Mendelssohn adapted a part of a phrase which can be found in the gigue of bach's partita no 1 for harpsichord. Nevertheless, it's beautiful!

Bravo indeed. I loved the setting as well. The acoustic quality of the hall complements the music so well. I just imagine the room darkened and lit by golden flame of candle or lamp.
