the vault that svetlana khorkina under rotated wasnt her fault! that was at the 2000 olympics and someone had set the vault to low!! there were alot of gymnasts that were under rotating their vaults and someone finally went to see what the problem was, and it was set way to low!! i think that all the girls that vaulted when it was like that should have been able to do it over, but they werent given that chance. i think someone did it on purpose , a sabotage attempt!! its to bad!!
@justin1gibson I still think it's a miracle that none of those girls broke their necks. Some of those falls were a hair's breadth away and looked really scary.

Svetlana Khorkina missed on bars a lot for someone who was considered a bars specialist.
It was absolutely disgusting when she stormed off (against the rules) out of the bars final in Athens. After the horrible things she had said about Carly Patterson earlier, she deserved what she got.

She missed on bars because she was so shaken (and probably in pain) after falling twice on vaults, and this purely because the officials failed the adjust the vault to correct height after the previous day's men's competitions. The mistake was inexcusable, and it totally ruined the Russians' concentration and cost them the Gold. They knew it and they were understandably pissed for being robbed of what should have rightfully been theirs.
I REMEBER WHEN THE rUSSIAN TOOK OFF THEIR MEDALS. iT WAS SO COCKY AND DISRESPECTFUL TO ME. tHAT'S WHAT THEY EARNED, THAT'S WHAT THEY GOT. sOME TEAMS LEFT WITH NOTHING. sorry for the caps.
they took them off because they were disappointed in themselves, and they probably were going back to russia to get their asses beat. In foreign countries, girls are taen out of school to train all day. they don't have friends or lives, just their sport.

@justin1gibson all the gymnasts were given the choice to redo the vault or not. Svetlana chose not to take a 2nd try.

i know! The other day my friend did a plain front handspring on it and landed on the edge and hit her head, plus, she hit her back and head on it.

Carly stepped out of bounds on her vault. She didn't necessarily deserve Gold with a mistake like that either.
