im using record 1.5 (demo) and i just got a [AT2035] that i am running through a [Fast Track : Guitar | Mic recording interface] and i cant figure out how to hook it up. i found i can hook the guitar throughthe fast track by making a audio track and going to preferences (asob usb fast track) and chosing the second option in the drop down section under stereo/mono. can ANYONE help me?

@jampackedjames If you're only using Record, then it's a free upgrade to 1.5 which would give you Neptune. If you're using Reason along with Record as a duo then you'd have to upgrade Reason to version 5 to be compatible inside Record but the Record upgrade would still be free. Neptune isn't in Record 1.0 and can't be added. Thanks.

i own Ableton Suite 8, a great DAW.

But i am interested in Neptune! will it come as a VST for Live? Or should i purchase RECORD and use it with Live...?

@Elephanttea Hey there! Neptune is not a VST so you'd need to purchase record and use it with Live. But doing so will not only give you Neptune (which is great), but all the other really great things about Record that come with it like our silkly smooth time stretching, the Line 6 amp modellers for bass and guitar, some keyboard instruments like Piano, Bass, and guitar, and other rack effects for processing audio in Record. And Record ReWires into Live for seamless sync. :)

@PropellerheadSW yes, well, i will probably purchase Record just for the Neptune function, the Line 6 amps are not good (well, no simulation software is...) and the instruments that are bundled in Live Suite 8 are great. What i COULD do is record all vocals in RECORD, that would be practical, and the synths in Live. Or something in the like. Actually, i was about to buy the Antares Harmony Engine Evo, but it doesn't work for Live.

I have record, but I need to know how to do live autotuning. I have it set up so I can hear myself, and the sound is going through neptune, but my voice sounds exactly the same in the output (unless I bend the pitch wheel). But my voice isn't autotuned at all. I have tried tweaking all the settings. I am using ASIO for all, a USB mic, and an on-board sound card. Any ideas?

My record does not detect any mic signal. It detects my external soundcard but there is no signal from the mic at all, and I got the phantom switch on. Does record support exteranl soundcards ? Donget get whats wrong

@superpu2 Sure it accepts external soundcards. Youtube comments will be an awkward way to troubleshoot this back and forth but please submit a support request if you need help. Off the top of my head: On windows the soundcard might need an ASIO driver (ASIO4ALL is a universal version) and the Active Input Channels button in the preferences will let you turn input channels on/off. Those are two places to start, at least.

@DentonDickerson Hmmm... I'd recommend going through our support department because they're experts in helping people with issues like this. All I can recommend is going to the preferences, choosing your sound card in the audio screen, and making sure you have checked off the "Active Input Channels" which is accessed via a button. @PSW Excellent indeed. I know you probably will be hesitant on answering this question since it might trigger a chain reaction, but why are there less ethnic percussion sets in Reason? I am an Indian, and I would love to see propellerhead-mastered drums for the same. When I think of songs like Tujhme rab dikhta hai, or Kata Kata Bechara, or other songs which have excellent percussion drums (dhols) or even strings like Sarangi. How come you guys don't inc those? It's hard finding them, really. :)

@whoddaya I can't really speak to the larger ReFill-maker community but for us we have a list longer than you can imagine of things we'd like to do. As has been said by our software teams, the hard part is deciding which one to do next. As for myself personally, I have looked for these sort of libraries and you're right. They're not as abundant as one might hope. I have used loop libraries from Swar Systems in the past.

I agree they should provide some indian libraries, swara shala is just ok. Native instruments has Kontakt and Battery with some indian instruments.the libraries I tend to look for are ethnic. go figure. but some hindi songs have the best damn drumming you have ever heard! True world music.

ok so, i've been trying to upgrade my recrod 1.0 to record 1.5. but when i do it it says that i need to install reason 5 first (I have reason 4.0). And when i try to authorize record 1.5 with my key it says that i allredy have authorized it (?!) it's so confusing and i don't get why it wont work! :O!

If neptune, when using the midi input shifts the incoming audio to the note you play on the keyboard. What happens when you play chords like at 0:40? does the audio track double up (or quadrouple up in this case) and shift to all of them or does it go to the closest note?

@Josephfuture if you're in voice-synth mode the chords would create harmonies. That's what you see in the video. Those chords are creating the harmony vocals you're hearing.

But now fully understanding the programs flaws AFTER buying it, Cubase can ONLY master, Record can only slave, and has no midi output. They really make it impossible to record external synths and interfaces with midioutput with Record.
