@rigomrtsfx That video clip produces the same FLAT image as the first. That will simply create an ugly blurred image. To create a 3D video you need to combine two clips with the slightest angle offset which will produce a very similar flat image to the first but from a different angle. Think of it like an isosceles triangle - The two cameras are set up at the base of the triangle while the 'subject' is at the point. Those angles combined is what creates the 3D effect.
Why have two camera when you can move the same video clip just a little to the right or left. On the video edit studio using scale and crop. This is my great way later .Remember I was here.Thai
@universetechnique Because that video clip produces the same exact flat image as the first. That will simply create an ugly blurred image. The making of 3-D explanation was not really accurate. It is correct that you need two camera, but you can also use a Minoru 3D camera that has two cameras built into one camera. The distance between camera lenses is from 2 1/2 inches for a subject about 7 feet away and will vary depending on how close or far the subject is. The offset of the two colors can not be too great or you will see ghosting. That means the subject distance can from near to far cannot be too great.
henry selick used one camera to make coraline in 3d , because they had to get the cameras to same distance apart as the puppets eyes were but it does also depend on how much of an effect you wanna have. watch the coraline making of to get an idea what he's talking about.
1 single camera can only be used for still 3D photos of a non-moving object, as two separate views must be made of a subject at the same time and so if that's the case, one photo can be taken of the subject and then a second photo taken from a few inches to the side. The easiest way to make 3D video is get a Minoru 3D webcam for under $90
QUESTION: At the moment, I'm not in the market for a new Camera. Is it possible, to just take to exact video copies and publish them side by side in, lets say, in an Adobe Video Editing Software, and make a 3D video that way? Or are double Cameras absolutely essential for 3D Filming?
No, two separate shots must be taken from two angles that are usually about 2 1/2 inches apart for the two lenses. It's the same as your eyes see things, from 2 1/2 inches apart. You need two eyes from two points of view to see in 3-Dimensions.
which 3D glasses are you talking about? are you talking about the ones with 2 different colours on them, or the ones with just black lenses? because i have the ones with just black lenses...

Thanks for the response. I'll look for that product...

Sorry, that will not work. You always need two separate views from two different viewpoints to make 3-D.

Oh my word! I hope Mr Drake is better at making 3D films than he is at explaining how to make them. Because that explanation was really, really poor.
