  • My dreadlocks are very new, like 1 week old, and idk what im doing wrong : / should i wait till they get thicker to try it again cause its not working. Im only working on two dreads, just so im sure tht i want them before doing my whole head. Btw, LOVE U VIDEOS! they reeeaaalllly help :3

  • you are adorable and very helpful :D

  • O_O

  • I am black and I love you're dreads, and I don't think you should do a video to try and explain your decisions on why you have locks, I say as long as you have the hair and you want them then you should get them... you don't owe anyone anything just stay pretty and keep those lovely dreads growing.

  • So sexy

  • #SWAG

  • you're so pretty! i love your dreads, it makes me want them! You inspired me

  • Do you often comb yor hair, even with oily dreads?

  • what do you do to get your ends to lock up??? emergency .. im a new dread head

  • u r so cute.i luv ur dreads :D

  • I'm black and I love your dreads. Dreads are a universal hair style!

  • I not sure why they would be controversy, other people besides black people have been wearing locs for 100s of years "other" such as the Vikings, who just happen to be Caucasian race. I like your locs and they look great on you. BTW I have locs and I'm black I have no issue with your beautiful locs.

  • @msbarb1 QUE SON LOCOMOTORAS???..

  • Oh, I would like to add this in response to your statement on how people of another ethnicity view your hair. My boyfriend is super mixed and has lovely giant hair. (he doesn't want any dreads because they're not his style). He just chuckled at me and said, "oh man... another white person with dreads." :) My friend from Africa said they look nice. I think that if you just treat dreads like another way you can keep your hair, instead of a huge statement, that it won't matter to others so much.

  • I just made my dreads this week. I bought a crochet hook set that has a 1,3mm 1,4mm and 1,5mm. The 1,5 is definitely not worth using and hardly gets anything done, especially when working on my roots. Personally, I'm not sure how well something smaller than a 1mm hook would work because I often stab my fingers while working with the smallest hook I have. It hurts and doesn't grab all that much hair. Also, thanks so much for your vids! <3

  • hey im thinking about getting dreads (im a girl from england too :L ) but i want to try some first like maybe 2 underneath my hair to see if i can handle them and stuff, but the rest of my normal hair i will still need to wash so i can wash my hair and still have dread locks underneath or would that not work? please reply cause i really want to try them! <3 much love x

  • You my friend are cute Just sayin >.>

  • Very nice "How to crochet hook your dreadlocks" video! vvvvvv.Dreadart.com

  • Do you use wax ?

  • You saved me money i was going to buy a stupid dread kit with wax and shit before i watched your other video of how to do it.... oh and limp bizkit's the shit

  • love your dreads!!! i just had 4 dreads and now i have 4 more...! thanks to your video! :D

  • I like her everything

  • i like her accent

  • your Blonde Dreads look awesome!!!

  • Okay, PLEASE don't giggle at me, I don't know what the bloody hell I'm doing... I just attempted my very first dread. GOODBYE DREAD-VIRGINITY! Anywayssss It's super soft and fuzzy.. I did my very best to crotchet like you taught, and it still doesn't look as tight as yours... Is that maybe because it's brand, spankin' new? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! <3

  • damm, you are too fucking cool

  • uh does the crochet hook have to be 0.5-1? all i can find is 3.75. haha

  • You should have done my dreads the person who did mine used wax and now my hair is a mess

  • You're great..! Nice video :)

  • oh dude, my dreads r really messed up, but imma try to fix it up using this method. thanks!!!

  • I have a 1.75, should that still work? :s

  • this is imposible! i tried like 348924820 times and couldnt

  • your pretty and i like your voice

  • Is it necessary to crochet dreads?

  • your voice is sexy! and your verry pretty!! :D

  • If dreads have already been started with the wax and done poorly..can u still use this method? Please email me back with an answer shaunaarcher2010@yahoo.com

  • You rock!!!, Love tha locks, I had some sick ones 5 times, growin my hair back it's gettin soulder length and I am thinkin about doin em again. Your locks have inspired me to do a good job!! Thanks dread girl.

  • I love your dreds so much <3

  • In response to your mention of what black people think of your locks, I've found that black men love my hair, but a lot of black women don't. Not sure why. I'm white, I've had my locks for 8 years now, and they're about down to my butt. In my opinion, everyone looks good in dreads!

  • your hot :) nice locs as well.

  • dont worry about what black ppl say about ure dreadies!!! they look amazing!! it dosnt matter weather u are black, white or purple!!! dread on!!

  • the smallest crochet hook i could find was 2.0mm and i really dont think im doin it right

  • u look like my sis... CREEPY

  • i want dreadlocks soooo bad but all of my friends say i shouldnt. i think i might just do one just to get the feel and if i end up liking it i tink i might do all my hair. i have a question though. would dread locks look bad if you have really thick hair?

  • Can someone please tell me the name of the song by limp bizkit in the video thnxs

  • Lol dude your like the only person ive ever seen who actually looks good with dreads!

  • You guys shut the fuck up or she'll be too creeped out to make anymore videos.

  • LOLOL I THOUGHT U WERE A LIL GIRL . :} UR A CUTE LADY :}

  • Is it ok to use a latch hook instead of a crochet hook?

  • thanks for your videos, I got dreads about 5 days ago now. I get great hints and tips from you.

  • my hair started ripping from this method.

  • so i just used a paper clip that i straightened out to crochet and i think it worked sooo yeah! :D!!!

  • Holy.. Its Hanna 0.0

  • cutie faerie princess.

  • ye shes pretty as hell......i done put the crochet needle thro my finger like 6 times lol, it hurts!! but very effective! thx for the tutorial

  • Not many girls can pull off dreads, but you definitely can! You're beautiful!

  • Wow very nice dreads. Mine are now 6 weeks ^^ I do hope they will come to be like yours!

  • i have a question for you! i am planning on dreading my hair, but want to leave loose hair....with your fringe and side bits that you havent dreaded....do you straighten those parts of your hair? cause in your other videos you say you have curly hair. I have curly hair and wonder if it will be a pain having scraggly curly bits throughout dreads.....

  • I love your videos and your hair is great! I do not have dreads but I have a homecare client that developed neglect dreads (basically like in the shape of a helmet on her head) from laying in bed all the time and using too of that dry shampoo... Anyhow this video has really helped me in dismantling her massive dread! THANKS!

  • i have really poofy hair and am thinking of geting some dreads

  • @xxzxczx When you're using the hook, do you pull all the way out of the dread or do you keep going up and down pretty much keeping inside the dread? Mean video by the way !

  • Waaaow!! Thank you very very much! Keep giving love, respect and happiness You are princess Sista!! I ll send you a video maybe one day of the Dread that you helped me to do!

    Peace, Love and Inity!

  • Why whites one to have "dreadlocks"?

    I&I no have no "dreadlocks"....

    I&I have DreadLocks...seen?

  • @PapiDreadI english. do you speak it?

  • holy shit you are adorable oh my god i want to put you in my pocket.

  • hahah we are laughing at you.

  • Keep them clean, mold with start growing from the inside out and bacteria will form eating the mold, then you got a problem. You will smell like a wet sponge especially kicks in when you sweat so stay away from Volleyball.

  • how do you wash your hair??

  • @valufa84princess she has a video on that :))

  • i love your dreads!!! im thinking about getting dreads. I want to save up money to get them done & while im saving my hair will grow out & im hoping to get them done sort of like yours...although you probably did those on your own

  • you forgot to say if you pull the hook to hard it can break hairs that then create weak points in dreads! D:

  • hi i'm looking for some recomendations, i've just done my second drealock and i'm thinking about not doing crochet with it, because i did it with the first one, but it almost broke, is it weird to get a dread broken by crochet?

do you recomend to me other technique? apart form this or palm rolling? (it didn't work neither, all the hair went out of the dread when i did palm rolling)

    i'm curly, maybe that's the problem, i don't know

  • What's name that song by limp bizkit??

  • I would definitely recommend rolling or twisting the crochet hook with your fingers as you push it in and out of the dread, worked wonders for me.

  • i fucking love limp bizkit!!!!

  • @slicksilver07 me too!!!

  • If your hair isn't dreading at the roots wash your hair twice with baby shampoo. It should dry it up. And it should dread on its own. Just pull them apart.

  • You. Are. SO. Helpful

  • Okay first of all, hottest white chick I've ever seen with dreads. Second thank you I really couldn't figure the whole crochet hook thing, I just started my first dread like a month ago. I have a question though at the roots of your hair, how do you keep that dreaded? My roots like refuse to dread.

  • thankyouuuu! finally bought a crochet hook today. its amazing ! xx

  • i try but i can't do this :((((((((((((

  • is there any other way to get dreads without crocheting? ): I don't own a crochet hook and frankly, am too lazy to crochet my whole head. Any help please?

  • @xHelloKawaiix Course! There's backcombing without crocheting, twist and rip, neglect (I don't really like that method though).

  • Did you crochet your whole head?

  • hey thanks i just used your specific method of crocheting my dreads and it really tightened them up

  • wow ure beautiful! :) been growing myn for 8 years now :)

  • hay me duele

  • unatural

  • you aer gawjus wow lol :)X

  • you are beautiful and i cannot imagine another hair style for you :)! also my hair is about 5 inches long, and i want dreads!!!! what do you suggest for me to start making dreadslocks? thanks <3

  • Forget that. I used a crochet hook and it ripped my dread eventually. I have to start all over. I'm going neglect.

  • @jeremebonesaw then you did it wrong.

Go negleck and expect to find your dreads on your pillow one morning.

And why the hell would you start over?

    Dumbass

  • @impcirca1988 Wow dude that was pretty rude considering I was just sharing my crocheting experience. I am starting over because I don't want to brush my hair, there for it will automatically dread you fucking dick.

  • @jeremebonesaw No it won't.

Well, technically yes it will - into one big, ugly, mouldy lump. Please don't just expect the trash that hair picks up to magically give you perfect dreads. 1 you'll be disappointed and 2 manky dreads give the rest of us a bad name.

I do feel bad for calling you a dumbass, but please know that crocheting your dreads properly doesn't make them fall out.

  • @impcirca1988 Not if you separate them properly. I like the fact that they will come out uneven. There are plenty of good neglect examples of dreads on the net. look up iriesoaringeagle on youtube. It would be the 3rd or 4th video from the bottom, a man with many long neglect dreads that he has had for more than 20 years. I wanted to do neglect from the beginning but I did not train my scalp properly.

  • @jeremebonesaw train your scalp?

Whoever has been telling you how hair works has been bullshitting you.

1: Neglect dreads take forever, and until all your hair is bound up, it will look terrible.

2: The reason neglect dreads hold together is dirt, and grease, and skin which effectively glues your hair in place.

3: There are infinitely more examples of terrible, ugly, messy neglect dreads online. Just look ANYWHERE that is anti-dreads - neglect dreads make good examples for them as they smell.

  • @impcirca1988 20 years of neglect it enough proof for me. I enjoy waiting to see what my body will do. If I learn the hard way I learn the hard way.I guess I prefer feeling good rather than looking good. Sorry if I make you look bad in the future. I'll be sure to mention you in my will when I die with my neglect dreads.

  • @jeremebonesaw No, you'l wake up one day with them left behind on your pillow, IF they ever last that long, IF they ever properly dread, all of which is incredibly unlikely.

I tried being nice to you, but you're clearly a dickhead who wants to look like a scraggy junkie so go ahead. Just don't pretend you're somehow better than those of us with personal hygiene.

  • @impcirca1988 neglect dreads do not not mean neglect HYGEINE!! you simply wash yr hair with a non residue soap.

agreed neglect dreads can take a while but it can be a very rewarding journy and you'll always have healthy un damaged dreads. Also no maintanence except washin and separatin compared to the continuel need to maintain crochet dreads which is never ending so that long wait at the beginning pays of later.Greasy hair slows dreading and its bullshit about it stickin them 2gether. RESEARCH!

  • @MrRickardo74 Don't talk to me about research - I've been fixing the hashjobs other people make of dreads with my hook and my experience for years you smarmy git.

Greasy hair slows dreading - true.

It IS the skin in neglect dreads which binds them what did you think they are held together by magic? Hurr Durr

Crocheted dreads do not need to maintained forever, Once they have settled in only the roots need knotting- do your RESEARCH.

You love neglect - fine, just don't lie about other methods.

  • @impcirca1988 y u so angry?do have issues? just 4d record I have crochet dreads:)skin holdin dreads 2gether hahahah and yr sayin HURR DURR to me!knotts hold dreads 2gether and thats what happens when u don brush yr hair :) I love dreads simple as that .not just just neglect but crochet too. I have 22 yrs of diff dread experiences behind me so no research needed. I've lived them. Plz tell me that u r windin me up that u believe skin holds them 2gether otherwise u just made a total twat of yrslf

  • @MrRickardo74 hmmm, try English maybe?

And yes, if you never touch your dreads they become full of a dark grey material - this is a mixture of skin, oil, and dirt (and any products you may put in there) and it's fucking gross. I would know, the number of dreads I've had me hands in, dumbass.

As for issues - I have have 1: I flip out when people with gross dreads (or idiots in general) act superior.

  • @impcirca1988 well thats obvious and happens with any hair if u don wash it. yr gonna get just as much skin and crap in any dread method if u don wash them whether that be natural/neglect or crochret. Sadly some ppl thin by not washin yr hair is the only way to obtain or maintain dreads. I never attempted to act superior, it was you who got cocky and up yrself by callin me a smarmy git and for my English its just a way of getting all I need to say in with as little characters as possible ;)

  • @MrRickardo74 When you wade into a discussion on the wrong side people tend to get annoyed. Concision and legibility aren't mutually exclusive. If you really do think neglect dreads are equal to crocheted then we are in agreement and my comments to Jereme bonesaw deserved no attack from you.

I don't particularly mind tho - its only youtube

  • @impcirca1988

All dreads are held together by knots dude. hair over a long period of time knots up and tangles. I don't know if I wanna know what you mean by (it IS the skin in neglect dreads...) Crochet hooks are bad for dreads because it strains and stresses the hair you pull into the dread, over time they can really mess up dreads

  • @vulptastic if you do it right, it does no such thing.

And what I meant was that the shit that can collect in dreads if you don't look after them acts as a glue.

  • I have an afro, will it still work?

  • @OUSMIES yeah i have a friend who had a fro and he went to dreads. he said his stylist said it would take a bit longer but that was the only complication

  • @clocke74 thanks :) x

  • i cant seem to get the crochet hooking down :/

  • i cant seem to get the crochet hooking down :/

  • You can leaaaan on meeee nooowwww (8) If your going to sonisphere come meet me please and help me with my dreads ha ...although just not during Limp Bizkit or Slipknot:)

  • could you do a video on the best way to divide up your hair prior to dreading or whatever you recommend... thanks!

  • that hurts a bit right?

  • @darkr70 I tried it earlier, and yes, it hurts. But the end result is all that matters.

  • Oh my god, she's gorgeous.

  • um... "a few other random people?" um.. yeah. like the little people who don't matter? um.. yeah. um... so yeah. very long video um... and not very informative, um... but keep rockin those dreads!

  • When you had only one dreadlock, what did you do for shampooing?

  • ur hot

  • How old are you? Haha but seriously I want to get dreads and don't know where to start. My hair isn't tooo long but it's an okay length. Where do you get the crochet thing? And how do you bathe with dreads? Great vid btw

  • your the coolest white chick to have locs in your hair

  • wow u lok great with dreads i wanna get some them i dnt know how ill look

  • thank you so much for this video! it saved my dreads.
