Ryan good vid about the basics on tools. I have had a lot of employees show up with some crappy brand tools. Having the correct tools is a big part of doing your job right!!
That`s a nice set of tools, sir. I try to buy all Klein Tools as well. You probably already know this but if you spray your tools with wd40 or some other kind of lubricant and sand them down a little even with just a sanding sponge they will look really good after just a few minutes. While I was moving to my new home I found my very first set of kleins, they were rusted shut but after a bit of sanding and adding a lubricant they were as good as the day I bought them several years ago.
@komputeruser Oh they are getting used now trust me but I can't force people to hire me no can I? Maybe were you live there is plenty of work for electricians, but here in the U.S. with good ol Obama all of our work has vanished. Luckly after being on the books at the hall along with 100's of other brothers I have been hired on through a contractor working on yes a government facility and this is because most if not all the work that our local is doing is government work
@ryanb788 yea big mouth that same good ole' obama has you getting a check now doesnt he. stop complaining about a president and get off your arse. F@@k guys like you always blame Obama for your PROBLEMS AND NOT YOURSELF
@omacdy Thanks for your comment. I am working by the way. This video was made what almost two years ago. I would have gotten an unemployment check no matter who was president. Why are you so mad? Yes the economy sucks. No I don't entirely blame Obama for this. There are hundreds of reasons why our economy is the way it is. It does suck but I'm like most people and keep on doing what we can to feed our family's even if it means having to work out of our comfort zone.
@moedelacruz I know right well the best I did at the time was to wipe the cob webs off fo the tools lol. I was laid off for sixteen months. I've went through each and every tool and wire brushed them and put wd 40 on all of them
Hey Ryan , I'm 14 yrs old turning 15 in July, thinking about doing an Electrician Apprenticeship, ive heard you have to go to year 12 but id do it if i had to , Would you recommend it is it a good job?
Ryan i hate to be a pain in the ass! but can you tell me what company your Allen wrenches are? the red and blue ones are the ones i am interested in! what company is it? i really appreciate this upload! thank you!
not a problem :) They are made by "Shefield" I bought them at walmart.......yeah I know walmart eh? I hate buying stuff from there because most of it is made overseas but I didn't have the money for some Klein allen wrenches.
@tslabjr7 the rounded heads can be handy when you cannot get the wrench straight on to the allen head but it can make it a pain in the ass when your using them normal
i just purchased the knipex 1000v electrician set.
from what i herd klien has gone down in the last 5
years. knipex on the other hand is German and there tools sell for ridicules low prices. the electrician set is slightly more than the klien journeyman series.
now as far as wire strippers i think Klein makes the best . but i am having problem trimming little screws.
i just broke a pair trimming screws. what model is your stripper/trimmer set?
I have never heard of knipex as far as bolt cutters I am assuming you are talking about 8/32 and 6/32 screws.....I have a two different pairs of wire strippers with screw cutters. One is a Ideal brand, and the other is Greenlee, I prefer the Ideal
you're the man!! i'm just getting started i don't care that you uh,um or anything of the sort because i say that stuff too youre delivering kick ass info.
cool.....If he has any quistions I can probably answer them for him. I was an electrician in the Navy seabees for 5 years and have been a electrician in IBEW 903 union for 7 years
heyy man i was just wondering how good your maths has to be for this trade i was thinking of getting an apprentiship as an electrition

Bicycle chain lube works great on tools. Get the kind for mountain bikes and they will repel water fairly well. And it's cheap.
I wouldn't use WD-40 on anything.

Use your tools more, they won't rust like that, and you won't hesitate when you try to tell people what there for!! LOL!

well i am a apprentice and you should consider knipex!
some master electrician's use them. i don't know if your stores carry them where you live but they do where i live!
now i have a important question. what type of bolt trimmers do you use?
