  • There's just something not right with AlMaghrib courses and the institute. 1) Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab's Kitab of Tawheed in Light of Guidance. 2) Madhab of Ahl-Hadith included in Fiqh of Salah. 3) Labeling Taqleed as "Blind Following" in The Code Evolved, and claiming Abu Hanifa didn't have a large pool of Hadiths for his fiqh. The blatant takfir and tashrik of scholars on their forums.

    And these flashy trailers.

Does anyone else see these things?

  • @Synergistik Im not sure if you've taken any seminars mentioned:

    (1) I don't recall ibn AbdulWahhab being mentioned in Light of Guidance

    (2) Fiqh classes are taught understanding all major schools. Each instructor follows a specific school - Yaser Birjas follows the fiqh of Imam Shafie

    (3) Did you take code evolved? If you did, youd know your statement is out of context

    (4) AlMaghrib policy is to not do takfir of scholars. If someone on the forums did, I'm sure it was addressed

  • @leechonfilms

    1) Yes it is his book that's the basis for the Tawheed taught. Mentioning his name is a sufficient, but not necessary condition.

    2) The issue is Madhab of Ahl-Hadith, a 5th Madhab?

    3) They are in the notes from Qabeelat Tayyabah. I'm not sure how much context would change the content.

    4) The policy was broken by one of its very own teachers. It indeed was removed.

  • @Synergistik

    1) His book isnt the basis for the tawheed taught. If you took LOG you'd see its straight from quran and hadeeth.

    2) I dont understand

    3) Notes are a student's thoughts and perceptions. Not necessarily what was taught. Take the class when you have the opportunity and see for yourself. It's covers material similar to Evolution of Fiqh by Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

    4) Everyone makes mistakes. The mistake was corrected.

  • @leechonfilms

    1) The issue is not the sources, but the transmission through scholarship. For this they use his Kitab At-Tawheed.

    2) Yeah neither do I.

    3) No I don't think so. Notes are notes, a recording of the information and knowledge that is transmitted from teacher to student. When the Taqleed is defined as blind following, and it is said the total number of hadeeth counted by his later students are 215, i think we've excluded "perception".

  • @leechonfilms

    4) The major mistake was the tashrik, posting it on the forum is secondary. Only the latter was corrected.

Anyways thanks for the information brother. Salam.

  • Asalamu-Alaikum...

I really don't understand the what the course is about with this trailer. For future please make a Video trailer which is understandable. Jazakhallah Khairun

  • From a marketing prespective, this video does not do the job, because I didn't learn anything about the course. I think they make trailers for the sake of making trailers. I mean come on, it's not like its an action movie where you show me a couple of scenes of shooting and jumping over cars and I would want to see the movie.

  • Doesn't make sense. I can't see what's so hard about staying up for 15 more minutes to pray salah. How does that prove your love for Allah? I mean its not that hard to do in that situation. Even a Munafiq can do it.

Secondly, how can you compare the natural love and care of the mother to her babies, with the love of Allah which is not a natural inclination, but rather something you acquire by knowing and learning about Allah?

  • Aslaam Alaaykum,

  • Am I the only one who thought that trailer made no sense?

  • I could be wrong... But, we'd stay up the night for the sake of our baby and make sure they are safe and healthy, and finally you get home at 5 am and think you'll get some sleep... the adhaan goes off... If you claim to love Allah, then you'll get back out bed and stand up in prayer...

  • Jazakallahu Kahir I'm going to this class with Qmajd in toronto... Insha'allah.

  • This was an AWESOME class, definitely out of the box kind of class, especially for the usual AlMaghrib classes.

I enjoyed and benefited from it to such a high degree. Shaykh Riyad was by far my favorite instructor of all of them just because of his Akhlaq and how he executed the class.

DONT MISS IT, if its happening in the North American region (including Canada), then you have no excuse not to GO!
