I had 5 years. One of my best friends is Mexican-American & tri-lingual (English, Spanish...rusty French) & has a sort of continental/American Spanish idiom (a bit slower then Latin Spanish, somewhat like Martika's). And I still suck at conversational Spanish. But for a rather predictable reason I can make out almost everything Martika says. Lovely singer & lady.
