  • I did not know that P.J. Proby had a version of this song as well. I like Donnie Brook's version better but enjoyed this one also. Good Post.

  • LOVE HIM WEAR IS HE

  • MISS HIM SO SO MUCH HES WONDERFULL

  • WEAR IS MR PJ PROBY NOW I REALY REAY HOPE HES ALLRIGHT MIIS HIM HES GREAT

  • Anybody else watched the video with the sound turned down? His prancy schmancy little dance steps are hilarious. He out wiggles Marilyn Monroe. The way he does his hand when he sings 'brighter than a diamond ring' makes you wonder what he was thinking. Diamonds are a girl's best friend?

  • Oh how we wish for our youth. Through PJ we can. The pirate shirts I love. It's his trade mark.

  • This version is good, Brook's is better.

  • @sharonkayb It would have to be a Mighty version of Mission Bell to outclass PJ Proby's!!!

  • Funny how you can hear girls screaming like crazy but the video footage shows them looking around and clapping to the slow beat of the music. I guess scream tracks were as popular with some TV producers as laugh and music tracks. The girls on camera don't look all that taken with a guy who wiggled about the stage with his hands on his thighs like a discount stripper in buccaneer drag.

  • PJ Proby's version was the best and at a time when anything a Brit or European put out was a guaranteed hit he had the voice and charisma. He was England's answer to Tom Jones, the Welshman but both were great singers and performers.

  • Proby was a great entertainer. thanks..

  • Just read an article on an Australian site about this Proby song! "Brooks original was pleasant but unremarkable. This P.J. version is a quintessential example of a re-make transforming the original & overshadowing it" HEAR! HEAR!

  • @rontenn Your Australian article says "Mission Bell was one of Proby's biggest hits in Australia, but it remained an album track in the UK and the single didn't chart nationally in the US." It looks as though Oz prevented Proby's version from being a complete flop. The author also disputed Proby's claim that it got to No.1 in Australia.

  • @castleontheriver In some Oz States it got to no. 2, no. 3 & to no.1. Combined nationally "down under" it got to no.2 but it originally was only the flip side of "Stagger Lee". It was never a single release in the U.K.. It was in the U.S.A but not a hit! BIG DEAL!! It was still far,far superior to Brook's tame version from 1960.

  • @rontenn For me, hearing a friend's copy of Mission Bell was my introduction to Proby [I live in Victoria, OZ].

I still think it is hard to find anything better that Proby has ever done than the cut of that track!!

  • @Docdogs1 P.J. still has a firm following in Oz.....of course smaller than in the 60's. His Oz fans are campaigning on FaceBook to get him back to Australia as he hasn't performed there since 2004. He's still looking good & is still singing top class! To me he's a true LEGEND!!

  • @Docdogs1 i TOTALLY AGREEE. iT IS HIS BEST.

  • @gertzgirl1 He does do an absolutely incredible and sincere version of "I Believe"!

It is available here on Youtube.

  • Proby....one of the true giants of pop music!! Still going strong & still has many fans. Unfortunately giants attract very small minded people that can only come up with petty comments!!! My theory is these Proby "knockers" are pathetic people with nothing better to do than follow the career of a singer they can't stand!! How weird is that,! Get a life you morons & do not bother us Probyans!

  • @rontenn

My theory is you have nothing better to do than call people morons and knock Elvis, Bobby Vee, Tom Jones, Brian Wilson and every other singer who had more and bigger hits than PJ Proby did. You're right about Proby attracting very small minded people - you're a perfect example. Why don't you do something useful and read the benefits rules instead of posting daft comments about "the State Pension that everyone gets at 65 in the U.K."

  • @castleontheriver My theory is that you have nothing better to do than criticise the greatest, most versatile singer ever!! Why don't you do something useful like steering clear of P.J. You Tube clips? As for the 4 singers you name....P.J. is better than them all! It's not about how many hits....it's about quality!!

The VW beetle or the Austin mini motor-car was purchased by millions of drivers but they have nowhere near the class & quality of a Rolls Royce which sell a lot less!

  • @rontenn

Your incessant rants about Proby knockers and haters isn't working very well for you on youtube. Why don't you open your own website where you can control everything people say.

It's a dirty shame isn't it that music fans don't know as much about "quality" singers as you do? Maybe Proby should have gone into the motor car business where "quality" is easier to recognise.

  • @castleontheriver From you all we get is non stop "Blah blah blah!". And then yet more "Blah blah blah!" What a bore you are! Stop your incessant rants about P.J. & I won't have to be in contact with your horrible self at all!

  • @rontenn Why would anybody stop posting when it's so much fun reading your knee-jerk replies? You're a riot!

  • @castleontheriver More BLAH!! ZZZZZZZ!

  • Just fantastic

  • Comment removed

  • Never heard of this guy before and I was born in the early fifties!

  • So Sad wicked comments are listed here /PJ was/ is still a great performer, and has given much pleasure to people in the UK. Peace

  • @shytalker Some sad and lonely people just get their kicks out of knocking people, I pity them. They should just lay off and enjoy the mucic of a great man. He is my hero. Love you PJ.

  • @musiclov60 Hi there, you should watch my upload, there,s no negative comments on my channel, they're all put in the bin.

  • @jimmyproby Right on! That's why you have only complimentary comments on your videos. You get your buddies to run up your view counts as well, and you pilfer pictures from other people's videos to use in yours. You're a real pillar of the YouTube community aren't you?

  • @TruthBeKnownAgain And you're a real pillock of the community are'nt you, spreading lies and slander as usual and using yet another psuenodym.

  • @jimmyproby What's a psuenodym? Anything like a tsunami? LOL Try using a browser with spell check.

  • @TruthBeKnownAgain Try alias then, if you're too thick to work it out.

  • @jimmyproby Try a dictionary then if a spell checker is too much for you. You described one of your P. J. Proby uploads with "sung beautifully by his masters voice". Is P. J. Proby really Nipper the fox terrier pictured on the old RCA records? He looks taller when he's standing on his hind legs.

  • @TruthBeKnownAgain FROM jimmyproby, You certainly don't need a dictionary on any of YOUR contributions to You-Tube or P.J. Do you? you've got the audacity to pick bones, when you give absolutely nothing from this channel except bad mouthing.

  • @jimmyproby I'm not in any danger of being sued for copyright infringement either. Do you have a royalty agreement with the copyright owners of all the tracks you've ripped and uploaded? If not then you're stealing instead of giving. Did you read the rules about copyright infringement or can't you read any better than you can spell?

  • @TruthBeKnownAgain From jimmyproby, and neither am i, if you have a problem with my uploads, there is a simple solution for you, don't bother clicking on them, do YOU own the copyright to any of my uploads? Also most of the songs i have uploaded have also been uploaded by other fans too. so keep your stupid, jealous, hateful comments to yourself and join the ranks of the Proby-haters.

  • @musiclov60 PJ does not deserve the venom many people have posted here, lets see some Humanity & Humility, this man has entertained many over many years, fallen on hard times perhaps, and yes ill health, [there but for the grace of God] let us see Compassion. All best wishes to PJ and all his fans everywhere

  • @shytalker

PJ Proby has made a career of badmouthing other artistes and even members of his own family, taking credit for the success of others by saying he did demos he didn't do, claiming benefits whilst guzzling Jack Daniels, and violating his record contracts. He's fair game for criticism so get over it.

  • @shytalker Thank you, and you are spot on.

  • @rontenn It's clear you're in total awe of this Proby character and have lost touch with reality. People can overlook crazy things music artists say when it's harmless nonsense, but underhanded attempts to discredit other artists isn't harmless and at his age PJ Proby should know better. He's nuts if he believes there's no one left who knows he's full of it.

  • Except for a few places, this cover rivals Donnie Brooks. Great vocals.

  • @SounzNice. Yes it is good, glad you like it. I'm pleased to answer a comment about the music that's playing as the petty comments about P.J.'s character etc. by other people are boring & nothing to do with the clip.

  • @rontenn

You set the stage for comments about Proby's character by telling that silly story that Brooks was jealous of Proby's success in OZ. Proby told the press Donnie said to him, "How can you do this to me, Jim?" Obviously Brooks was only joking but Proby has used it to make Brooks look petty, which is how Proby operates.

Peter Guralnick's Elvis books are well researched, respected and objective. Proby is still looking for a publisher for his autobiographical trash?

  • @castleontheriver I also said that P.J. had offered Donnie some of his Oz royalties but you conveniently did not mention that! It's all one sided drivel you & your mates spout. P.J. is still looking for a publisher, his book is absolutely brilliant. How do I know that? I've read it ! You mention research & being objective....why don't you try it? As for the word respect, you don't know what it means!

  • @rontenn

Yes you mentioned he offered Donnie Brooks some of the royalties HE SAYS he's never received. Part of nothing is NOTHING! If you think anyone reading your comments believes them you're in the same dream world PJ Proby's in. He's made millions but he's never been paid anything. He grew up in Houston with Elvis 778km from Memphis. He plays to sellout crowds but he's innocent of benefits fraud. I'm sure his book is just as brilliant as his idiotic interviews on youtube and radio.

  • @castleontheriver. I'm getting fed up of your nastiness.....you have a big problem in your head that needs sorting. You're so anti Proby that it's almost taken over your life!

I'm not in a dream world but you are definitely living a nightmare. So many problems in the world & you're making a big deal about whether P.J. maybe gave Donnie a few thousand dollars as a gift 45 years ago. Laughable!! Your sour comments are not worth answering any more.In fact were they ever?

  • @rontenn Why do you think anyone cares if you're fed up? PJ Proby has taken over YOUR life if you still believe his absurd tales. Now you're saying he MAYBE gave Donnie Brooks some money. You posted that ludicrous story and you don't KNOW whether it's true? Do you cover up for all your lying friends or just the ones you think looked and sang pretty 45 years ago?

  • @castleontheriver Whatever!!!...it's clear you're not normal & not worth another second of my time!

  • @rontenn The only thickie is you if you think anybody's going to fall for that jive about OTT stuff to make a point. Just where does PJ Proby draw the line anyway? I bet you don't know so all you can do is post stupid off the subject comments. You call this good publicity? It's good for a laugh on a slow day.

  • @nawlins4evah

rontenn says you are confused. He must be exhausted from running along behind his hero licking his boots and cleaning up his messes. I guess it's hard work trying to convince people that somebody like PJ Proby, who doesn't know fact from fiction and doesn't care, is a hero.

  • @castleontheriver Did I say MY hero! Twisting the facts again!!!! That's all you & your idiot supporters can do! You all talk s**t so I'm sure there's a lot more mess to clear up after being behind you lot!

  • This is a wonderful track by the one & only P.J.Proby. All of his fans have the recording & most of them the dvd of him singing it. This is why they have no need to visit You Tube to watch & listen. So most of the comments here are made by the usual army of 3 or 4 Proby haters who think their words make a difference. The Proby fans who do come on You Tube know these vultures & just laugh at their ignorant comments & refuse to lower themselves & answer them.Think I'll do the same from now on!

  • @rontenn

You don't know what you're talking about as usual. Someone else might have a similar ID, like ronten2, but only one person can post comments with your "rontenn" ID and that person is YOU. That is unless you're stupid enough to give someone your password.

Yes, we've all seen reviews of Proby's tour saying he complains on stage about not being given enough time to sing everything he wants to. Does he still waste time telling the hackneyed trouser-splitting story?

  • @castleontheriver Anything can be fiddled these days & if you don't realise it then you are the stupid one!! YouTube,Twitter,Face Book etc. In fact the girl singer with N-Dubz,Tulisa has had her profile deleted from Face Book because there were 60 fake versions of her on there! Why don't YOU join the shitty real world?

  • @rontenn So you're saying there are fake versions of you on youtube. Why would anyone bother? Are you a girl singer in a hip-hop group? If by fiddle you mean somebody hijacked your account then report it! If you mean somebody registered with an ID similar to rontenn, so what? What point are YOU trying to make other than a vague excuse for some stupid youtube comments that you wish you hadn't posted.

  • @castleontheriver Any comments I make on YouTube leave me with no regrets as everything I say is fact. Completely the opposite to you & your few pathetic anti Proby pals. You all talk absolute bull shit & you all need urgent brain scans!! Your lives must be totally pointless if this is all you have to do with your time. It's so pathetic it's laughable!

  • @rontenn He's said on TV and radio in recent years that he knew Elvis since he (PJ Proby) was 14 and they sang at the Hitching Post. Elvis wasn't in Houston till NOV-1954 (when Proby was 16) and he didn't sing at the Hitching Post. On RSG in 1964 when asked if he knew Elvis well Proby said "I was raised with him just about". Is 778km just about? He impressed some people in 1964-65 with his tales but most quickly tired of hearing him knock other artistes and brag about himself.

  • @grizzlygalore Simple answer: P.J. was there,YOU WERE NOT!

  • @rontenn Are you saying you were there and can authenticate Proby's stories? If not who can? Where Elvis traveled and didn't before he joined the Louisiana Hayride is no secret. 778km trips to Houston didn't happen. Proby obviously enjoys making a fool of himself telling his Elvis tales to his dwindling group of hangers-on, and you lap them up. Other than Elvis' entourage members, only wannabes and hasbeens like PJ Proby and Wes Bryan talk constantly about knowing Elvis. Haven't you noticed?

  • @grizzlygalore Where Elvis travelled to & from at that time is something only Elvis can answer.I can't & neither can you. He did drive a lorry/van for Crown Electrics so he had transport & you also have the Greyhound bus service plus of course railways. One can also borrow a car so he wasn't exactly a prisoner in his home-town. He dated Betty & everyone knows that lurve has no boundaries! Now if you & your weird cronies dispute all of this...too bad!

  • @rontenn So Proby has revised Elvis' transport from a pink Cadillac to Crown Electrics van or a Greyhound bus. I suppose Crown Electrics had no problem letting Elvis put 1500km round trips to Houston (10+ hrs there and 10+ hrs back) on their van so he could visit his lurve interest. Get real. Anybody wanting the truth about Elvis' travels, girl friends, vehicles etc. can find the details in books by respected historians. Why would they believe Proby's self-serving unsubstantiated stories?

  • @grizzlygalore It's only you & one or two others who do not believe what Proby says.Well believe what you want ! As for other books by "respected" historians......well if you choose to swallow their words once again it's your choice.I could say about them exactly what you say about Proby...self-serving & unsubstantiated.

  • @rontenn On the Bailey Ritz Interviews P.J. Proby video PJ says "I've never been paid for one record I've ever made in my life" and "from '62 to this very moment I haven't made one cent from any record I ever made." Sure does sound like he's contradicting you. Are you going to tell me again what he really means? LOL

  • @nawlins4evah Even P.J's fans & friends know that P.J. does go OTT sometimes. That is no secret. He does it to get his point across mainly to thickies like you! Read my other posting again....don't remember mentioning RECORD royalties! You just change things around to suit your silly self!

  • @rontenn Got it now. That must be part of PJ's exemption from s**t. He was given his own special set of morals to live by. None of his fans and friends have a problem with anything he says even if it's untrue because he's trying to make a point. Guess those fans and friends appointed you their spokesperson.

  • @nawlins4evah There you go again! confusing even yourself with the drivel you write. Just accept the fact P.J. is a hero. You believe he is flawed.....that's fine! people like that kind of hero even more. You are giving him lots of publicity.....thanks!!

  • @rontenn A hero? Is English your first language? If PJ Proby is your hero you have a pitifully low standard for heroism. People I know don't see anything heroic in a singer who's wasted 50 years of his life trying to steal Elvis' thunder.

  • @nawlins4evah pj did swamp rock before elvis hes a pretty versitile singer and he writes songs everybody from jim morrison to engleburt to robert plant to andy kaufman picked up something from elvis

  • @spacepatrolman Of course many well known artists were influenced by Elvis but I don't remember that anybody but PJ Proby claimed they grew up with him and were doing the same thing back in the fifties that Elvis did. Nor did they put Elvis down like PJ has by calling him ignorant and just a product that was sold by Tom Parker.

  • @nawlins4evah well theres a lot of power plays in the music business publicity stunts to get on top bill clinton was influenced by elvis he plays sax he made a cd called safe sax

  • P.J. & Donnie were great mates.Donnie was not too happy when P.J. scored a massive hit with this song in Australia. I prefer P.J's version. Donnie died in 2007. RON

  • @rontenn PJ and Donnie Brooks were great mates? Now that Donnie is dead PJ's spreading gossip that Donnie was jealous of his success in Australia? Donnie's 1960 recording of this song reached #7 in the U.S. Not likely he cared much what PJ's version did down under five years later! Try comparing Australia's population and share of the global music market to that of the US. LOL

  • @nawlins4evah Donnie & P.J. hung out together in Hollywood in the late 50's.P.J. told the story of Donnie not being happy he had the hit in Oz with "Mission Bell" a long time before Donnie passed away.He even offered him some of the royalties at the time to make him happy. Once again think before you post the rubbish you do! You don't know a lot.

  • @rontenn I suppose you don't know PJ has moaned in radio interviews that he's never made any money from his recordings, only from his live performances. Kind of hard to share "royalties" from that big hit record when he wasn't getting any don't you think? Where did you get the rubbish story you just told? Has PJ changed his tune since those interviews?

  • @nawlins4evah Listen pal! The story of P.J. offering some of his royalties to Donnie was told to me by P.J. himself. When he says in radio interviews he's never made any money from his recordings he doesn't mean not a single penny came his way!(DOH!) He means that like most artistes he did not receive what he should have done. You are a very, very strange person with not much understanding of anything.Get with it & hold fire with your naive comments!

  • @rontenn No you listen squirt! I don't care what he's told you, PJ said in a radio interview earlier this year that EMI has never paid him anything for his records and they owe him millions. You're the "naive" one if you think radio stations, retailers etc. are supposed to pay royalties directly to artists or writers. So where did that money come from for Mission Bell? Sounds like you've announced publicly that PJ Proby was getting a cut of something under the table. Want to rephrase that? LOL

  • @nawlins4evah You are nothing but a big "shit stirrer"! I'll rephrase nothing! You can think what you like because no-one is interested in your rubbish comments! I'll say it once again.....P.J. along with many other 60's artistes were cheated out of lots of royalties by their respective record companies.P.J. only got a fraction of what he should have received.

  • @rontenn This all boils down to PJ bragging about being a millionaire with an entourage and several houses, then poor-mouthing about being cheated out of millions whenever he wants sympathy. Then you come along and parrot everything he says as though it makes perfect sense. You haven't any idea how outlandish those claims are. It's obvious you know zilch about the music business in 1965 and you don't have the gumption to find out because it's easier to be PJ's puppet.

  • @nawlins4evah. Think what you like......I've reached the top in everything I've ever done. P.J. was a millionaire by the way but he was not paid all of the millions he should have been. This means he's still owed them! You say I haven't any idea about his outlandish claims....I know for sure I have! It's definitely you with the zilch factor....you get some gumption & you prove Proby wrong . There's no way you can because you're an outsider looking in!

  • @rontenn There's another yt video of PJ Proby singing Mission Bell in Sweden and talking about the song. He said his friend Donnie Brooks wrote it and was upset with PJ for recording it because he needed the royalties to feed his 6 kids. Donnie didn't write it but if he had he probably would've drawn royalties from PJ's recording. If he was a friend, PJ would know he didn't have 6 kids. The whole story adds up to a load of bull.

  • @nawlins4evah. 6 kids,60 kids? who cares? Maybe Brooks used a pseudo name to write songs? Once again Who cares? Get a life!

  • @rontenn Who cares? You're asking who cares if PJ Proby lies about other artists? Undoubtedly you don't. After 45 years of it I bet you and your little circle don't even notice how stupid he sounds.

  • @rontenn Did you read about Paul Di'Anno of Iron Maiden? He's been jailed for nine months after benefit fraud investigators viewed online videos of his gigs. Still scoffing at the possibility DWP is watching videos of PJ Proby's shows? You can't get any more online than youtube.

  • @JudicialError The British justice system sucks!!! They'll deliberately find certain people guilty of "peanuts" fraud but in the meantime billions are being paid out to any old immigrant & family who crawls up the beach at the port of Dover!! Britain is truly NOT great any more...it's run by idiots!!

  • @rontenn PJ Proby is an old immigrant who has done more than his fair share of pub crawling while claiming benefits. What's your point?

  • @JudicialError Please tell me what passport P.J. has? you know everything so that should be easy for you to answer! When you supply the answer I'll state my point!

  • @rontenn Why would anybody care about his passport? Actually he may not have one considering the status of his court case. If you're trying to say a British passport has a bearing on whether he's an immigrant it doesn't.

  • @JudicialError. It makes a huge difference in court if the accused is a British citizen or in P.J.'s case still an American. He may even have dual nationality. Maybe the U.K. government are claiming money that they have never even paid out......who knows? It's so complicated when you're a foreigner living in another country. By the way if P.J. still is an American citizen then he's not an immigrant. Back to the song!! This is easily the best ever version of "Mission Bell"....DING DONG!

  • @rontenn I noticed PJ Proby's pal Wes Bryan has been posting youtube comments about PJ performing in "small venues" now. Have the Proby folks changed their tune now that he's been charged with collecting benefits while hiding income? They were boasting about huge audiences and packed houses before that Iron Maiden guy was convicted of benefits fraud.

  • @rontenn PJ Proby left the US and settled in the UK. That makes him an immigrant. Citizenship and passports are irrelevant. He immigrated! Obviously you think the word immigrant means some kind of vermin that slithers across national borders in the dark of night. DING DONG!!

  • @JudicialError. Proby honoured the U.K. with his presence. England was more than happy to have him on board & still are. I see the word "immigrant" is giving you mental problems so to prevent you having a breakdown I'll let you have the last word before you slither into the local nut house with a blocked brain! DING DONG.....very original!! wow!

  • @rontenn I bet the average British citizen feels really honored to learn a "foreigner" like PJ Proby has been collecting disability and other benefits for decades because of his drinking habit and a shoulder he says he hurt playing US football. Great to know British taxpayers can afford to provide him a house, a plot of land with an orchard, and enough funds for annual flights to Texas and back. We're more than happy they took him off our hands!

  • @JudicialError Well to start with P.J. pays monthly rent on his house. He has not been found guilty of any tax discrepancies yet......if he is found guilty it's a set up. British tax payers provide P.J. with nothing! I think Elvis would still be alive if he had moved to England as you Americans could not look after him & neglected him!!

  • @rontenn PJ Proby's been charged with tax discrepancies? Are those charges in addition to the benefit fraud charges? You're saying no taxes collected from British taxpayers are used to pay for DWP benefit claims? Where does the money come from - the queen? Did she hock the crown jewels? LOL

  • @JudicialError You are a pain in the ass! Charged with doing something does not mean that you have been found guilty! Hang 'em high is your motto?

  • @rontenn In 1984 at age 46 PJ Proby told Sky TV (video on youtube) he was living on DHSS benefits "...'bout the only country you can get it in". He's since complained that when he reached 65 the rules became stricter for drawing his benefits.

So you can't deny he's received benefits from the government. The legality of his collecting those benefits will be decided in court not on youtube. But the fact remains that British taxpayers have contributed to his financial support for nearly 30 years.

  • @JudicialError At that time PJ was jobless & entitled to benefits. He would have been checked out to make sure he was a legal claimant. After that he was allowed to make a weekly trip to the post office to get the small amount he was entitled to. He did nothing wrong. As for benefits when you reach 65 only PJ & the government will know what he was claiming for IF he was! Could be to do with the State Pension that everyone gets at 65 in the U.K. Don't accuse without ALL of the facts!

  • @rontenn A recent article on several web sites says Proby's going to court in December over possible charges of benefits fraud. The charges involve undeclared income from performances while receiving £50,000 in DWP benefits. Yathink DWP investigators might be watching youtube clips of Proby's shows and reading your insightful comments about packed theatres everywhere he sings? Everyone isn't as naive as you think.

  • @JudicialError. Do not believe everything you read! Newspapers are always looking to dish the dirt on personalities with mostly untrue rumours. That's why they ae called the gutter press. DWP watching YouTube clips of Proby?....ha! ha! As for Proby playing to packed houses everywhere he sings including the current 60's Gold Tour, well you've got me really worried now!! I take it all back..the theatres are all empty.LOL! Happy now?

  • @rontenn So the dough is rolling in and Proby says "bring 'em on!"? Or is it that he's flat broke because nobody attends his shows, he isn't under investigation and hasn't talked to the press but he's too out of it to take action against them for libel? Which? I suppose the "gutter press" doesn't have anything juicier to print than libelous stories about a hasbeen singer whose known for splitting his pants and talking about Elvis. What's in it for them?

  • @JudicialError . You're more a biological error than a judical one! Any questions you have about the press & the stories they print you had better direct at them. Obviously they do not think he's a has been or why would they bother doing a whole two page feature on him with colour pics etc.? Get your brain & your mouth in sync!

  • @rontenn

What's your hangup with youtube ID's? Everywhere I look you're taking jabs at somebody's ID. You're really desperate to sidestep the issue aren't you.

So you think the press is smart when they use color pictures padded with fluffy text but they're in the gutter when they report news about Proby going to court. I see you aren't saying whether the story is true or false - just that I'm not supposed to believe it. On your say so? Not likely.

  • @JudicialError. I have a hang-up when it comes to YouTube idiots! I take jabs at saddo's who take jabs at PJ for no reason without having all the facts. The 2 page spread in Birmingham's top Sunday paper 5 days ago was full of mistakes. It was mostly negative with lots of misquotes which the press specialise in. Naturally there were positive's too so for the neutrals it made good reading & for the fans of PJ not so good thanks to the sensationalism injected into the story

  • @rontenn Same song second verse. Name calling and dancing around the question. You're the Proby insider who knows all the facts but you can't reveal or prove them. Somebody brings up a web article about Proby going to court and you start talking about anything but court. Proby's been telling whoppers on television and radio since the sixties and you want to talk about sensationalism in the press. Sensationalism is Proby talking on radio about his imaginary 40 year ban and growing up with Elvis.

  • @grizzlygalore . I know all the facts, that's true but they are not for your ears or eyes.

He did once say he practically grew up with Elvis. This is exaggerated but he did have plenty of contact with him before El got really famous. In the latest article it's the press telling whoppers NOT Proby....fools like you believe it all! IF Proby goes to court as the journalist claims you'll read about it, probably a twisted version! Let me know when you see it & also get ready to apologise!

  • @rontenn Right. Only the press tells whoppers. Proby just exaggerates some. You have the facts? Facts like you saying on youtube that Proby showed you a £1.5M royalty cheque in 1966? You must've forgot you told the press you've only known him since 1990 when you met him by accident? You should keep either your stories straight or your real identity off youtube. Do all Proby supporters think it's ok to tell whoppers to build up Proby's star image or do a few of them actually have some ethics?

  • @grizzlygalore There you go again getting the facts all twisted. I said I held a cheque for that amount in my hand,I did not say he showed it to me.By the way I have different identities by the look of things. It's not always me on YouTube, must be an imposter using a name similar to mine.Probably all set up by someone anti PJ like you, stooping low! Either way I'm a fan & friend of P.J.'s & not a dirty back stabber like you. You have no shame or morals! Now grizzly go hibernate...forever!

  • @rontenn Your youtube comments said that in 1966 you held a £1.5M cheque for Proby's one year royalty earnings, you saw the word Allied on the cheque and it went straight to the bank. Now you say Proby didn't show it to you? It's no mystery why only fools believe anything you say.

I don't know your youtube imposter. I referred to an interview given to the press by a guy named Ron. So I guess you aren't the guy who collects all the Proby junk and says he's known Proby personally since 1990.

  • @grizzlygalore You snoop around on the internet & Proby sites & forums just looking for dirt to dish. You must waste an awful lot of your time doing this.Everything you read you twist around to suit yourself & your anti P.J. obsession. Talking about junk......you write nothing else! How long I've known Proby or had dealings with him & his managers over the last 5 decades you'll have to keep on guessing at. You believe far too much of what the tabloids publish. It's confusing you!

  • @rontenn Are you disavowing some of your dishonest comments by claiming somebody else posted them? You're the one without morals, not grizzlygalore. The youtube ID of the user making a comment is displayed BY YOUTUBE to the left of the comment and can't be rigged.

Your exaggerations, misleading omission of facts, and deceptive wording are LIES. You've been around PJ Proby too long and his "morals" have rubbed off on you. Nobody needs to dish the dirt - both of you are covered up in it.

  • @castleontheriver All MY comments are honest! You Tube can be rigged & I know the names of people doing it! You & one are two others are just like vultures hanging around Proby clips just waiting to tear them to bits. Vultures only pounce together & are disgusting creatures. Now back to this wonderful track by P.J. He, as usual, makes it his own & always gets a great reception when he sings it onstage. He makes it a classic.....nobody else can! On the current tour he has no time to sing it.

  • @rontenn You've accused me of criticizing Proby without having the facts while you refuse to disclose them. Sorry but Proby's benefit of the doubt cache is way overdrawn and has been for years. "No-one" cares about your so called facts or wants to play your childish I've Got a Secret game.

  • @JudicialError. You & a few of your anti Proby pals started the childish games. If you were not on You Tube constantly criticising him I would not be on here defending him. I come on You Tube to listen to my favourite singer along with his many other fans but you **** up our enjoyment with crap comments!

  • Amazing footage, PJ fans will love these exceptional picture quality clips.

thanks for posting them, A great performance from the legend, he sure knows how to whip the chics into a frenzy... lucky sod, lol
