The whole Hiei falling in Mukuro's arms? & Kurama "turning Hiei down"? NEVER HAPPENED IN THE MANGA.

It was something the editors created solely in the anime. The two endings in the YYH are COMPLETELY different.

It's obvious he cares about Kurama. Dark tournament? He almost used the dragon again for Kurama even though he would have died had he used it. He was ready to sacrifice himself.
