The new GT's have low power loss compared to sn95 and 99-04 ratins. A 99-04 rated at 260, gets maybe 215-235hp. One thing about modular mustangs, power varies differently form car to car.
My love affair with the Mustang GT increases evertime I hear a 281 or 302 exhaust. And I own a V8 Camaro for christ sakes! :D I love that noise. That's 33% of the reason why I work for Ford. lol
I quite prefer the exhaust on my car currently. I think Flowmaster is overrated too actually. Don't get me wrong, I can make it sound even better when I get true dual exhaust--but as it stands now I get plenty of compliments on my exhaust. :)
yeah but this is not a big cubic inch v8, its a 4.6L 281 cubic inch motor. and mustangs vary on dynos ive seen some do 250 and some pull 300, just to say this again its not a big cubic inch v8........get it? can a 350z's stock bottom end handle 550 hp a the wheels?
The Z's stock bottom end IS forged, but the compression is too high in stock form for any sort of boost capable of 550whp. Stillens stage 3 kit makes 410 and I think that is close to the limits without a rebuilt bottom end for boost. Too much work boosting any car not setup from the factory for boost.
Ford claims 300 brake horse power. A chassis dyno measures rear wheel horse power. There is power loss through the drive train. only losing 14hp through the drive train is great, since some cars lose quite a bit more.
What year 350z was that though? The first 350z's were only rated at 287hp and later on were bumped up to 300hp and then finally 306HP if memory serves me correctly. Impressive numbers for the GT though!
A stock 07-08 Z runs about 265whp and 230wtq on a dynojet. This is the average though, I seen it as high as 273whp, and as low as 257whp. Most people get around 265 though. A 03-05 Z stock runs on average about 245whp and 235wtq. A Z is a couple pounds lighter then a Mustang.
i love Zs and cant say im a big mustang fan, but why the hell are you still throwing around Z info? this IS A mustang post period. these guys dont give a shit. hell i dont give a shit.

What is the point in showing a dyno run without posting the results?
