  • Alternate '4' and '5' as fast as possible.

  • the crazy faces crack me up

  • I MISS SCTV!!!

  • i was laughing so hard at one point i couldn't even open my eyes enough to watch! seriously. comedic genius.

  • @einsteinadonis so pleased you enjoyed the video!

  • They're so neat, they're swell.

  • I like how, somewhere along the way, they decided that Flaherty's character would sort be out of sorts because of a drinking problem. Every 5 Neat Guys skit has him bleary and slightly off-rhythm from the rest.

  • Best faces ever.

  • Rick Moranis death stare at 1:10.

  • Comment removed

  • there are tears in my eyes

  • What a great sample of the genius that was SCTV. I also love their version of Stairway to Heaven.

  • I love how all the songs sound the same.

  • Who put the Pennies in My Loafers? She Does It!

  • Yeah, it'd be real swell, and, well real neat!

  • SCTV. The most underrated show in television history! I'm so glad the cast went on to become famous. They deserve it. Suddenly I feel like having a party in my rec. room; if my mom doesn't mind :)

I have a feeling no gals would show up at their party.

  • @Allanoster, it will be fun anyway.

  • Some things never change. It's 12:14am and I know I should be going to bed but can't stop watching. Dave Thomas doesn't get enough credit for his K-Tel pitchman voice... makes the final touch on so many of these.

  • Listen very closely as the songs continue under the announcer's voice-over, because I think they're slipping some *really* inappropriate things past the censors. I caught, "She'll do it anywhere she please/She'll do it on her back and on her knees...."

  • I'm the goof in the classroom

And I don't mind if kids pick on me!

  • haha corniest thing ever

  • Gosharootee, are they ever neat! LOL☺

  • Four people are not neat!

  • She does it, she does it,..the whole town says she does it...GUFFAW!

  • patsy has the biggest breasts in town, i laugh my ass off, my 15 year old thinks i'm strange

  • @adamfi123, let him think that!!!

  • They all have a pillow on their waist to look overweight.. except John Candy (#5). LOL.

  • I'd love it if this was a ringtone

  • I love how the tone of the songs suddenly jumps from stupid to inappropriate.

  • SCTV's K-TEL stuff was always about $5 more than the real thing.

  • Brilliant, even on on your whites!

  • When I was 12, I would sneak out of bed at midnight, grab a snack, plug the old earjack into the TV, and try not to laugh too loudly at SCTV when they showed it on Nick at Nite. My mom caught me one night and instead of yelling at me or banning me from TV, she gave me my own set of blank VHS tapes so I could record these geniuses of comedy. I never saw this one, though. I love it!! Thanks for posting these gems on YouTube. :)

  • @crazysingingchick, such a neat image of you with the TV! I'm glad your mom cooperated and got the tapes.

  • Is this available on MP3?

  • @vmvlkc, if you're asking if there's an mp3 version of this "album," the answer is "no," simply because it's not a real album. If I'm misunderstanding your question, I apologize.

  • Joe Flaherty is the best, drunk and wavering around!!! LOL!!!

  • Is it me, or does Joe Flattery look like a serial killer in this sketch?

  • I so want this to be a real album.

  • I am dying right now of a laughing fit...goodbye, all. I regret noooohting...

  • Ironically, one of their dirtiest sketches. And it works.

  • "She does it! She does it! the whole town says she does it!" lol

  • @mondocaneman I know!!! I really love that one!! lol

  • I'd love to drive down the club district and blast these tunes from my car.

  • @Bagelbutcher, I would seriously rock out to it if you did.

  • @Bagelbutcher - YES!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man, John Candy's face in the close-up shot kills me every time.

  • love all their fake stomachs!

  • I wish the dipshits who call themselves "comedians" these days were half as funny as SCTV. SCTV wasn't crude, controversial, or preachy-- it was just funny.

  • John Candy! (#5) R.I.P we all miss you!

  • Rick Moranis at 1:17 is psychotic.

  • Betsy Has The Largest Breasts In Town

    What a classic!

  • She does it! She does it!

  • Where can I get this I can't find it anywhere?

  • Those Are Available only on Floppy Disk on The Floppy Disk Player.

My Wife Bought Thaton My Grandmother's 48th Birthday. (1984)

  • i fixed egg salad this morning for my hubby!!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha

    I love it!

  • @cackicoo, I hope he sang to you!

  • @cackicoo made the egg salad sandwiches!

  • I remember " I've got a hickey on my shoulder". I have sung that line for years just at random times, and no one know what in hell I am talking about!!

  • @pika23, I approve.

  • @pika23 I'd know, Pika, and I'd think you're the hippest cat in the room.

  • @pika23 Yeah! I know what you mean! Why do the girls run away when I mumble lines from that great old song "She does it, she does it! The whole town knows she does it!".

  • ha ha ha, I'd buy that album

  • @rozzie101, I would, too.

  • "She does it, she does it,

    the whole town,

    says she does it.

    Beautiful singing.

  • ktel. remember that.

  • John Candy's face at 1:25 is priceless!

  • "I won't date just any girl around, 'cause Patsy has the largest breasts in town."

  • The late John Candy, Joe Flahtery, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas were the 5 Neat Guys.

  • I loved Johnny La Rue when I watched SCTV on Public TV in the 70's 80's along with those crazy Canadian cartoon's, that always followed it!! Remember SCTV 1984 show? CCCP tv, and of course Count Floyd... Miss the show, I always thought it was better than SNL.

  • @usmctanks1, it was amazing stuff.

  • I loved Johnny La Rue when I watched SCTV on Public TV in the 70's 80's along with those crazy Canadian cartoon's, that always followed it!! Remember SCTV 1984 show? CCCP tv, and of course Count Floyd... Miss the show, I always thought it was better than SNL

  • Oh, thank you thank you thank you thank you!! I miss SCTV so MUCH!!!

  • @TheBlueRose2008, this is my birthday and I've felt a bit like....well.....Connie Franklin, and your comment gave me a much-needed smile.

  • @fredhetz Aww, Fred... Connie and I want you to be happy, happy, ha-a-a-a-py...

  • @simplyscrummy, giggle....you're nice, too.

  • @fredhetz Back at you, kid.

  • @simplyscrummy, Fred smiles. (Who did make the egg salad sandwiches?)

  • @fredhetz I think it was Mr. E.U.B. Steubing. But I might be LYING...

  • @simplyscrummy, I KNEW IT!

  • @fredhetz

That's so 'Neat' to hear!! Happy Birthday!

    ;~}}

  • @TheBlueRose2008, thank you. You're nice.

  • ...lol...this is epic shit. Gotta be an acadimia awardis' somewhere for this..lol

  • "I'm the goof in my classroom."

    f---ing HIIIIIILLLLLLAAAAAARRRRRRIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOUUUUSSSSSS!!!!!

    thanks for the post.

  • @spamcoli, my pleasure!

  • Fredhetz, A record from K-Tell. I'm old enough and remember

well enough, to hear their first album "Fantastic."

  • @Toruscos, we're about the same age! I have vivid memories of K-Tel and their records.

  • I love how Joe Flaherty always plays the drunk Neat Guy

  • Oh my God, this video just completely made my day. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Thanks for posting!!!!

  • @travisandlisa1, your post made me smile. And you're very welcome for the post!

  • Lol, THEEEE Best!!!

  • Egg salad sandwiches are just funny to mention in any context.

  • @BeccaLaughsAtBecca, I laughed with you (but not at you) when you just mentioned them.

  • SCTV........simply masters of sarcastic comedy!

  • I've seen this about a hundred times and there are so many precious details to enjoy. Rick's stare, Eugene's eyebrows, Joe's drunk act, "and on the same album!" (what they actually used to say on these old TV record ads)...pure comedy magic.

  • @bzzzzap, you can find new things every time you watch it. That is part of its "comedy magic."

  • Rick...where art thou?

  • @StoryNClark apparently-he retired.

  • Right back at ya John

  • FYI Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas did ALL the singing.

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

  • I'm still waiting for the reunion tour!

  • This is the reason why rock and roll was invented!

  • I think of SCTV as the "Avro Arrow" of comedy. Both were completely Canadian ,clearly superior to their foreign competition, far ahead of their time, would be relevant even today, and were taken away from us way too soon.

  • An SCTV classic!

  • Check out the 5 Neatest Guys, Rock & Roll has ever seen or heard. Two songs in particular "Who Made the Egg Salad Sandwiches" and "Patsy Has the Largest Breasts in Town" will keep you dancing for hours. This album is only available on 8 track & cassette

  • I want this album foooor YEAR I mean Who made the egg sallad sandwhiches??? :D it's perfect

  • @janfreidun, thanks for your comment!

  • whooooooooo made the egg salad sandwiches???????

  • Perfect! Just Perfect!

  • I WANT THIS ALBUM!

  • LOL! Love it. Absolute classic SCTV!

  • @landsurfer66, thanks for your comment!

  • I would so go to a 5 Neat Guys concert

  • @BassPlayerSusan let's carpool!

  • @BillWalker1961 This is probably earlier in their career. N definitely had some troubles. Oddly enough, the other 4 neat guys all died from drug overdoses- and N has recovered and is born again. Who'd'v thought.

  • and Dave Thomas as the Beaver.

  • Comment removed

  • Ah Dave Thomas!

  • @tonyacole, you got it!

  • This is too funny. I know Rick Moranis , John Candy, Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty but who is the "A" guy?

  • @tonyacole That's Dave Thomas.

  • I guess I'm not the only one who wants a copy of the entire "Who Made the Egg Salad Sandwiches"

  • @rvdsm, I can guarantee you are not.

  • I try to imagine some of my favorite rock bands covering "Who Made The Egg Salad Sandwiches"

I don't think even Weird Al would try to tackle that one, .

  • Maybe Black Sabbath?

  • I was thinking Nirvana.Cobain did some weird stuff. He covered Terry Jacks "Seasons in the Sun".

But Egg Salad Sandwiches is probably too sacred of a song for any band to even dare and try to cover.

  • @Rusfi16, hmmm.....you're probably right.

  • LOL LOL LOVE IT

  • @klikballs, so glad you enjoyed it.

  • This is hilarious. If 5NG were a real band I'd buy this album.

Even better are the bits they sing after the commercial voice starts talking, especially for "She Does It".

  • I wholeheartedly agree. I actually a little disappointed when I realized that it wasn't a real album.

  • @pressxdarlings Yeah, I agree on that! I don't know how they slipped THOSE lyrics (especially after the commercial voice-over) past the NBC censors!!!!!!! Those lyrics are hilarious!

  • @rorysparrow1 It's because they're Canadian (Joe the American exception). Because Americans really don't take us Canadians seriously, we get away with murder! Ha!

  • Five thugs pulled my tie from my collar.

So don't step on my clip-on tie.

Just step around that clip-on tie.

  • I almost crapped my pants watching them. OMG...lol I don't know who cracks me up more in this skit, John Candy or Eugene Levy. "Patsy's got the biggest breasts in town" Holy crap, that was funny.

  • jer1er, so glad you liked it but please try to avoid messing up your pants.

  • Luckily, I was able to maintain sphincter control, but it's always a tricky matter when you watch something this funny. lol

Their facial expressions during "I'm a goof in the classroom" is just too much. So many people would never get this type of comedy because it's so nuanced and subtle. It's all the little things like the sweaters and the pants that are too short. But, it sure beats anything I've seen on SNL lately.

  • @jer1er This is a true comedy classic from one of the best comedy shows ever. Check out Connie Frankin's depressing hit collection. Another great send-up of these types of TV record sale pitches--Andrea Martin doing a fine take on Connie Francis, with a different name. There's also that Perry Como bit too. Funny stuff.

  • This is frickin' HILARIOUS!!!!! The song lyrics are SOOOOO awful!!!

  • Charmerci, they're enjoyably-bad!

  • Joe Flaherty has mentioned his 'N' character is drunk.

  • "She does it...She does it...The whole town says she does it." really just sneaked right in there.

  • Ahh, "She Does It" is one of my favourite 5NG songs... their Gold album is mighty neat too...

    "Pimples and pockmarks!"

  • I miss early 80's TV.

  • I'm still waiting for the rerelease of "5 Neat Guys-Live at Budokan"

  • SCTV was probably the most underated show. You had to live around those times to understand it.The show was more than just comedy it was about a lame TV studio, the show did make you get to all the characters. They do not make this stuff anymore.

  • Well-put, usisguy.

  • i'm about 15 too late have caught and dug sctv.... got into it a few years ago. when it came to dvd. since seeing several volumes, it is my favorite tv show. they do not make this brand anymore. it's too slow and personal or something. love. it.

  • @usisguy I tell you, I think this is where Weird Al got the idea for UHF!!! As great and wonderful as that movie is, it was all done before.....on SCTV!!!

  • I see a mental picture of the 5 Neat Guys being one of the acts handled by Mitch Miller at Columbia in the 1950's, what with Miller's reputation for choosing the most insipid numbers for his artists to record . . .

  • . . . such as one by the late Jimmy Boyd (of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" fame, not to be confused with the same-named actor/puppeteer from "The Electric Company"): "I've Got Those 'Wake Up, Seven-Thirty - Wash Your Ears They're Dirty - Eat Your Eggs and Oatmeal - Rush to School' Blues." Released in late 1953 on Columbia (4-)40138. One can guess whether tunes like this were the inspiration for those 5 Neat Guys song titles.

  • I love when Joe plays an alcoholic, cause no one could do it like him, except maybe Brando.

  • wtf is thiz

  • Yes, Patsy has the largest breasts in town.

  • Amen, fossefan.

  • @fossefan Omg. I never noticed that lyric when I was a kid.

  • 1:24 lol

  • This is the funniest of all of the SCTV.5 Neat Guys rule beyond belief!LOL!

  • usisguy, I must agree!

  • Luv Candys stach

  • Who made the egg salad sanwiches, they're better than the tuna and the cheese.

It's so dumb and so funny!

  • MisterEvasion, an accurate assessment!

  • THIS IS BEYOND HYSTERICAL

  • This is pretty cute. I think that you could probably assemble the entire series from the posts on YouTube. It seems like every sketch is on here.

  • not even close to every sketch...but great that at least some are here

  • Five... thugs! Pulled my tie from my collar

So don't step on my clip-on tie!

  • On a hot and sultry summer's night in the Titian glow of fullest moon did my best girl and I dance; pray thee, fall in love to the languid fervor of "Who Made the Eggsalad Sandwiches" by the 5 Neat Guys.

  • cro44magnum, let me simplify it for you: 5NG rocks.

  • As funny as this is, music like this was one of the reasons why rock and roll was invented in the first place!

  • I'm that goof in the classroom! They're singing about me.

  • You're famous!

  • 5 Neat Guys. Way ahead of their time.

  • Indeed. Classes should be taught about their music.

  • I remember watching this way back then...

and now, I think that this was the inspiration for Lonely Island's "Just 2 Guys". Seriously.

  • The "5 Neat Guys" bits kill me every time. Especially watching Joe stumble around.

  • any possibility of getting the show they did where it was like bloopers and practical jokes and at one point, they had one of Eugene where he dropped his cards and he bent down to pick it up and he passed gas and when everyone laughed he thought it was distasteful? Also the Death Of A Salesman clip i want to see again. Thanks.

  • I laughed myself stupid 20 yrs ago,and again today.I can't believe how well this stuff stands the test of time.
