  • very cool music.

  • nice one

  • I grew up knowing this song in French, before I heard the magnificient Terry interpret it in English.

I wonder why the video is about abuse and depression. Coming from Terry himself, it wouldn't have suprised me...but from someone else?

True, he was molested as a child (see Well Fancy That by FB3, which is his own story), and suffered from depression all his life (he's actually bipolar).

Anyway, beautiful interpretation, as always, and beautiful video.

  • excellent song cheerssnakeyesss.

  • Top song sung by a top artist.

    One of my favourites.

  • BRAVO!!! Amazing work

  • someone NEED to tab this :(

    pweeease?

    oh okay... sorry I asked

  • Beautiful..and clever, thought provoking use of photography...

  • This song is amazing, even more so added to this video. It gives me the chills....

  • Superb rendition of a classic song and the video suits the lyrics really well! Top marks :-)

  • OMG!!! i cried allitle! so good!

  • Beautiful composition. Gevoelig. Nice for mill lovers in Holland but also for investigators/examinators of the mind. (CorQuene).

  • who ever put the video together deserves applause for the time and brilinat effort put into this 5******

  • ...I'd like to hear Keith Richards doing hisi vocal interpretation of this song!

  • God bless

  • Terry's voice is simply gloriously beautiful. Sigh.

(Come to my Australian beach village and sing for me.)

  • Bloody Excellent Song Very Beautiful, very nice video.

  • Bloody beautfil song excellent video top marks .

  • This was beautifully made ...well done x

  • Great pictures for a great song!

  • Let the artist breath. Terry Hall - fabulous performance ... as ever, I really love this version. As I look back through my musical history you're one of those special ones,

  • Don't like a socia-political message in the middle of a song.

  • There isn't a message! its the sound of depression and madness, its the sound of humanity realising that no matter how much we might deny it, we are nothing more than animals, we are our own greatest fear...

  • Can someone explain the song, I don't get the message

  • @AlansTips

I don't know, but i think its just about how random and confusing life can be

  • @AlansTips The idea is that you keep turning over the thoughts about things that have happened, especially when they have turned out badly - in this case, the lost love.

  • I keep coming back to this song. So sad, yet so wonderful.

  • This is the song I've been looking for.. I had good memories with this rendition of The Colourfield back in high school circa 1986 - thanks a lot to "snakeeyesss11" for sharing the lyrics.. chillax!

  • Love this.

  • I think Terry Hall does this version really well, not sure if i would say better than Michel Legrand tho. Both beautifull versions :)

  • Truly Wonderful

    Thank You.

  • it's an amazing song and this version is particularly touching.... the video is absolutely perfect, it couldn't have been any better!!!!!

  • thank u 4 d lyrics...... this is a terrific song.. it completely blew me away..!!!!!

  • i miss terry hall'e vocals

  • Noel Harrison (the original performer) would be very very proud

  • @mobyboy Sorry @mobyboy Neol Harrisonj was not (the original performer) if you did your research you would find out Michel Legrand was the original performer/singer composer !! He wrote this in 1968 for the film 'The Thomas Crown Affair' with Steve Maqueen in the tile role !! Not the version from a few years ago with Pierce Bronson, cool actor tho he is lol :).

  • @mobyboy Me again i double checked, Noel Harrison did the original performance for the film 'The Thomas Crown Affair'. Though it was Michel Legrand that wrote and performed it first xx

  • wow!! GREAT!!!

  • wow, such a great version, Terry Hall. never lets you down, i love all what he does..

  • love this song, terry hall is a genius he knows how to interpret feeling.

  • absolutely brilliant......terrry halls a god, didnt get enough acclaim he deserverd long live terry hall..........a song for the depressed like he was in the 80s

  • Believe it or not... depresion is spelled depresSion!

  • Its like the sound of pure madness

  • I hope most of you are aware that this is only a cover. The real song goes WAY back.

  • its so very romantic song.

  • very nice, but the instrumental version from marek&vacek are amazing!!!!

  • Best version of this song

  • Terry and this song do each other justice...shit grammar but you get my drift...?

  • I like this version most...

  • The most spectacular song I have ever heard, It talks directly to my mind..... The lyrics are full of deep wisdom.. and philosophy.. Sharif Hamawi Jordan writer

  • straight on my deep feelings ;)

  • terry hall a genius with lyrics his own or others. it`s all about liking it now

    - Thinking about you shreddedsociety - we all try our best but sometimes our best is not good enough -

Thanks for this post, I like this group and brilliant video...

  • i prefer the matt monroe version

  • Alison Moyet's version of this is wonderful...but this has something really special about it, doesn't it?

  • If Terry Hall had been a singer in the 60s I have no doubt he would have been picked to sing the theme to the Thomas Crown Affair. This is achingly beautiful.

  • very beautiful :)

  • yes, thi version is better than the french original .

I'm glad to have the lyrics whereas i watch the vid.
