We play with cello and violin too! and just like you said in the beginning we always need more cello please! They never learn! Check out our new music video "Time Goes Quickly By" let me know what you think of our cello based rock band. :D
if anyone has the guts do attempt these octaves you gotta give them credit. Besides it is pretty damn good for a live version... Shit.. If you are making mean comments the post a video response with your cover. He doesnt have it blocked..
A studio recording of this arrangement will we available on our upcoming EP due out this summer. We also have a video of us recording it which will be posted on youtube. I promise there won't be people talking during it...
@tobreakcustom actually the crowd was alot more silent than the video makes it seem. The person recording is standing at the back where the chairs are. The people in the front are quietly digging it.
Decent Mangum cover, for a change. Too bad the crowd are so damn disrespectful. It must have been difficult to stay in the zone with all that noise. This is a song (like all of Jeff's) that demands complete silence throughout. No talking, no cheering mid-song, no sing-along for f^ck sake. Close your eyes and truly absorb it...
Take that Uncle Tupelo!

pretty good, but i think the singer's voice is too pretty. it seems best to have a rougher voice for neutral milk hotel songs.

Actually I think his voice is great for this. You can hear the roughness better in the live studio version.

At 3:25 some retard yells, "Anne Franklin!"
I hate this world.
xxMorrissey 2 years ago
Actually, they're yelling "Tim Franklin" which is the singer's name (me).

Well that was quick, Mr. Franklin.
Thanks for clearing that up, but unfortunately I already swallowed the cyanide!
:-P

I don't think i like neutral milk hotel covers. They (Neutral Milk Hotel) are too original.

It's too bad the cameraperson is way in the back corner of the club where all the douchebags were hanging out and talking about SPORTS?!
I personally find the behavior of the rest of the crowd more forgivable- clearly drunk, but at least appreciative.
This is a great, emotional performance of a great song. I don't blame them for getting excited. Go Pillow Army.

Did these people pay money to talk the whole f**king show? And stop singing along! It's not a power ballad, it's about the fuggin' Holocaust..
And I Iove how they start applauding before the song is actually over. Crowd fail.

the "holy shit" dude was a little early, but still cool nonetheless!

Everyone in that crowd should be lined up and shot.

Except for Holy Shit Dude.

thats true, but thats not the best choice of words, seein as how the song is about anne frank and the holocaust...

i definitely think the worst part of this vid are the spectators, which is tragic cause they are distracting

yeah, there were a lot of Uncle Tupelo fans there that night who had no idea who NMH were.
tfranklin 3 years ago
For real, I can't stand crowds that won't just shut up and listen. WHy even go if you're just gonna be loud and talk the whole time?
