  • the MAME ROMs error in the application iMAME4all iphone 3G S

  • @edjisil

If the application is launching OK but you're getting errors when trying to launch certain games, it's more than likely you're either using a zipped rom containing the wrong files that this port of MAME needs, or if it is definitely a 0.37b5 rom, that your rom is corrupt. You must use roms intended for this exact version of MAME.

  • both in the rom as in mame4iphone iMame4all of error and fails to do?

OBS. rom the ta zip format

  • @edjisil

Sorry is this a ms-type or a bad translation - I don't understand this post?

  • Could someone explain or show how to ssh the rom to get it to work? Ive downloaded several roms from several dif websites and drag and dropped the folder into the ROMs section, and even compressed the folder before drag and dropping it into the ROMs section but I can't get it to work. I have a Mac os X 10.6.6 and Ipod touch 4g 4.2.1 I was using Cyberduck If anyone knows how to get roms to work please show us how or explain how step by step

I had to post twice because there wasn't enough space.

  • @NastyMaster

If you're successfully managing to get the roms onto your iphone and they are in the correct folder, yet not showing when you load MAME, then your roms are no good. All mobile device versions of MAME are based on the first 'MAME4all' port, so you must use zipped roms from MAME version 0.37b5. Roms change over time as better dumps are created, so roms intended for newer versions of MAME like those hosted on many sites will not work on iMAME4all. Try getting a set via bittorrent.

  • @heihachi73:

    1) Native TV-Out support. That means the display is not "postage stamp-sized", it is as big as your TV screen.

    2) Why do you call this emulator buggy? Have you tried it? I have, and I haven't found a bug yet. Why do you call it old? It's being constantly updated.

  • Hmmm let's see. screen bigger than a DS? Check. Close to the size of a PSP? Check. Customised port for mobile platforms, optimised further for iOS for better stability, and a currently active coder to implement changes? Check. Native TV-Out support so no lag when connecting to a massive LCD or projector? Check. Wiimote support for wireless 4-player big-screen gaming? Check. Support coming to utilise touch controls and accelerometer for analog games? Check.

  • @Turnarcades

Buttons in front of the action so you can't see some elements on the screen? Check. No physical buttons? Check. Low battery? Check.

  • @Hisiru

Buttons on screen can be moved round, and in portrait mode are at the bottom not covering the game. Not a problem anyway for how I use it; hooked up to a TV with Wiimotes and inevitably into the mains, so no biggie. All phones have crap battery life. Before you say "if you're at home just use a PC", your phone is always with you and when I go on trips I always pack my combined TV-out/power lead (and a Wiimote if I'm spending a fair amount of time in a hotel room).

  • People want to play postage stamp-sized arcade games on a buggy old emulator made over ten years ago? LOL!

Please microwave your phones everyone. It is much more entertaining.

  • which site to download roms?

  • @luismarioflores You are best off downloading the full 0.37 set via torrent or to download individually google for 'mame 0.37', 'mame gp2x', 'mame psp' or 'mame4all roms' as they are all virtually the same roms for all portable platforms.

  • how can u put newer roms on it

  • @j010791 You can't unless you edit the MAME core itself and add drivers etc.
