The fossil in amber here is genuine; it is a 25-million-year-old caddis fly in Dominican amber. Either a model or a picture could be used to express the fact that the creature is still alive today. The important thing is for it to be known that it is still alive. The fact that demolishes evolution is that the creature has remained unchanged for millions of years and that it completely refutes evolution. So what's the big deal in using a pinned model picture instead of real one?

That's nonsense. Many species are caught in evolutionary dead ends, they have adapted to their environment so successfully (or adapted to so specific a specialty) that they no longer adapt morphologically. Crocodiles are a good example of this.

This does NOT refute evolution at all, because we have many examples of evolving species. I direct you, for example, to the very full paleoanthropological taxonomy of the evolution of horses.

Well put. Plenty of creatures and plants have changed little because there's been NO NEED! Crocodiles, sharks, coelecanths, the Ethiopian lungfish and tuataras have changed little because there hasn't been a need.

On the other hand, look at human, horse, canid, felid, cetacean and many, many other lineages which HAVE changed immensely!

If Caddis fly is a one of the specie caught in evolutionary dead end, why Dawkins didn't mentioned that in his "see how ignorant is Harun" presentation?

BTW, Haruns book is filled with hundereds of such example. Are you saying all of them are "evolutionay dead end" examples? Why pick few ex from bk & specially where a model is used

My point was forms which don't evolve significantly do not disprove evolution.

In any case, caddisflies (Trichoptera) are a family of insects and do have considerable evolutionary divergence.

The reason why Evolution was frowned upon by many religious people was because at the time this Theory developed many thought Evolution was synonymous with the rejection of God altogether...thus if a person believes evolution than Atheism is his standing point by default. This is obviously false as many Religious people accept evolution but do not find that a sufficient reason to reject God.

Well, when you disprove beyond any reasonable doubt creation myths, then of course it is natural to just assume the rest has to go too. As scientific inquiry chips away at myth and replaces it with fact, it gets harder to squint your brain into actually believing. I can't say I blame them as the truth is not as pretty as the fantasy.
