@GerbilEssences Yes, the first time I test most of my Balsa aircraft, they are nose heavy because I over weight it at the front!.. :) I forgot to post the video response.. I'll do it now
I found a french plan but the scale of each page was different and so it took ages to cut the shapes. I pretty much made the whole thing by hand, and I felt compelled to complete it in order to teach myself skills for the fokker.
As for the Fokker, I made a wing and fuselage rather badly last year and decided to construct a simpler plane first. I really hope to make a G.1 next though, perhaps a small one but with plenty detail, sorry for the delay ;)
It flies... IT FLIES!! :) Nice to see some progress.. I must say it looks a good little model too, light enough I guess to not be seriously damaged in any heavy landings.. :) Just back from London, for me it was literally just making sure they got to the hospital and then back home again.. I won't go to work tonight though, have a few things to sort tomorrow, so I need to be awake in the day.. :)
I'm glad your not going to work tonight. I wouldn't either, i remeber those days when i worked weekends :( I'm glad there is a routine for your hospital visits, perhaps you are making progress (I assumed this was relating to your sons illness?)
Yes, he's going in for the second phase of the first cycle of Chemo.. the stuff he will be getting now is quite nasty, but I won't go into any great details here.. First they told him they'll get him going on it at 6 in the morning, but now it seems like midnight. I assume that the sooner they start, the sooner he can come home again, but it won't be long breaks between the chemo sessions now for a while.. :(
As for a routine, everybody told us to report at the hospital for 6 pm on the 16/8, but when we got there they didn't expected us in today. :P Never mind, he had three beds to chose from, but he took the same one as last time.. with a nice window / view over London. I meant to film it today, but it was right into the early evening sun, so it'll have to wait until another day.. :)
Hm, I filmed 8 seconds of the view before my batteries died.. didn't keep the video, but I wish I had now.. would have posted it on TuberGlue for your perusal.. I hope that was the correct word, I'm rather tired after a night of hard work, so I'm off to bed in a second.. :)
No I know.. but the old YouTuber came to life for two seconds.. the one that used to say.. "Never waste any footage" and "Always carry the camera at all times". Luckily I have stopped doing the latter and started doing the first.. But NOW I have to fix the curtain rail in the hall by the door, B pulled the curtain OFF the wall, fittings and everything, to get to my sons PSP games he had ordered and which came today..
Well, it was probably more likely the rail that was fitted badly.. but yes, he carries a bit of weight.. :) Not overweight though, he's just a big dog for a Yorkie.. :) Rail re-stuck now, and the shower rail too.. and the washing is almost dry!! Now I have to go shopping, or I will starve tonight.. Had hoped to have a spell of spraing the fueltanks on my Revell 1/144 F-104 G Starfighter.. a superb kit by the way, almost as detailed as a 1/72 scale kit..
It will be a Norwegian plane when done.. Quite colourful with silver body, white wings and red fueltanks.. :) I have sprayed the wings, using a rattlecan and will do the fueltanks too, as mentioned.. :) Mind you, at this rate I'll probably end up painting them by brush, as it will be quicker.. :)
Long and VERY narrow.. :) They have a nice Starfighter at the museum in Elsinore, Denmark.. I think you could even sit in the cockpit, but I may remeber incorrectly.. :) The G-6 video is up and running now.. :0) and I am going to bed for some much overdue sleep.. :)
Better to blast that thing with all you have and take a breather when it has receded/gone, as tough as it sounds :( hope it all takes effect soon. My mum went through some pretty nasty treatments.
I had a text message from son yesterday.. his hair has ALL gone now, even what he had left when we went in Sunday.. and the last lot of chemo has made him YELLOW, so now he looks like Homer Simpson.. apparentaly.. Don't know quite if I should laugh or cry... :)
One of my fellow baker colleagues back in Sweden had a hairtransplant at the tender age of 21.. He just couldn't stand it thinning already at that age.. personally I don't mind, it's so much quicker to wash the hair these days.. :0)
19 years.. and no.. penfriend.. I wanted to write to somebody in England, and then we met up.. and here I am.. :) Mind you, we were married and lived in Sweden for 15 odd years first, before we came over here.. and a few days ago I celebrated 10 years in England.. a very quiet event that passed unnoticed!! Best so.. :) :) :) :)
My wife was tired of living as a housewife in Sweden, and as our son was getting older she wanted to return to work.. but being a small village there wasn't much going that she could do, using her training and qualifications.. so she wanted to move back.. and as I have always been a bit of an Anglofile I didn't mind! I grew up on Monty Python, and through my father-in-law discovered the Goons and Spike Milligan.. all whacky stuff, that suits me.. :)
Certain parts of the English ways I don't approve of, but then I don't approve of certain bits of Swedish politics either.. :) I feel more at home here now, than I am when back in Sweden.. apart from the family I only really miss the nature. Scotland would probably feel more like home in that aspect, but I don't understand a word they're saying! :)
Yes, but it's the sound they emit when injured that's the worst,, I have seen grown men in skirts having to march up and down cuddling and comforting these wounded bagpipes as they cry and howl in pain.. :)
Ps: I may be able to see the Air Show afterall.. turns out I got my dates wrong and it's NEXT Thurs- and Friday! The strike is over as well, so I should be able to take the train.. it'll be a lot quicker than the bus.. will only be able to go on the Friday though, if at all..
The Annual Clacton Air Show.. they had mentioned the Vulcan as part of the show this year, but the official list doesn't state it!!
Oh well, as long as the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Lancaster will be there, I'm more than happy.. anything on top of that will be a bonus.. :)
Oh brilliant. Speaking of Vulcans I cycled to baginton airport and took a little video of that Vulcan poking its head over the hedge at the air museum, I also got some planes landing, but none taking off right over the village which was the main aim of my trip :( I can't seem to find flight times anywhere.
Well, all it says on the website is that departure times are unavailable.. :P I guess it's not a busy airport.. ? When are you posting the video of the poking Mr Spock?? I am still somewhat shocked of the sight of the Vulcan at Hendon.. it took up a lot of space.. :) :) It would be great IF the Vulcan came to Clacton, but I don't think it will.. :P
..and then again perhaps not, as there no doubt would be an extra surge of people.. and if it then turns out to be a 'no show', as happened at one of the main air shows where it was grounded and only took part in the static display, there will be a lot of disappointment..
Nice model - is it balsa with tissue paper? I've recently built a laser-cut kit of a Lysander - I'll post a video response.. :)
2002And 9 months ago
@2002And Thankyou, yes it's stick and tissue - although very tail heavy (hey it was my first ever balsa model). Would love to see that lysander :)

@2002And PS there is a better video with powered flights and full construction. Unfortunately didn't fly so good as required IMMENSE nose weight :P

Great!
I think it will glide better when the nose is a bit heavier...
Did you make the complete construction yourself?
And I am still waiting for that Fokker GI :-P
Status please?

Perhaps the tactics are to spread a rumour but not making it official.. then if it doesn't show up they can deny all knowledge.. :)

Cunning!

It may be a stealth version.. they'll play a recording of it, and we'll all scan the skies in vain.. :)

25 years, well done! Why did you decide to move? Also I have noticed your handling of English, and the humour is excellent for just a decade here.

Yes it's quite a mystery sometimes. Apparently Haggis is an English dish, and Bagpipes originated in the middle east ;)
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Bagpipes was fairly common in Sweden too, in the medieval times.. then they got hunted down and shot, and gradually became extinct..
BasicModelling 2 years ago
I hear they let out a terrible wheezing cry as they die ;)
