based on this performance he would ran something pretty decent at these championships. you'd have to say he's ran the last 30m-40m in 0.90+s/10m pace- which is well slower than his usual 0.80 or 0.81 WR pace. then we have a 0.7 headwind...thats another -0.04s. so as much as -perhaps- 0.4 seconds better...a low 9.7 or high 9.6?...mid 9.6 with good assisting wind. i think his first 30-40m was about as good as he's ever done..looked perfect.

The clock isn't FAT, its essentially a hand time, done by the people broadcasting the meet. As a general rule of thumb you're supposed to add 0.24 seconds to a hand time in order to see roughly what the FAT time would be.

@AchromaticRefractor hooray!!!.. finally someone who understands T&F. all these other morons need to do is watch some sprints and theyll see the same in every single race- even the swimming!!!...the time on the trackside clock flashes up as soon as the athlete crosses the line, which then flashes into the TV screen. prior to that, the TV screen shows an estimate, which is a lagging timer anyways due to it not being hooked to the gun. many tv broadcasters have a sound activated timer also.
