your a lucky man to find one thats in that good of shape he has a few problems but nothing to serious like you said his mouth should shut and his arms could be a little faster if I was you I'd try to find a someone who works on vintage toys and let them clean him up a little inside and out and what ever you do hold on to that box it's worth more than the monkey I had one when I was a kid back in the 60's wish I still had him, I'd hold on to that bad boy worth big money to vintage collectors

MIne was actually a gift, but I BELIEVE it was around $109 since it was in such good condition and came with the box.

I've seen many going for around $50-60 but I don't remember if they all worked properly or not.

I happen to be an expert on these kinds of toys. Your version of the "Musical Jolly Chimp" (which is the second version released by Daishin) is in almost mint condition. His right hand obviously is missing flesh, and his eyes seem to be misplaced by just a tad, but other than that, your Jolly Chimp is almost perfect. Good job getting it!

If it is an in excelent mint toy with box you can get more than 100 Dollars for it but only if this monkey was made in Japan and in this time period like in this video 50/60.

There is olso a cheaper copy.He looks almost the same but everything you see is new.

The only thing is that the hands and feet are skin colored and that this newer one are made in Taiwan.

They are for sale but strange as it is,you don t find many in stores or ebay but its a toy you love or hate.

Mine was $115 including shipping, but it was actually a birthday present from my mom.

They seem to go for $100 or so if they're in good condition and work, but I saw plenty (When I was hunting for one) that would end for $60. Problem was their auction description wasn't detailed enough for me to risk that kind of purchase.
