    Yes, normally the deeper the better......and the best is on bedrock and in cracks/crevices.

    Yep, I dug and scraped the decomposing granite bedrock in my favorite dry gulch and sluiced & did real well for such a short time digging, carrying buckets & sluicing. Hope you get to Colorado some day to prospect.
