  • Classic - proper analogue gear - love it...

  • is there quantizing of the CV to achieve such pitch control? or is that his touch?

  • Okay, so it shows how Jarre made most of his first two or three albums. I've been contemplating an analog modular synth such as the fantastic Cwejman; nonetheless, as cool as it sounds, the concept of playing with 8 step sequencer and changing chords with one finger on a keyboard is the same concept as playing a home keyboard. So, is buying a modular synth with analog sequencer an excuse not to practice keyboard chops?

  • Groovin', man!

  • Love analogue sequencing so much more hands on.

  • Check out the music of Miguel Kertsman. If you liked this video, you'll definitely enjoy it! - MK Marketing Team

  • i recall the major tom with this

  • NICE SONGS

    I love bass techno

  • damn that was groovy!

  • What you are saying is a SOFTWARE sequencer.

The one shown in the video is a HARDWARE sequencer, in this case included as a module in a synthesizer.

  • Dude...A sequencer is something taht does what the name says...it is a player of sequenced events..this case being a hardware sequencer that tells the synth to play the sequence of notes defined by the knobs...it is there for a sequencer

  • Damn...

You could probably get more noise out of one of these than a DAW...

  • @cm2dude DAW = LOL!

never in a gazillion years will they manage to reproduce analog in the truest analog-ness......

and this is coming from a synth geek who lives with DAW's and analogs...

    i'll always prefer the latter..

  • @rformidable You got more feeling over what happens.

  • Funmichi,

The knobs that he is touching and manipulating ( the knobs that go up and down, in a line ) form the Analog Sequencer module that is installed INTO the Synthesizer

It is a part of the whole system that is adjusted by hand and played back in sequence - He is adjusting the pitch of the sequence notes in this video ....

  • This sequencer controls step by step some voltages that controls 2 synths.

The sequencer that Funmichi means has a midi or audio output and not voltage output.

  • i torrent my software anyway :D HELLO 10K SOUND SYSTEM AND 5K SUPERCOMPUTER (that is a super computer if you build it your self) go future! its 2010 man

  • the computer guy knows his stuff. Analogue synths are really fun not many people on earth disagree... still though people SOMETIMES have to take off the nostalgia goggles and get what they can afford, and somtimes cheaper does 10x as much.

i only like the original 150 pokemon cause they were my favss when i was 6 derp VS yea over 1k were conceived b4 initial release i cant wait for a next gen of badass gameplay!

15k in analogue = bring back 80s, 15k in software is organic AI music + subs/amps

  • Fantastic! This has Front 242 all over it from the Geography album. Rad!

  • Keen ears there, my friend. :D

  • That album used a Yamaha CS40m

  • And a System 100, and a MS20.

If you want to double check get the release of the Geography album which contains all info on instruments used on each song.

  • nice sequencer

  • A solid computer for $500 and several add ons for another $200 is an unbeatable platform. Install the latest Cakewalk, (version 4), with some well-chosen plug-ins for $300, and you would have the means at your fingertips to produce - from scratch - the next hit song or multi-platinum album.

I offered samples of a real grand piano, guitar, saxiphone, full percussion, french horns and cello compared to my computer generated tracks for several friends, and not one could distinguish them apart.

  • What are the best analog sequencers to buy? This sequencer is good. Good video.

  • your video of the roland mc8 remember me the sequencer used by YMO did this band use it ? it's very interesting to see those's analog and digital first step sequencer in action.

  • subs please

  • figa che oro ahahahahahahahahahah

  • The Ultimate Power of the Universe is but a subtitle away.

  • sound is just amazing. what year was this?

  • JMJ? - Superb-great to see and be shown "proper" bits of kit-Fascinating-Thank you!

  • I want all this guy's stuff. lawl

  • ù là là great Tutorial!

  • awesome

  • bello il video, ma non si capisce un piffero di quello che dice, chissà perchè! :-)

  • what is that Japanese(Nihongo)

  • Wow... Jean Michel Jarre "Equinoxe Part 6" sequence like!

  • Really great those analogue sequencers!

  • Sounds good thx.

  • Lovely! System-100m and its 182 sequencer module! :-D

  • Hypnotic! I like the part where the aliens blow the windows out, wait that was close encounters.

  • im just greedy, and as a result i want more modules for my system 100m- that way i can haev 8 oscillators split between chords and fx stuff.

  • It look like it's a ARP2600 one of the most pricey analog synts + sequencers made in the 70's.-

  • It remember me my 1980 SIEL OPERA 6 synt..

  • check out thek2plan stuff on myspace..TRUE multitracked use of analog system 100m, system 100 AND voyager, with hints of mks 30 and oberheim ob8

  • Sounds like DAF straight away! Superb!

  • Cool! I am so getting of of those! How much they cost?

  • If I had a System 100 with every available module, I think my life outside of home would cease to exist. Interesting they use an ARP Solus as a controller. Good find.

  • sore wa ARP odyssey desuka? watasi no nihongo wa ii dewa arimasen.

  • He said it was a System 100M. The text also stated that as well.

  • Hi, I used Arp Solus for pitch control. Pitch control niwa Arp Solus wo tsukaimashita.

  • oldschool :)

  • je ne pas compris la language, mais le vidéo est trés cool. Or something similair :D

  • Subtitles would be apreciate :)

  • wow that a old analog i think is from 1987

  • Actually, the System 100M dates back to 1979. Analog synths like that pretty much fell out of vogue in 1987.

  • Who is this crazy japa? He seems to undertand a lot from vintage stuff!

  • there's far too much to choose from?

YOUR BEST BET is to go to the following website:-

www.vintagesynth.org and read the reviews. Also check out my stuff on myspace to hear analog in action. :-D

    www.juicyaudio.com

    www.myspace.com/thek2plan

  • cool :D

  • i wanted one of these for years, but now prices are too high for a good system (15 modules and more), so ive gone the minimoog voyager route.

    www.juicyaudio.com www.myspace.com/thek2plan

  • hey isnt that like 3000$. what so u recommend as a first analog? im really into music and dont have any friends that are. so i was wondering if u could recommend stuff. like should i just get an analog synth? like whats the other stuff i keap reading about. like the stuff u attach?

  • Try synthesizers.com

  • YES--(but) YOURS IS NO DISGRACE!

  • sounds fucking hot! terminator chase scene stylee!

  • Reminds me of my old analog synth/sequencer days. Wonderful for trance-inducing hours of experimentation and recording. A challenge for live performance because analog stuff always drifts, but that's part of the charm I guess.

  • Your videos are amazing, man :D

  • Oh my god. SO AWESOME! I WANT ONE NOW!
