Okay, so it shows how Jarre made most of his first two or three albums. I've been contemplating an analog modular synth such as the fantastic Cwejman; nonetheless, as cool as it sounds, the concept of playing with 8 step sequencer and changing chords with one finger on a keyboard is the same concept as playing a home keyboard. So, is buying a modular synth with analog sequencer an excuse not to practice keyboard chops?
Dude...A sequencer is something taht does what the name says...it is a player of sequenced events..this case being a hardware sequencer that tells the synth to play the sequence of notes defined by the knobs...it is there for a sequencer
The knobs that he is touching and manipulating ( the knobs that go up and down, in a line ) form the Analog Sequencer module that is installed INTO the Synthesizer
It is a part of the whole system that is adjusted by hand and played back in sequence - He is adjusting the pitch of the sequence notes in this video ....
i torrent my software anyway :D HELLO 10K SOUND SYSTEM AND 5K SUPERCOMPUTER (that is a super computer if you build it your self) go future! its 2010 man
the computer guy knows his stuff. Analogue synths are really fun not many people on earth disagree... still though people SOMETIMES have to take off the nostalgia goggles and get what they can afford, and somtimes cheaper does 10x as much.
i only like the original 150 pokemon cause they were my favss when i was 6 derp VS yea over 1k were conceived b4 initial release i cant wait for a next gen of badass gameplay!
15k in analogue = bring back 80s, 15k in software is organic AI music + subs/amps
A solid computer for $500 and several add ons for another $200 is an unbeatable platform. Install the latest Cakewalk, (version 4), with some well-chosen plug-ins for $300, and you would have the means at your fingertips to produce - from scratch - the next hit song or multi-platinum album.
I offered samples of a real grand piano, guitar, saxiphone, full percussion, french horns and cello compared to my computer generated tracks for several friends, and not one could distinguish them apart.

your video of the roland mc8 remember me the sequencer used by YMO did this band use it ? it's very interesting to see those's analog and digital first step sequencer in action.
If I had a System 100 with every available module, I think my life outside of home would cease to exist. Interesting they use an ARP Solus as a controller. Good find.
hey isnt that like 3000$. what so u recommend as a first analog? im really into music and dont have any friends that are. so i was wondering if u could recommend stuff. like should i just get an analog synth? like whats the other stuff i keap reading about. like the stuff u attach?
Reminds me of my old analog synth/sequencer days. Wonderful for trance-inducing hours of experimentation and recording. A challenge for live performance because analog stuff always drifts, but that's part of the charm I guess.
Classic - proper analogue gear - love it...

is there quantizing of the CV to achieve such pitch control? or is that his touch?

this is not a sequencer, this is a synthesizer. a sequencer is to record midi and audio.
Funmichi 2 years ago
What you are saying is a SOFTWARE sequencer.
The one shown in the video is a HARDWARE sequencer, in this case included as a module in a synthesizer.

you can also record audio and midi also with a HARDWARE sequencer...
there is no difference.
but this is deffinitely a synthesizer, I cant see a sequencer.

Damn...
You could probably get more noise out of one of these than a DAW...
cm2dude 2 years ago
@cm2dude DAW = LOL!
never in a gazillion years will they manage to reproduce analog in the truest analog-ness......
and this is coming from a synth geek who lives with DAW's and analogs...
i'll always prefer the latter..

This sequencer controls step by step some voltages that controls 2 synths.
The sequencer that Funmichi means has a midi or audio output and not voltage output.

Actually, the System 100M dates back to 1979. Analog synths like that pretty much fell out of vogue in 1987.
