Have you tried to play like Ron Woods lately. It's very well to criticize, but send me the lead brake to this song played by you. I'll be waiting a long time, for sure.
@cyoteblues I much prefer trying to play like Albert Collins, and or Albert King actually. I do the Bob Seger version of this pretty good for an old fart in clubs and dives. Admittedly I'm not a great lead guitarist but a couple young guys that play in my band would blow this pretty boy off the stage. Woods has a name for himself from playing with the Stones. A Jeff Beck he aint. Bo Diddley however is a Legend. Woods will never be missed. Sorry. Guess I had a hair up my ass when I posted
@cyoteblues bro, who would any of the members of the stones be if it wasnt for the stones? if they had never been in a band mick jagger would be singing in the shower, and keith would be a no body rock guitarist. your saying that they could of somehow got famous with out being in a band. why would you hate on ron anywaays? hes a lot better than half the people who claim to play guitar now of days, i mean look at justin bieber, or Taylor Swift, who know 3 chords, or lil wayne who know 3 notes?
@XkickXoutXtheXjamsXX yes right on ron wood is a geetar god im not his biggest fan of the stones i like mr jones and mr taylor BUT AND ITS A BIG BUT RON WOOD WAS ONE OF THE SMALL FACES NOW THAT TOPS ANY OF HIS STONE STUFF AND THUS HE IS ALLOWED TO O WHAT THE FUCK HE WANT STONES OR NOT VIVA MR WOOD finarr finarr
The Bass player looks like Tina Weymouth from the talking heads to me bareing in mind she was also playing with the Stones for a while!! See what you mean about the Geetaw!
@algrand90 hahahaha idk but 1:14 is where it disappears and the strat comes out. most likely just two different nights or something. doubt that he switched before the song started
Wood, and for that matter the Stones - mere lightweights + out of their class compared with the great Bo. And you can see from this flim that Bo was well aware of that (and so was Wood). Bo had a big heart to team up on stage with some of the men who had ripped him off most. RIP - and thanks for the magic.
Pretty ridiculous, considering the Stones version of Mona eats Bo's lunch. They respected Bo as an influence, but the world's greatest Rock N' Roll band are FAAAAAAAAR more than lightweights.
rock musicians are such narcistic fools...ok so they are loud...that s about it...the ignorant masses are easilty taken in by the basest display of vulgarity
Nice clip, but how come Ronnie straps on a telecaster copy with ( complete with B-bender) which magically turns into a vintage strat.... beautiful music though. Thanks for sharing.
I like Bo and RS too, but also was a good variant of this song in "Last Waltz" concert (Band) by Dr. John !!!!!!!!! (...in the ancient time, in 1976.....)
check how short ronnies trousers are...whats going on there man, all that freebasing he done, must have forgot whos trousers he put on that morning..probably keiths..
i think you mean did that telecaster magically turn into a strat haha. but yeah it did, and i think it was actually a Peavey Telecaster if not, if had a "custom"neck/head
@bluesboy25000 I wish he would've stayed with the original speed. Sometimes I wonder if recording stars realize that the sound that made a record a hit shouldn't be messed with. It's almost seems like he was tired of playing it and wanted it over.
Perfect rock n' roll. Before punk, metal, and everything else found a way to use it (which wasn't always a bad thing). The times need to be brought back, when it was found in juke joints around the world, Eddie, Elvis, Bo, Chuck, etc.
Appearing on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1955, Mr. Diddley was asked to play Tennessee Ernie Ford's "Sixteen Tons" Without telling Mr. Sullivan, he played "Bo Diddley" instead. Afterward, in an off-camera confrontation, Mr. Sullivan told him that he would never work in television again. Mr. Diddley did not play again on a network show for 10 years.
