  • woah he looks so old...I mean young...in this vid

  • @speaker3600 joe satrinai was 32 in thsi video...he was 28 when he made the record

  • I love Joe Satriani!!

  • The greatest "love song" ...never sung!

It obviously doesn't need words - the crowd response is proof of that!

Gives me goosebumps and gives me tears- that piece of music is genius!

  • muss nid sei

  • hey this isnt vin diesel on guitar : <

  • HE HAD HAIR?!

  • 13 dislikes ,can't understand whats not to like.

  • My favorite instrumental song! It´s a magic thing, everytime I listen to it!

I saw him live, unfortunatly the crowd was screaming so much, when he played this, so you couldn´t here the song! I prefer this song in a quiet atmossphere, the best way to listen to it, is when you put your headphones on!

  • Satch with hair, nice :)

  • Worth listening to.

  • ESSE CARA É MELHOR

    JOE SATRIANI

  • haha in this one he looks like the rowdy from stephen kings movie "it"

  • Wow great he still used Marshall 6100,

and sure the long hair :)

  • @nasyasatch Do you know what kind of 6100 he uses? Lm og Le? Would like to know cause i want to buy that amp :)

  • Comment removed

  • @stefanboy2 I think the LE (blue).

  • @stefanboy2 Hmm but it looks black but then i know he uses el34 so that would make an LE anyway:) Love that mix between hendrix and van halen :D

  • @BLUEScrazy omg i thought that months ago when i watched that movie i totally agree with u

  • hey does anybody know how he makes the guitar sound like its feedbacking (example being at the end of the song where he plays the note and it slowly starts to "scream" before he whammys it out)

also i never noticed it before but with his hair he looks like tommy oliver from power rangers from certain angles :D but that might just be me

  • @BLUEScrazy thats exactly what it is. its controlled feedback that causes the note to vibrate longer and ring out like a harmonic.

  • BTW, n3iyr, I'm from the planet that dominates your planet, and manipulates you to do funny stuff, like stuffing your ears full of your own shit, enabling you to hear things right!! Hahaha...

  • This song on his new "Live from Paris" DVD and CD is outstanding. It has been re-composed a bit and the sound is so much better due to Mr. Satriani's care for perfect tone and hitting every note. He is in tune with the audience and the band, and makes everything come together very well. The song evolves into a shreadfest in Paris. This shows you definitely have shit for brains and should stop smoking that crap before it's too late. You are clearly delusional.

  • Listen to any artist that has

played a tune for 20 years, and tell me their latest version has as

much fire and inspiration as it did within the first handful of years. That's why

they're compelled to write new music! ..More inspirational to play the

newer stuff...Nature of the beast (Ask ANY musician) This theory

doesn't always apply, but in this particular case, it totally does.

Listen/watch the last two live DVD's, and compare them to this one &

    Time Machine...NO COMPARISON!! S.T.F.U.!!!

  • Such a beautiful version of this tune! Such emotion!...He's been playing this song for so long now, that he just doesn't seem to execute it with the same amount of fire. It comes off all "dry" now ;-( ..Unfortunately. This one and the Time Machine version are the best recorded versions that I've heard. Luv it!!!

  • conrad98gtp you need to stop smoking that stuff. It has turned your brain to shit because you don't have even the slightest clue what you're talking about. I doubt if you are even on this planet.

  • doesn't really matter what amp you are using or what guitar as long as you know how to use and setup your gear and you know how to play !

  • whoa, back when he had hair......and played Marshall's

  • Satch is awesome! Love this song

  • I can listen to 3:13-3:25 over 1000 and it still sounds suberb

  • i thought that was rick wakeman, one of the best keyboardists ever with one of the best guitar virtuoso's ever

  • this is 1992

  • what marshall is he using here? does anybody know?

  • I don't know wich marshall is he using, but anyway I'm telling you this...

even though you have the same guitar, the same pickups, same picks, strings, amps, effects and whatever he is using too...you won't be able to get exactly the same sound as he gets...that's because 70% of the sound comes from the player...

That's why I'm not into getting his sound of the guitar...I really try to get a sound of my own...and hey searching for your own good sound is fun too you know :D

  • satch is the best!!!

  • Hey that guy played bass for Clapton too. Also, Satriani with hair is awesome. =)

  • Satch with hair! Always freaks me out lol in a good way (y)

  • right now ive played for 3 years.. and i know always with em awlayws with you sumjmer song surfing with the alien the extremist satch boogie (learning it in prgress lol) i know ice 9 crushing day is the hardest.. and im gunna learn circles after satch boogie is that pretty good for 3 years of playing? thx

  • Number 1 :)

  • stands a fur.. simply amazing song..

  • My cover of this song

    /watch?v=u1SycuFcGWg

    Open to constructive criticism

    Thanks =)

  • This proves that shredders can play with "feeling" that all of the "slow hand" types want. Vai too on "For the Love of God". Proves they can excell at slow melodic stuff too.

  • You're so right, I hate it when people automatically pidgeonhole the likes of Joe without actually listening to any of his stuff.

  • if you wana hear really good vai, id listen to tender surrender, for the love of god is actually a lot of shredding, i love it, but to get someone into vai id listevn to bad horsie and tender surrender, amazing songs

  • @fuchalo tender surrender isnt that great IMO.. id rather listen to Hendrix' villanova junction

  • one-two-three one-two-three one-two-three one-two-three one-two-three one-two-three

    :)

  • this song is so beautifull/ sensitive and also interesting and somewhat intense.. ladies this song makes u wet lets be honest right

  • Is that Nathan East on bass? :D

  • With hair!!

  • Satriani sei un mito...!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Isn't that Nathan East on Bass??

  • i think so lol

didnt think he would be playin with satch.

  • so beautiful, I could cry..... I love this song . Thank you for putting this on You Tube .

  • "Joe Cool" The man has anti-freeze running through his veins!! Fantastic

  • i love joe satriani hes so cool ma

  • Satch = Jesus

Satch with hair = younger Jesus

  • Isnt he breathtaking? I am 64 next year and just love him.

    annsalady

  • nice nice nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was in 92 at the worldwide Expo in Seville, Spain, my city!

  • Well, this song was released in 1987 in the Surfing With The Alien album, and this gig was in the Expo 92' in Seville, I know it because i was there.

  • Guitar legend, with steve vai and brian may

  • how old are you Azzkik411?

  • Nah they made those guitars :) The Satriani Signature model is essentially the radius series, which was discontinued until the JS's came out.

  • best performance of this song I've heard.

  • hear the Satriani: Live! 2006 version, u'll faint

  • With hair he looks like stevie ray vaughan young!

  • I like the vintage tube amp tone he is getting here as opposed to the effects-laden tone he uses in more recent performances of this tune. Really cool.

  • joe looks wierd with hair lol

  • I love Ibanez and Marshalls.

btw,i love poneys and rainbows too

  • +1 to that bro thats good shit lol

  • Everybody should get a guitar its never to late. There is more out there for the young generation to continue on. View my video and favorite dont miss out on comments and what is happening today.

  • my achoholic father just smashed mine :(

  • steve vai and brian may were on this same tour btw

  • WOWzer! Joe Satriani is something else! The father of instrumental rock guitar! What a wonderful visionary. He's such a great human being off-stage as well.

Satriani makes any guitar sing, that is sheer talent and genius all rolled into one! Amazing virtuoso!!!

JOE SATRIANI. THE ULTIMATE ROCK GUITAR LEGEND!

  • beautiful song,R.I.P JAMES,you'll be mssed

  • WHO'S JAMES

  • he is the best of the best, Joe is a bomb music, his music touch my soul.

  • legend.

  • i really can help but smile with him when the crowd cheers. what a fantastic gig! i have it on dvd! its amazing :D

and while im at it, steve vai looks really cool on his set!

brian may, satch vai-this gig is awesome!

  • WHAT DVD IS THIS WHERE COULDI GET IT

  • oh my dad recorded it when it was on tv, its still a very good copy and i ported it to dvd. i could never find an official version of this gig in the shops which is a pity because its such an awesome show.

next to a `70s black sabbath gig or something really early by the alice cooper group, this is surely one gig i wish i could have seen. (unfortunatly i believe i was 4 years old at the time this was done)

  • ahhhh fuck i why why not realease a dvd of the greatest guitarists ever in the early 90's i was just born when this concert was done

  • yeah! deffinatly!

they should invite brian may for a g3!

    thatd be cool!

they really put on an awesome show together.

with cozy powell and rik wakeman too...its just magic.

  • yeah

  • it sounds just amazing... so beautiful !

by the way, Joe is playing on this guitar at his tour now with Professor Satchafunkilus, isn't he? yeah, he is ! check out the back of the booklet from "flying in a blue dream" :)

  • his best live version of the song ever, this one is not sloppy and not too fast... this is live version is perfect

  • he's so fucking sexy here! !

  • Solo guitar players are sooo underrated :(

    I love Satch.

I met him and he was sooo nice and sweet. When I said thank you for his autograph he said: "No, thank you for listening"

I enjoyed so much that g3 show here in my city. One of the best concerts in my life.

    This music is magic.

  • wish i was there during the sevilla expo 92 most guitar gods from g3 to stanley jordan to mclaughlin played

  • hey guys. pls check out my new vid of this song. pls leave a comment. ill really appreciate it. tnx. :D

  • the emotion he puts into this performance is absolutely unbelieveable, he's a legend!!

  • Beautiful. A master indeed is a master.

  • the moment when he starts the tapping part, the crowd cheers and he answers with a smile is so nice

  • @joeperry81 everytime he gets to the tapping part the crowd just cheers.. it's because he builds tension throughout the song and at the tapping part it's like he releases all of it... amazing

  • @atl2maryland

Satch really knows how to play with tension. His songs aren't just "Give me everything you got" from beginning to end, but they develop. That is REALLY amazing.

  • @nicromis So TRUE!

  • hahaha. awesome! he has hair in this one too!

  • amazing song, pure emotion, great guitar player...

  • Yea but he was way cooler with hair and without the pretentious shades. God those things are dorky. But a small price to pay for his amazing music.

  • shiiit man this guy is awesome..

  • Joe Satriani is such a fucking badass.

  • i love how he plays this with great dynamics

thats what makes it a song

    music is nothin without details

    and he proves that

  • yeah, i totally agree with you! when I saw g3 with vai and ynwie, the result was when satch and vai are on a duo, then ynvwie comes over, it seems like he's out of the two because he all showcases speeds, no dynamics or guitar effects, only speed and it makes boring to me when he came over again and again, but he's great specially with neoclassical musics

  • Joe always has a way of being able to allow the listener to feel whatever he or she wants in his music but still get his own personal message out.Stach and petrucci simply amazin.there are no words to describe it..way to go keep it real...

  • I love this song but is so much more powerful on the studio recording! The live version never has the dynamics the the studio version had. Still a great ballad though.

  • joe is the best man who can play it with great feeling

  • This vid is from 1992... back then Satch used mostly customized Marshall amps.. jcm 800 i think

  • hmm. Joe with no shades and has hair!

  • interesting point knopfler... but i don't know, many players there. so actually now he plays peavy amps (his JS edit) and Ibanez Guitars

  • This vid might be before he endorssed Peaveys.

  • expo sevilla... nice..

  • I always thought JS plays Peavey amps. Is that a marshall in the background?

  • Watch me play satch boogie , circles, lights of heaven etc if you want just click on me name :)

  • :D you've kicked some asses with those vids

  • Stop spamming you asshole, no one cares.

  • wow. that was awesome, he really put his heart into that one.

  • He just now did that on your greatest guitar player list. He's been my number one for years. Used his Always with Me, Always with You as my wedding song. He rox. XD

  • Joe Satriani Just passed Eric Clapton to Number 1 on My personal top 10 greatest guitarists ever

  • get off the crack pipe homie

  • exactly as he said! v.

  • beautiful. there's actually not many satriani or vai songs i like but i luv this one. and before anyone blows a valve, i know they are both virtuoso players. it's just a matter of taste. to me both of them could have done anything they wanted but i rarely get any soul from them, but this one is magnificent!

  • i liek this version betta he has more feeling as u can see

  • Joe Rocks!! and this is my vavorite song how ever sorry to say that his guitar was not happening. it was out of tune. for all you guitarest out there knows what i am talking about. but listen to the 2006 for those who dont and here the differents. or the original sound.

  • It would be more than wonderful, if someone would make a video lesson as to how to play the solo to this song, and canon rock and all those other wonderfull creations, instead of learning Blackbird by the Beatles I would rather much preffer learning Always with you always with me..

  • Amazing

  • no matter how many times i listen to this song, it is the most incredible piece of art ever recorded. this guy is the best, all time.

  • I agree. This song is timeless.

  • What, he has hair?

  • A truly beautiful song. Having Rik play was added coolness!

  • PERFECT!!!!

  • He is a God! Thanks for being such a great teacher!

  • con wackeman la leyenda!!!

  • It is strange to watch a hairy Satriani^^

This song is so great!!! I just love it!!!

  • I've always loved this song. It's like he put his soul in music form.

  • I am addicted to this song, and I am practising this to play in a concert.

  • The audio is not the best, but his skill and technic are the same. Joe is the best.

  • who is the bassist? I don't remember his name , but I know he's a great musician, I saw him with phil collins, eric clapton, etc..

  • HAHA i LOVE HIS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!!

    CLASSIC XD

  • what a master!

  • This is one of the worst versions of the song I've ever seen him do.

  • open your eyes man!

  • Satch is in my opinion the best guitarist ever. Not just including guitarists from the past. I think he'll never be equalled.

  • Youve obviously never witnessed Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. Eric Claptons bestfriend and the worlds most enigmatic and revolutionary finger stylist. Ive seen all of claptons, satrianis, santanas, pages, hendrix shit mimiced - ive never once seen somebody master any ONE of Knopflers songs (except money for nothing but that was written as an insult to bands like KISS)

  • YES, knopfler is one of the most underrated guitar players i've ever heard. i think the reason why he isn't huge like the satrianis, pages, etc. is 'cause his style is one that can't really be packaged and sold...i mean a kid who just started playing guitar, who's he gonna want to play like, knopfler or steve vai? hence you see vai on the cover of every guitar magazine, never hear a word about knopfler.

  • He absolutely knocks out everyone. This guy plays from the heart, unlike alot of the other solo artists. Satch is the man.

  • plays from the heart? joe satch is amazing dude but he in no way rivals those like the great Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins, BB King, and Carlos Santana - those guitarists are unequalled - theyve mastered tone. And satch is probably the biggest asshole in the world.

  • I have to agree with you about Knophfler...one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.

  • He is the ultimate god of guitars. There is no slight of noise radiating from that mans axe, nothing but pure melody. Hes flawless.

  • Kirk Hammett (Metallica), David Bryson (Counting Crows), Kevin Cadogan (Third Eye Blind), Larry LaLonde (Primus), Alex Skolnick (Testament), Phil Kettner (Laaz Rockit),Charlie Hunter, and Steve Vai - among his students...

    He's great.

  • excelente cancion satriani es el dios de la guitarra junto a malmsteen eso es saber tocar !!!

  • Masterpiece

  • His guitar sound is soooo great

  • I love this song. He makes music with heart:).

  • Joe satriani! una goduria vederlo suonare!

  • My favorite part: 3:07 :D Awsome vid.

  • best song indeed by satch.. Virtuoso=Satch

  • I am in awe of the man!

  • He is a god, I swear, he is a god...

  • a master is a master indeed..

  • the satch with hair

  • i think his modern look sucks... he were really better like that

  • bit slow but he makes up for it with extra notes

  • Best Satriani song.

  • i dont like his tone

  • virtuosity it's the way he play it

  • I have this concert on dvd its satriani, vai, brian may, bettencourt, walsh fckn amazing

  • ke loko

    es master
