  • only fake Mennonites use the Internet. olivelevel. Unless, of course, you are not Mennonite and have no room to talk.....in THAT case, stop talking.

  • Only fake Mennonites use musical instruments.

  • I love the Bills & Norma's. They mean no harm, they are just showing/telling the Mennonite history. I went to Hesston College for a year and it was the best year of my life. I am originally a Yoder from Arcbhold, OH

  • Those of you getting up in arms in these comments need to calm yourselves. Yes, all Mennonites are different. However, can you relate to or have you heard the stereotypes talked about in this "rap" video? I know that I have! I'm a Stoltzfus from Lancaster, so I'm "old school" and I really laughed at this satirical view of Menno-Life. Keep up the good work gang!

  • You kids must be students at the Hesston College. Pretty funny video, don't listen to "die Hassers", even Mennos like Fergie. btw my family name Alliman, is the same as one of the buildings on your campus. Au'dee & have a good Summer.

  • i find this video very disturbing to the mennonite world, knowing as myself what happens after i die, this proves how confused the christian world is, i hope you people realize mennnonites are different from state some believe in instruments(most) some dont, some wear coverings(surprisingly few) some dont, being a former pop music dj, i do know where the beat came from, and if you are in the mennonite beleif please know god is watrching and he loves you god bless and i pray for you all

  • scheiss

  • To me, it is sacrilegious.

  • haha that's pretty good, i like it. it's not because they're mennonites though that they do some of those things, but because it's the right thing to do as Christians

  • Millersburg Mennonite Church‎unstarred- more info »

    288 East Jackson Street, Millersburg, OH‎ - (330) 674-7700‎

  • I grew up going to an old colony mennonite church...there, they have no instruments, there is a preacher and on both sides of him are singers, all male. The females and males are on separate sides, men on the right, females on the left. Now, I have been going to what is referred to as an evanglican mennonite church, they have pianos, guitars, drums, etc. Mixed gender seating, and the youth group bands tend to perform at sunday cerimonies.

  • Well im a mennonite and go to mennonite church here in mexico and have praise and worship there all kinda interuments even drums electric guitar and we praise the good lord.

  • they dont belive in musicale Insteruments

  • HA HA HA HA you're stupid

  • @fixitnate How am I stupid I am telling the truth they dont use insteruments Just let you know I have been going to an older mennonite church for the 5 months

  • I don't know what kind of Mennonite church you go to, must be a deep, dark, long-lost old-order church or something. Lifelong Mennonite here, not a 5-month short-termer, grandparents were actually Amish back in the day. Be hard pressed to find someone in my church who doesn't play some sort of musical instrument. Sorry for the knee-jerk response, but "They" includes me and a whole lot (thousands) of other Mennonites I know that have no problem with musical instruments... or even dancing.

  • @jessejmorris2nd You've just been going to a Mennonite church for only 5 months..dude you needs to open your eyes, not all Mennonite churches are the same...if it was an older church of course they're not going to believe in musical instruments! They worship much like their cousins the Amish do! I went to a Mennonite church most of my life, I'm 25 and I can assure you, not all Mennonite churches are the same! I participated on our churches puppet team and choir for years!

  • have you ever visit a mennonite church before you made this

  • I am Mennonite and I love this! Great sense of humour!

  • the only thing is... mennonites don't dance

  • wanna bet??? I do and I am Mennonite!

  • @ThegreatAuntieDa are you an older mennonite

  • This was so cute. Finally Conservative Christians with a sense of humor. To bad people like ann can't have one.

  • Whatever Ann. This is an amazing video with great taste in its sense of humor. I am sure that each one of those people is Mennonite and love that they can laugh at peoples stereotypes of them. Pretty sure "Thou shalt not laugh at ones self" is not a commandment.....

  • I fail to see in any humor in poking fun at the many sincere Christians who are part of the conservative Mennonite faith. Always remember that the Mennonites who founded the Anabaptist movement were killed for their faith and here we are, poking fun and making light of a faith that people died for several centuries ago. How sad.

  • Hi Ann, a Mennonite here. Lots of us have a wicked sense of humor... this is actually pretty tame, if you ask me. We're not so much into somberly remembering what all of our martyr ancestors did a couple hundred years ago so much so that we can't poke fun at ourselves. Thanks, though.

    606 forever,

    Peace out

  • @ann53 thank you

  • bills and normas rox

  • haha i grew up "pilgrim mennonite" and its a very conservative group. i'm now just a regular chrstian and it's amazing not having to follow all the materialitsic rules for salvation. the video is very funny.... because it's right on target. lol

  • Sooooo cute! I think you guys could make an album!

  • This cracks me up just how I was raised!

  • What a perfect video with wonderful singing and song writing. Some inside jokes will only be known by those of us that grew up Menonnite. I have been sharing this with friends and everyone, including those in their 80s have thought it was wonderful. Some parents have sent it to their college age kids to help explain how they raised them!

Good luck with everything! You have made the world a brighter place.

  • Hilarious because it's true.

  • Bloody Brillant! And this is coming from a Jehovha's Witness

  • Another Mennonite family that LOVES this video! Thanks y'all!

  • NA VO YAEDT DOT LOL WAY TO GO HAVE FUN

  • Reminds me of high school...and i'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada. Sehr schoen!

  • As a former Hesston Grad and the parent of two grads, I must admit that I was totally unaware that the Amish went to Hesston College and danced on the counter in the laundry room. Excellent investigative documentary!

  • Oh the joys of being a mennonite. This totally rocked! oh yeh, and 606 IS freakin sweet.
