I found very interesting what he said about how an actor should think: He should not think too much about what he's going to say, but he has to pay attention to what the other person just said, because in a real dialogue, you're forming answers, not single sentences. It's true and it's an important point of view for actors!

Such an in-depth interview with an interviewer who actually conducted it well. I admire the way Alan has set boundaries and stuck to them as far as what he will and will not talk about. There were a few questions in here that we never got a straight out response to, such as the one about free time. I've seen other interviewers attempt to trip him up to get him to reveal things about himself that he wouldn't consciously, and he never folds. He's very discerning and looks at layers, not surfaces.
