I have some trademark experience and think that the WORDS must be similar - at least in the UK; Golden Balls are NOT the SAME words as Ballon D'or. and would not be confused with Golden Balls in the UK by the 'man in the street'. I hope this helps. Also , maybe ask David Beckam to come on board and help you. Why not? Worth a try? Good luck and if I can help in any way let me know; you are my local WH shop by the way!
I think it is completely wrong that this massive company like ballon d'or are bullying a honest hard working couple,i hope the that Mr and Mrs Goldenballs win their case and get what they deserve!!!
this is crazy!!!! i dont see why this massive company our even bothering a family who have clearly worked hard to get where they are, and just want to build up there buisness!! this is totally wrong of a big company to step in on the smaller guys who at the end of the day are just trying to make a living. this is so messed up. something has to be done. good on you for fighting them! and may god bless your buisness.
How sad to see a young, bright and energetic couple come up with a trade name of Golden Balls who have used this trade mark for years suddenly victimized by a conglomerate (Ballon D'or) worth hundreds of millions of euro's. We openly speak of justice in Europe. This young couples business/livelihood is trying to be ruined by Ballon D'or, is this justice. It's time our MP's take interest in the Golden Balls case by acknowledging their legal right to trade not only in the UK but globally.
Is there any justice in this world? Surely its evident for all to see here the bullying tactics of a big organisation who has seen an oppertunity to swallow a small fish. It is sheer greediness and I hope Mr & Mrs Golden Balls win their case as they have legally registered their trade mark and no objections were made at the time.
If Ballon D'or wants the trademark why don't they negotiate a price with Mr & Mrs Golden Balls?
I am disgusted that Ballon D'or can try and do this to a family business. It is SO CLEAR why they are attempting to ruin the long running business of a clearly lovely couple. I hope you get the decision you deserve Mr and Mrs Goldenballs. If not, then I will happily start a petition on your behalf and have lots of friends in the media who I am sure would be very interested in talking to you both! Good Luck to you both and try not to let the sharks get you down!
It clearly seems that ballon d'or are going after the small guy - just another example of a big corporation thinking they can never have enough money. These two have had the name goldenballs for years and make a very strong case. They should be defended by the full power of the law.
