  • Can this be used with a USB Microphone? Singing pitch to midi?

  • @bluegraf No, because the I2M is USB already... You could use a regular mic though and use a 1/4 inch cable...

  • Awesome! "one note at a time" aint so trouble right?

  • Walliman! I need your help my friend! which one is better? the I2M? or the G2M ver 2?

  • @reddracken Tracking wise they are exactly the same. The I2M gives you more options though as it can act as a small interface.

  • Thank you,"one note at a time"I would have been here for days

  • I am planning to buy it, so plz plz tell me if I can use it witn guitar rig4 or amplitube 3 for live playing? And are there any latency issues. Is the sound quaily good? plz reply.thanx in advance.

  • @MrUnknownhuman2 I haven't tried with those programs. I don't know about the latency unfortunately...

  • @MrUnknownhuman2 works great with guitar rig

  • with this product..can u imput the guitar notes you play with the midi converter to a live function music notation software...such as guitar software..and as you play the guitar..it will record the notes with music notation as you play? can it do that?

  • @brand702 Yeah, it can. but only one note at a time (no chords) and you need to adapt your technique quite a bit to make it ultra clean.

  • @Wallimann with guitar Pro...can u auto record the notes you play with this midi converter?

  • @brand702 Yes, but just one note at a time. Plus Guitar Pro doesn't offer real live midi capture... yet..

You still need to enter the rhythm value of the notes..

  • Mine is very glitchy. The soft ware crashes in Cubase too.Gonna send it back.

  • Would this work with other programs such as CuBase with their VST instruments?

  • @TheMatKip Yeah.

  • @Wallimann I would like to ask you which is better in terms of latency the i2m or the g2mv2 and tracking?

  • @woozee100 I would say the G2M v2... Although they are pretty close.

  • @Wallimann thanks, i thought it was the opposite, anyway i did the right choice because i bought the version 2 as i needed to plug it directly to the synth. But in the lower notes i still have considerable latency(depending on the sounds). But anyway i like it very much, very usefull.

    Thanks

  • @woozee100 you mean that the g2mv2 has less latency that the i2m?

  • @woozee100 Yeah, it has lower latency, faster tracking...

  • I got the i2m and couldn't get any sound out of it through Mixcraft. Then I saw my microphone was working correctly (using Monitor option). Finally, I tried to upgrade the I2m and found it would not enter upgrade mode (flashing red) no matter what I did. Very disappointed. It is going back and I'll try with a new unit.

  • Does the i2m software come with it?

  • @louisianarookie You just download it from their site.

  • thanks for the awesome video.....i got i2m and straight away plugged in without reading the manual :D and surprise, it didnt do well

ur video explains a lot of things

  • @nitinlkoin1984 Thanks man, what kind of problems did you encounter?

  • @Wallimann generally the tracking was not good but stupid me....i was trying to bend while playing a piano instruments

I joined jamplay.com and saw ur lessons there....they were pretty good. can u recommend me more of ur lessons

  • @nitinlkoin1984 Oh ok! Thanks a lot for the nice words, I really appreciate that! I would definitely recommend my Applied Theory for Guitar Players and any material on my site guitarplayback(dot)com

    Thanks so much!

  • So, not only can you use a vst, but also use the actual guitar signal with, let's say Amplitube or guitar rig??

  • @uverdadeiro Yeah...

  • @uverdadeiro Yes its a great little device. You can use your vsts and play solo instruments without breaking the bank or your brains to set it up properly.I have yourockguitar that can play not only single notes but chords too but its not a real guitar its a midi controller really with plastic strings and stuff. They both certainly beat the alternative of forking big amounts of cash for midi pickups and guitar to midi convertors.

  • I'm amazed! Next month I'll buy one for me. Imagine pla pianos with that!

  • @rauberonline It's quite a cool device! Remember though that you can only play one note at a time with it...

  • Is that a black machine guitar? Cheers for the video!

  • salut Wallimann,

    Merci...

    Cédric

  • @musicisthemosthigh Salut Cedric,

Malheureusement je ne peux pas vérifier... Je n'ai plus l'I2M.. :-/

  • Oh ok I thought the i2m would have better tracking than the original g2m that I have.

Have you tried the g2m v2 yet?

  • @rickdwhitney I tried it at NAMM. It's really better!!!!!

  • Great video, just wondering if the i2m tracks any differently to the G2M?

  • @rickdwhitney Hmmmm. I would sat about the same. The I2M just has other convenient aspects.

  • could you trigger abelton samples?

  • @Harpo6 If a midi keyboard can, then the I2M can. :-)

  • @Wallimann then im buying it! cheers dude

  • Hi, can I use I2M with cubase or throught trilogy vst ?

  • @gemah Yes you can :-)

  • Nice little gadget ^^

  • Is this available in the US already? If so, where can I get it?

    Thanks

  • @generatemusic I think it is.. I searched on Google and found a few links.

  • Looks interesting.

  • Basically, I would want to run my guitar to an A B Y switch, one output to my pedal board, and to my amp, and the other output to the I2M. Could I use the I2M with Reason 4.0 running on Mac? Thanks, WLG169.

  • @WarLockGuitar169 Yeah, the i2M will work with reason. It will work with any software you can control via midi. :-)

  • @Wallimann thanks man.

  • A genuinely kickass product!

  • This is probably a lame/stupid question, but does anyone know if this would work for rockband 3?

  • @DisturbeD6699 I'm pretty sure it doesn't.. Would be cool if it did though! :-)

  • Is there a way of using this Sonuus I2m in a live situation? So straight into a amp, or is it purely for computer use?

  • @kiaranjay You would need a Y cable, one going into the i2M to trigger your midi (computer or synthesizer), the other one in an amp.

Also check out the G2M, it has a through output and allows you to do the same thing without the need of a Y cable.

  • That's freaking cool man :).

  • @udsahn Yeah, I love it! :-)

  • thank you for the information. if you run into any kind of fixes relating to USB music products and windows 7 please let me know.

been trying to get my gt-8 directly into my pc via midi cable. and windows 7 seems to stop me dead in my tracks.

  • @Moogotoo Man, I heard a lot of trouble with Win 7. I'm on Mac so can'y help, but maybe a viewer has a fix?

  • So~ 2 things came up with that video :D

first: why don't you make a short song/demo using 4 different midi instruments with your guitar with a 2min backing track of your choice :D

    And secondly~

As we've gotten to this topic, have you seen the new Rock Band 3? I know many musicians are against it but... now it's come with pro guitar! The standard model has 17frets+6buttons(strings)per fret, and, as they say, you can use it as a midi controller(since the game does it) and there's also the fender!

  • @Dan1loBr Yeah, a song demo is a good plan. :-)

I think the new Rock Band is cool.

  • I have one on order, just waiting for stock to arrive. I've posted on their forums asking them to update the software to support smart harmonizing, they said they may include it in a future update. Woohoo!

  • @ruairionline Would be awesome!

  • thats awesome, wish it did chords though, i'm sure they'll bring out one which can work with chords too, when they do i'll for sure buy it. not ever been a big synth fan but would love to be able to make my guitar sound like a piano :P

  • @rgjmce666 Thanks for watching this and for your comment! :-)

  • @Wallimann no worries, thanks for uploading the video, would have even known about this product otherwise

  • Can you do drums through the I2M?

    If so, I'm sold xD

  • @theguitarshredder1 Yeah. But remember, one note at a time, super well tuned instrument and extremely clean playing required!!!!

It takes a while to adapt to it... Especially if you play fast.

  • @Wallimann Would be great if you posted a Demo vid on the "Drum" aspect....that's probably what most guitar players would be interested in....I struggle with drawing in patterns and don't have a midi keyboard to do it...

Thanks for all you do David....You Rock man.........

  • Grate job Dave ,,Awesome bot of tricks ;-)

  • @col33145 Thanks Colin!

  • can't wait for your in depth i2M review ;)

  • @ReaktorFreak Haha! That was it.. lol

  • hey walliman how much did this cost you?

  • @abester22 Hmmm.. Not sure. I think about $150? The G2m Is cheaper, about $100

  • my question might not be related to the i2m directly, but do you know if it's possible to use that kind of device with guitarpro directly ? I would like to be able to "record' directly into guitar pro ..

    thank you

  • @gaud2029 I'll have to try.. But you won't be able to play as you go... Guitar Pro only allows you to enter the pitch of the notes, it doesn't let you record rhythm via midi...

Plus, the i2M being monophonic, it wouldn't be that useful...

  • Great review of a stunning product! What synths and VSTs do you use?

  • @Smokon Thank you, I was using the synths included in Garageband. :-)
