Any idea how to make the background effects? it sounds like tweaked harmonics or something. its similar to what you're doing... also if you have any advice on how to really get that sound down i'd much appreciate it.

wow. i was looking at those too. i would've figured a ps-5 or something. I avoided buying the ME because I've already got a giga delay and didn't think the multi effect pedal would be as good as the seperate pedals that I needed...not to mention I've got tons of Boss effects in my BR-16 recorder...but damn. I'm pretty sure I don't have an effect like THAT! So what exactly did you do as far as settings?
Well I got it set up like any other regular distortion. You got your equalizer and noise suppressor and type of distortion you want (it was set on metal for this vid). The arms change the sound even when your not using them. I still haven't found out what the effects are called so I'm not sure what to tell you about the arms dude. Except they make awesome Modest Mouse sounds.
BOSS ME-30. Well I did slide a little at the end but I was getting alot of feedback when I slid and that messed me up while I was recording it a few times.
The boss ps-5 is what makes this sound :)

What kind of pedal do you have? Try using a slide also. That might make it more like the albums'. Thanks for posting!
