I was lucky enough to interview Michael Jackson in 1979 and I told him all about the Louisa Mark reggae version of this song. He was surprised and thrilled that it was such a big tune on the reggae scene. RIP Louisa. RIP Michael.
im 26 and i remember all these tunes, my mum played them 7 days a week 365 days a year its like tv wasn't about rarely got watched, now i seem to play them on a daily basis and my son knows the words....dont get tunes like these no more...!!!

you should not feel bad @lindsay3640 as you are hearing her now. It is just so sad that this reggae music does not co-exist or even better take over from R&B and Rap as the main music again. Reggae and reggae singers to me are just the best and they were so humble too. none of this vanity or gold chain business. Just good solid music that brought peace and love that step closer. Rip Louisa you have now rode a pretty white horse over to Zion and you have made us proud..
@FadahRon We're at that age where we'll be saying goodbye to more and more of those artists that we grew with unfortunately. At least they've left a legacy
@browningbbw Hey babes!! I agree about the legacy, but we can carry on making lovers rock done in the old style!! I've been up all night listening to all types of music and what struck me was that "mainstream" newer artists such as Take That, Oasis, etc are still making Beatles type songs, done the traditional way with real musicians! I'm not being funny but even Lily Allen is putting out better reggae tunes than our artists nowadays! We can bring back those days! To be continued.......
@soulsolution99 OI! you and miss browningbbw think I'm going mad, but that Smile tune by Lily Allen aint as bad as you think you know! Listen to it again, and you'll see! Ha!
what a classic by louisa six street caught you in a lie hello there i can go on great loversrock singer i heard was the best in my teenage years she was excellent we miss you bad R.I.P always sadly missed
I used this track to make a music CD when my mother passed away! Such powerful words.
RIP Louisa - you will be missed but never forgotten. Just a year older than me, I remember rocking to her beautiful voice at the clubs and at home - what talent! Lovers Rock was and still is the best music ever.
Louisa your a star shining brightly right now in the wonderful clear and beautiful skies of Gambia,West Africa, where you made your home. Your light and music will always continue to shine for years to come and for generations to forward........
Rest in Zion my sweeet sister though I did not know you personally, but I grew with the I as my sister through song..Thank the I for the music every time........
@bonsaichemist Thank the I, there are times in life when an individual leaves such a mark on one's life, one then speaks positivity and love and reflection.... guidance and protection to the I, always....:)
Supagraph I would just like to point out that Ms Browning has never been a ratings chaser. She is a woman of the utmost honesty and integrity and I am shocked at your comment. The queen of Lovers Rock is dead and Ms Browning had the sad duty of bringing that news to us. It would be nice in the memory of the great Louise Marks if you would consider apologising for what is a very depressing comment to make. It must have hurt Ms Browning very deeply so please do the decent thing and apologise.
So sad... I remember watching her on tv at the Windrush 50th Anniversary Show over 10 years ago. Was totally blown away by how great her performance was. Just like hearing the record. My deepest condolences to her family and friends:(
Well, when you post a comment on a public forum it becomes everybodies business, you could have been discreet and sent a P.M. but you put out there for everyone to see, so now everyone can counter point your comment,no need for name calling, as you have just proved my point of your jealously because i have no need for subscribers when i do not even upload songs, rather i enjoy subscribing and enjoy listening to the songs that others post like Ms. B.
OMG, this is a sad year for the loss of our music greats, MJ, now Louisa Marks, whose music will live on beyound her time here on earth. I have many a fond memories listening and dancing to her tunes. I have tears in my eyes, :-0( Jac
OMG this is truly a shock!!! The first time i'm hearing of this. Like others have said such a sad year for Lovers and Reggae losing Jean Adebambo and now Ms Mark. After having her classic tunes on old tapes from years back, i bought the Breakout CD 4 years ago and was ecstatic to find them all there. Wow, that voice will never be forgotten in Reggae. Itsa also a reminder that we should better support Blk homegrown artists to develop and nurture more talent like this. RIP...
Hi, the Album is called Breakout by Louisa 'Markswoman' Mark. Some people call it Markswoman. I'm sure the sis who uploaded this tune could help you further. She's definately a connoisseur, her channel speaks for itself. Hope u find it.

I am going to remember that the best thing you can have in life is your health and that I should give thanks to god that I am still here to celebrate my bithday. God bless and keep you all out there.
Wow that really is big news and I am really feeling quite numb inside This has been a year for the greats dying. And coming at time this year when I found out my own mum had died this is a real tragedy. The real class seem to be dropping like flies. I don't know where we are going to get beautiful singers of this caliber back in my lifetime. God rest your soul Louisa and you gave me a lifetime of beauty and memories and I will be forever grateful. I'll remember you and your family in my prayers.
A legend to us of a certain age. "Even Though You`re Gone" you`ll never be forgotten. You brought joy to so many with your music. I hope you`re rocking in heaven. God bless you. R.I.P
