Got to see these run in Sarasota / Tampa bay back in the early / mid eighties.
We didn't throw our beer cans or bottles on the beach though. We just tossed them over the side.
Turtles didn't seem to mind either , more and more kept swimming up to the boat after the 1st 12pk.

They kill seaturtles and stir up the water for weeks after , and it messes up the fishing. They ruin the beach for a while.Littering with all there beer cans and broken glass.
