@jaruel37 You have to remember that Ted is almost completely deaf in one ear, and they dropped the guitars down a half step here, so he's hearing A-flat. Factor in that they haven't played these songs together in probably fifteen years of more... Not making excuses for someone who's been playing guitar for fifty years, but, just a guess.

So great to see them all play together again in 2010. I recently saw Styx and Tommy Shaw sounded great. A week later I saw Night Ranger and they played High Enough. Jack Blades sounds great. This gives me hope that they will do future shows together again and hopefully record new Damn Yankees music.

Tommy always sounds good on his studio recordings. However, live he sounds thin, nasal and off pitch. Check out John Cowan and Mickey Thomas. These guys do it live as well or better than their studio work.

@smitchix Tommy Shaw still has the Damn Yankees III tapes they did before they were unceremonious dropped by Warner Bros (as was Van Halen and other acts Warner Bros considered "oldies"). What's holding up a reunion is, Cartellone is in high demand as a drummer, and the other three have had their own groups they record/tour with (Styx, Night Ranger, Nugent).

But Jack Blades sounded pretty intent on doing it during an interview on VH1 Classic's "Power Ballads of '88", though he never said exactly when they'd do it. He just said 'in the future'. Just ask him or chck out Damn Yankees page on Wikipedia. THAT is where I got this info from.

On the bright side, I saw Night Ranger this fall and they played "Coming of Age" and "High Enough", so I got a nice little fill of DY, but nothing could beat seeing the original 4 up there. They should grab a few other bands (for example Tesla, Winger, Cinderella etc) and go do an outdoor ampitheratre tour this summer. The fans would show 15,000+ every night. It would be awesome.
