I was soooo glad that DY were successful at a time when Grunge was king & hard rock wasn't. Pleasure to see these brilliant & durable artists suceed at a time when their genre of music wasn't as successful.
You Ted haters don't get it...He is "Gonzo" he is the Motor City Madman, he is what he is. And Jack, Tommy, Michael AND Ted are Damn Yankees. Trust me, they know what they got with Ted and trust me again, they wouldn't trade him for nothing and he doesn't bother them one bit.
@tpowell453 Not at all - Ted makes the show FUN! And you can tell those four guys truly love and admire each other and their talents. What a great band!
@tpowell453 "That’s what he does every time he gets on stage. (laughing) That’s Ted Nugent...With the Damn Yankees, that’s really fun, because there were no egos there, nobody was trying to outdo the other guy or anything like that. All we ever wanted to do was be the best that we could be, and we just got together and wrote all those songs, and then got up on stage and started playing, and let Ted do his Ted thing. I wouldn’t want Ted to calm down one bit."
@tpowell453 Dude, what video were you watching? Ted was just going with the flow and rocking his thing. Relax and smoke a joint or something, you're wrapped WAY too tight!
God Fucking Damnit! Here they go with the heavy metal gone country shit again! Bands tried this back in the early 90's and heavy metal hasn't fully recovered since. Fools!
it would have been great if ted went hunting that day...he's the one making all the mistakes in the song, and wants to be mr. attention man...should buy him a cape and a diaper...grow up theodore....
@jaruel37 You have to remember that Ted is almost completely deaf in one ear, and they dropped the guitars down a half step here, so he's hearing A-flat. Factor in that they haven't played these songs together in probably fifteen years of more... Not making excuses for someone who's been playing guitar for fifty years, but, just a guess.
Ted looks like he's having fun, but would have more fun with about 11,000 amps behind him, and the residents of the nearest retirement home in front of him...
So great to see them all play together again in 2010. I recently saw Styx and Tommy Shaw sounded great. A week later I saw Night Ranger and they played High Enough. Jack Blades sounds great. This gives me hope that they will do future shows together again and hopefully record new Damn Yankees music.
Ted looks so uncomfortable on that acoustic. You can tell that he just wants to rip out his electric and go balls to the wall lol In any case, still a great performance by all.
Tommy always sounds good on his studio recordings. However, live he sounds thin, nasal and off pitch. Check out John Cowan and Mickey Thomas. These guys do it live as well or better than their studio work.
you know,i honestly don't believe that the senator is capable of playing something he dosn't have to plug in. i call ted 'senator. he's a very good electric guitar slinger.
HEY !!! DAMN YANKEES!! PLEASE TAKE YOUR TALENT AGAIN AND RETURN TO BE WHAT YOU WAS: THE BIGGEST DAMN YANKEES!! WORLD TOUR & NEW CD´S !!! THE FANS ARE WAITING YOU!!!
Damn this brings back some memories!!! these guys are too good i saw tommy in germany and he is the voice that is clear and precise so is jack!!! Ted Nugent is the real American guitar hero!!!!
I can't wait for them Damn Yankees to reunite. I also heard from somewhere that they plan on recording a new CD. Who knows? If they do either, it'll probably be without their original drummer Mike Cartellone. He's in Lynyrd Skynyrd now.
@MrPman851 get ready to kkep waiting. The first rumors of a DY reunion started in 2002, I remember it well, I was so psyched. It is about to be 2011. It will be a miracle - but I really don't know what the hold up is. I'd love to see it.
@smitchix Tommy Shaw still has the Damn Yankees III tapes they did before they were unceremonious dropped by Warner Bros (as was Van Halen and other acts Warner Bros considered "oldies"). What's holding up a reunion is, Cartellone is in high demand as a drummer, and the other three have had their own groups they record/tour with (Styx, Night Ranger, Nugent).

@smitchix, ME TOO! Even if it takes IONS to get DY back, I'd still wait. But Jack Blades sounded pretty intent on doing it during an interview on VH1 Classic's "Power Ballads of '88", though he never said exactly when they'd do it. He just said 'in the future'. Just ask him or chck out Damn Yankees page on Wikipedia. THAT is where I got this info from.
@MrPman851 Yeah I saw that...but that is a few years old now I think. On the bright side, I saw Night Ranger this fall and they played "Coming of Age" and "High Enough", so I got a nice little fill of DY, but nothing could beat seeing the original 4 up there. They should grab a few other bands (for example Tesla, Winger, Cinderella etc) and go do an outdoor ampitheratre tour this summer. The fans would show 15,000+ every night. It would be awesome.
@thoron42 Tommy and Dennis was the lead singers..... They had equal duties in singing.... There was no one lead singer... Just like there was no one lead guitar player.. there was two.. Not to mention that JY sang a few songs as well... But not as many as Tommy and Dennis
Inolvidables sensaciones adolescentes con mi mejor amigo, una buena dosis de aventura, arranque y estilo. Para siempre. Que hicieran otra producción sería maravilloso. Ted siempre vivo y con fuerza.
Ted is like a kid with ADD who hasn't taken his medication here...looks like he wants to stand up, kick his stool off the staqe and grab an electric guitar and just rock!
They've collaborated on their own separate albums since DY "broke up". They're all great. PERIOD

They didn't go for the top harmony part in the chorus :-(
To my ears, that part counts as the tune, so in that respect, they couldn't take it high enough.
As for the comments about Ted, he does seem a little out of synch with the rest of them.
Shame. Oh well, I can always listen to the studio version.
