he did the video separately form the song, you can see at 1:08 that his lips are not following the sound, is a good idea for better quality , is not good using the cam mic, he had a good idea indeed, im going to record this song for my girlfriends birthday using the same method.

Hi Luke,

I'm not too sure if you have already recorded this for your girlfriend...but I wanted to help you out and tell you how I recorded this.

Firstly...my webcam did not have a mic and as you can see, the framerate is very poor on the video.

I have a microphone on the table infront of me which is plugged into my Soundblaster Audigy with a little bit of reverb on.

I then captured everything 'live' into windows movie maker with me singing and playing the guitar at the same time....

...the downside to this is the sound comes out perfectly because the soundcard recorded it fine..but the video captured badly. This has the net effect of the video being out of sync with sound.

Bizzarly, I plugged the camera into another USB socket and the camera captured in a better quality. You can see this on the 'My Girl' cover where everything seems to be in more synch with eachother.

I hope this helps...and good luck with it!
