This is a big hit in any code of football. Safety concerns are taking precedence these days but semi conscious players still get up and play the rest of the game out regularily. Most Australians know the legendary John Sattler broken jaw story. Its not an isolated thing ive seen players have their jaw strapped to the top of their head to continue playing, courage? for sure but mostly commitment to the team. By any measure its a tough sport. Let it continue to inspire forever and ever and ever
Its difficult when looking at a picture or film to get true size proportions because of forced perspective and relativity. These blokes may look a little on the light side but for comparison most of them would be 90kg plus which is around the 200lb mark with 1 in 3 being closer to the 220lb. Considering they are supremely fit and play at extreme intensity for a full 80 minutes thats an impressive weight to maintain.
