makes sense. the refractive index of air is pretty close to 1 and in water about 1.33. And seeing as the go pro was intended for in atmosphere applications, focusing problems would make sense in an aqueous environment. But why not buy a real underwater camera?
@Llama4295 It depends what you want it for. If you're filming out of water, the fish eye is great for that. But under water, some people want their footage to be more clearer but sacrifice the wide lens
@adidasDC They are coming out with a flat lens. I don't think it has came out yet, but you are right I believe it has been the fix we have been looking for. When it comes out I will do a review on it. I do have some pictures of it.
I bike ride with no lens on my GoPro cameras. I notice the picture quality is better without a the thick lens cap.
Now if you're going in water or doing some dangerous bike stunts then you need to protect the camera just in case.
GoPro need to improve the camera so it could be water proof without a case. They also need to improve the lens of the case cause it make the picture quality poor and blurry.
I have my cameras in the case, but the lens is remove which give sharper picture quality.
@ExtremeRoadViews Good comment and GoPro should listen to you because If GoPro coud make a push on filter to protect the lens when it's out of the case I'd buy one because that's the only serious flaw in the accessories that i can really find with this action camcorder.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Its easier and cheaper to create a camera and housing unit that is water proof instead of a waterproof camera.
Next you don't understand that to create a wide angel lens for terrestrial viewing will ALWAYS distort light while underwater.
One clarification. We have two versions. Standard flat lens is pressure tested up to 100 feet and the Professional version is pressure tested up to 200 feet.
@eyeofmineGoProHDHero Love the lens I use it every time I record underwater with my Go pro. I real love what you guys are doing over at Eye of Mine. I understand having to rig gear to get it to do what you want. Thinking about getting the 3d Lens as well. Will be doing a review on most likely. Thanks for the feed back.
Kinda sound like Jack Black

I really wish GoPro would create their own focus fix.
Eyeofmine are ridiculously overpriced for what they are.
