  • Good job miss.My band does this song and I also hapen to collect and restore vintage machines. We play the song alot faster but I think you pull off this slowed down cover quite well.I got plenty vintage machines and so do the guys in my club if you ever find yourslelf in Memphis you can ride with us all you like!

  • By the way.... who were the 5 MORONS that hit the dislike button?

  • Friggin AWESOME... Damn that really moved me. You sing that song with so much conviction... Surely you own one? You sound like you just got off a 52 Vincent. Totally AWESOME voice... you should sing for a living. Your voice seriously touched me. I'd buy your CD.

  • Damn Girl I love your voice!!! This song has a lot of meaning for me, I had a good friend who loved this song and also loved to sing it,unfortunately he's no longer with us.You have a Beautiful Voice thanks for playing that for all of us to enjoy, You just made a new Fan!!! ;-))~

  • nice, when i was playing live by my self this was on of my few cover songs i did. good job, sounds great..

  • Nice one Christy, you have a good 'ethnic' folk voice. I must also congratulate you on your 'miking' and acoustics as the room you are in doesn't look like a studio. Nice timing and intonation, I'd sign you tomorrow if I had a label. Nice to discover you on youtube, shall look for more of you. Any signs of signing a contract for a record?

  • Love your voice Christy.

  • awesome job , love ya

  • Wow! Nice!

  • come play live at paltalk join us there in the live room

  • I've listened to a bunch of covers, trying to find my own way. I see you found yours. Very nice; forget the hammer-ons. It's not a bleeding banjo!

  • Add some hammer ons for a little extra flavor since you're not finger picking it.

  • But a nice job, just the same

  • Actually it's the key of D you're playing it in

. If you play it in standard tuning with no capo, you will find it is D

  • One word review: "WOW".

  • Love your version of this song!

  • this is verry awsome. realy cool,

  • Hey there... LOVE your version!! so sweet. Just started playin about a year ago and figured out that I can also play and sing (in my 40's..) But life is grant!!

  • Christy, I'm an instant fan. Such a pure and beautiful voice1

  • Very nice job, Christy, you certainly did that song justice. Your version is right there with some heavy hitters. Keep the shiny side up.

  • love this tome and love your version...sweet, sweet vocals!

  • Wow, this is fantastic! Maybe even better than the original!

  • WoW! Nice Christy I'm going to send this to my dad who still owns and rides his Vincent. It's a "Black Shadow" tho

He just turned 78 years old :D

  • @ericfromkokomo The "Black Lightning" was actually the racing version! They were never really used on the roads ! But thats just nit picking ! Peace Ye`all !!

  • Beautiful!

  • That's just a great rendition of a superb song and, in my opinion, you've made it your own which I find even more impressive.

What a great voice too - there's something very calming about it, which would make me want to listen to more.

Well done you! I run open mic nights locally and this is the sort of performance that silences a room.

    Respect!

  • Very well done, Christy. As a rider of a British classic, I can't help but appreciate this song. Tearing through the country roads on my Enfield is like spending an afternoon in 1952. May sound silly, but it's true!

  • Not silly at all. I'm envious! :)

  • @Deltaworks23 HA ! Know wat you mean, I got this on my ipod, but i,m loathe to listen to it over the THUMP of my Vellocette 500 single.... They both sound so damn good. Maybe I need to train each ear ?? lmao

  • NIce. I love that song. Your pretty too.

  • Beautiful.......

  • Christy, I got a motorcycle license a year and a half ago. I always thought it would be fun to have my own motorcycle, so I got one! (an on-road/off-road cycle--a dual sport) Hope you get to use your license this spring!

  • Christy, nice playing. what tuning did you use, and are you using capo 3? Thanks, keep up the good work.

  • Hey ayavner... thanks for your kind words. I used standard tuning (playing in the Key of A for finger / chord positioning) with capo on 5. Cheers! ~CJ

  • Totally captivating ... what a talented girl you are.

  • So respectful of the lyrics...great rendition. Others are caught up in the guitar work that Thompson brings, but it really is the story that makes this song special. Thanks.

  • Really great rendition! I found this because I played in a duo named after the song with Chris Trigg (a big Richard Thompson fan, and who isn't!) in Victoria BC Canada. Really great version!

  • try to not annunciate so much.. slur a bit. Relax, let it flow. You're cute and you're playing is fine, so you've got a real shot...

  • IMO I find ih8thishit's comment very condesending. Musicians are not products with 'cute' packaging and standardised singing technique. I like the singing here better than the orginal - I write my own songs and perform them myself so you can listen the few i've posted to see if I know anything about music for yourself.

To christy - I thought this was great - period! :)

  • Excellent rendition!

  • Beautiful job!

  • nice song! ;) haha!

    good to see you, Christy.....
