For example i would love mafia 2 to have more sandbox elemets and i think mafia 3 should do it, but LA Noire? Hell no, not all game have to be sandboxes.. Offcourse there are mistakes in the gam, but who cares its a 9/10 easily for me which could be a 10 if it wasn't so restricting some times you need to take your time and think about some things

@Playstation360ish the interview system is pretty bad too. Technically impressive but the interview logic is often crank. The sandbox element was wasted and it would have been a better game for just sticking to a more streamlined and classical adventure game structure.

Its not that its what the game that makes it bad.Its what they tried to do.We got those interrogations that make no sense at all.Half of the time they are inaccurate and misleading the player and the other half they lack in giving the player sense of intuition , that is probably why they made that intuition option. Basically you need to match with the creators choices in order to strike the right option.The story is boring but its not the worse thing in the game.

Also, when gunfights are present, they arn't done very well. As an officer you should have more choice in what you do, and not have the fuckin game hold your hand and say "You cant do *your action here* right now." Man once I got rid of La noire at gamestop, I had to buy like 5 games to get the crap taste from my mouth cause by the dullness, linear, Fucking stupid gameplay and story of LA BIORE. I Bought Fallout New Vegas, Saints Row 2, Mortal Kombat 9, Dead Space 2, and Bioshock 1. I feel so much better now.
It does a terrible job at what it's trying to do. The story is boring and there's no character development. The investigations are not intelligent and not varied enough to keep it interesting, and the interviews are dumb (shifty eyes=lie/doubt, otherwise truth). How do you fuck up the story and investigations in a game where those two things should be top priority. Ask Team Bondi, they'd know.
I mean come on, the game was about a Detective solving various crimes. And that's exactly what you did. It was near-realistic (aside from the stupid criminals hiding obvious things in obvious places).
It was a GREAT game in terms of what it was trying to do. You was a good Cop, a Detective figure, and you solved cases by investigating. A fine game.
This isn't GTA, or Red Dead, this is LA Noire. This game achieved what it set out to do.
Good rant, but the title doesn't match the tirade. This fellow clearly doesn't think the game sucks, but instead mostly goes on about how people who believe the game to be boring because it's from Rockstar but isn't like GTA are idiots, something I wholeheartedly agree with. I'd also agree that there are a few critical errors that make gameplay difficult, namely the rigid body control of the PC and the cover system, and it does become considerably repetitive, but it was pretty solid overall.
It's not trying to be GTA. It's trying to be a "who done it?" game and to me it fails big time. I picked it up new for $39.99 last Thursday...played until last Saturday and returned it today and got my money back. It got so damn boring after a few times of playing it to me. I actually felt like I was playing a Sega CD game in that it felt more like watching a bad movie than playing a game. Watching cutscenes with endless dialogue = NOT FUN!
When I started playing the game it felt like I jumped into the middle of a story instead of the start of one. Once it ended I felt like the end case didnt close properly and the whole arson desk was a waste of time.
It needs a good balance of gun fights car chases and all the cutscene shit we see a massive amount off. Personally I think there was not a good balance of gameplay.

Great video, good points and hilarious little added jokes. I just hate it for being so damn repetitive... Like EVERY murder mission is the same damn thing. Also, when gunfights are present, they arn't done very well. As an officer you should have more choice in what you do, and not have the fuckin game hold your hand and say "You cant do *your action here* right now." I dont mean mindless slaughter I mean something as simple as stores / shops, minigames, more sidemissions, etc etc etc

It does a terrible job at what it's trying to do. The story is boring and there's no character development. The investigations are not intelligent and not varied enough to keep it interesting, and the interviews are dumb (shifty eyes=lie/doubt, otherwise truth). How do you fuck up the story and investigations in a game where those two things should be top priority. Ask Team Bondi, they'd know.

Huh, I thought it was good.
I mean come on, the game was about a Detective solving various crimes. And that's exactly what you did. It was near-realistic (aside from the stupid criminals hiding obvious things in obvious places).
It was a GREAT game in terms of what it was trying to do. You was a good Cop, a Detective figure, and you solved cases by investigating. A fine game.
This isn't GTA, or Red Dead, this is LA Noire. This game achieved what it set out to do.

Good rant, but the title doesn't match the tirade. This fellow clearly doesn't think the game sucks, but instead mostly goes on about how people who believe the game to be boring because it's from Rockstar but isn't like GTA are idiots, something I wholeheartedly agree with. I'd also agree that there are a few critical errors that make gameplay difficult, namely the rigid body control of the PC and the cover system, and it does become considerably repetitive, but it was pretty solid overall.

It's not trying to be GTA. It's trying to be a "who done it?" game and to me it fails big time. I picked it up new for $39.99 last Thursday...played until last Saturday and returned it today and got my money back. It got so damn boring after a few times of playing it to me. I actually felt like I was playing a Sega CD game in that it felt more like watching a bad movie than playing a game. Watching cutscenes with endless dialogue = NOT FUN!
This is one of the most boring games of 2011.

When I started playing the game it felt like I jumped into the middle of a story instead of the start of one. Once it ended I felt like the end case didnt close properly and the whole arson desk was a waste of time.
It needs a good balance of gun fights car chases and all the cutscene shit we see a massive amount off. Personally I think there was not a good balance of gameplay.
