I had the chance to meet Carl on his last tour in Italy, I cannot say we became friensìds, but I must honestly say he made lot of good things for people here.
I don't think I have ever met such a genuine soul. When he gave you his attention, you felt like a SUPERSTAR. I was privileged to work with him at a master class at Humboldt State University. That experience has carried me for 2+ decades. I surprised Carl when he was touring and he graciously offered to have me come backstage and meet the cast. Was quite a thrill. I was saddened to hear of his
passing, but not a day goes by where I haven't benefited from our collaboration.
How small is the world I live in, that I did not know that this amazing man left us. I have always felt so honored to say that ... I saw him live in Jesus Christ Superstar in Toronto so many years ago. Thank - you Carl .
Miss you Carl! he has been my friend and my coach during is time in Italy, and I learned all I am as an artist from him! He's alwaays with me on the stage and in my heart! So generous and full of kindness, so great and so humble. Love light music and truth my angel, for ever....your voice is always myrr for my soul......love you

I saw Carl at a performance in a small concert in a little club in Santa Monica, CA. He was electric. He was a superb performer. He was a friend of my sister in law, but I never knew him personally. I just loved his love for life and his superb singing abilities. I don't have a person that I can compare him to, he was one of a kind.
I am missing Carl terribly today. I have been playing this CD over and over in the car. I recall the day he brought my autographed copy over to my house. He was so proud of this CD . I had worked as his stylist for some of his personal appearances. Morever, we were both "from" DC and knew the same people. He was a unique talent and a wonderful friend who took care of his friends. I miss him into eternity. I love you dear one. Will look forward to seeing you on the otherside of the rainbow.
Carl was a dearest friend many years ago, I only wish time allowed him to record Dream Song... but it wasn't so. Maybe someday I'll be able to pay my tribute to this great talent by putting into production the Broadway Play we had worked on at the end "DAWN" based on the life of Paul Dunbar, book by Kay Anderson. ML, Miss you Carl... always will ...
All the faces in the pictures are blurry. Is it just me? I love the video and the music, but wish I could see it more clearly. It is almost as though someone is deliberately blurring it.
I worked with Carl for awhile in an L.A. recording studio in the early 80"s. Man what a great ping pong player that guy was. He was an amazing human being. Cant get over that he's gone. R.I.P. my brother...
We shared the stage at the State of Mind show in L.A. in '98 along with Billy Sheehan. Days after he passed twice I thought of him and his song Friends and Lovers would came on the radio.
Once when I turned it on, I dedicated the Santana song Somewhere in Heaven to him and felt him there giving me a hug.
The hair stood up on my arms, a feeling of warmth. I smiled and kept on singing. I miss him so much.
R.I.P. Carl Anderson. All i know about him is actin in Jesus Christ Superstar. And few other songs. But i feel he was great person and this video showed me, that it was most probably true..Ive ever wanted to met him since i was like 6years old and watched JChS for the first time. And when ive read of his passing, i was shocked and i cried. I'll never forget his great talent and will never stop listen my favurite song Too Much Heaven On Their Minds....JAH bless you and see you on the other Side.
I met Carl too. He gave me his email and I was speaking to him about taking a vocal clinic. I was informed of his passing by his wife...I believe. Very sad indeed. BIG TALENT.
I had the pleasure of meeting Carl Anderson. My uncle (who is good friends with Carl) sang at my mothers funeral in Jan '97. I met Carl and his wife Veronica at their home Venice,Ca. I found Carl (who is one of my top 3 male vocalists) to be very down to earth (smoking his cigar) and playing his piano at his home rehearsing to sing my moms favorite song. I still play his music today. I miss Carl very much. He was a very underrated artist with vocal powerl who i will never forget. RIP
As a member of Agape Int'l Ctr of Truth (Carl's church home since early '90s) & in the choir since '94, I had the extreme privilege of hearing Carl sing w/ us many Sundays. Every time he sang I thought to myself, "I'm so lucky to be here--life just doesn't get any better than this." I think he might well be the greatest singer who ever lived. I was also part of the audience during the recording of his album "Why We Are Here--Live @ Agape." He was so sweet--& infamous 4 forgetting the lyrics!
Carl... i saw you for the first time under two hours ago... i just saw jesus ChristSuperstar... and i was really moved by your voice... so i looked you up at Youtube and found out you died to early, so i saw this Tribute and... i.... started Crying... your vocal is soooo good, you WILL be remembered
I think we all miss him, for so many reasons. I had the chance to meet him in Milan, in the backstage after the JCS show. Amazingly I found out that he was as humble as nice and he was a real human! Funny and cool, not full of ego and definitly a great singer, a true artist! Thanks Carl!
I still remember hearing of his death. I was totally shocked & saddened. It was the same year I lost my mother 2 cancer. 2 wonderful people gone 2 soon. His heart was a remarkable as his talents. What a touching tribute this was. May God smile on you, Carl! We love & miss you.

This is really sad,,I dont know how Carl died,But it is so wrong he had so much to live for and had so much to give,I am sure he would have given more. This is terrible...He was a beautiful singer and actor...Jodie.
I just discovered today, 11/20/08, that Carl died. I found out by looking up info on The Rippingtons, a jazz fusion band Carl occasionally performed with.
I'M SO TIRED OF GOOD PEOPLE LEAVIN EARTH AT A YOUNG AGE!!! 59 IS YOUNG!!
Yeah, Carl's voice is special. But funny thing, his cousin Nathaniel (Nate) Anderson has a similar tone. I found him here on Youtube under "Straight Churchin". Yeah, the Anderson family comes from the church. And they all have rather unique vocal instruments. Especially Louise Anderson. Her voice is akin to Whitney Houstons & Mahalia Jackson. Simply Amazing!
Carl became a friend of mine through my vocal coach several years ago. He was a warm, beautiful spirit, and I loved him deeply. I didn't hear that he had passed away on tour until months later since our families didn't know each other. This tribute is a wonderful reminder of how fun and alive and full of the God-given gift of music Carl was. He was a God-fearing man, and hearing "If I Could" again, which he dedicated to his son, Khalil, was a blessing. Thank you so much and blessings to you.
I too met Carl, I live in Santa Monica and after meeting him the first time, we ran into each other many times. He seemed the type that once you met him, he was your friend from then on. What a wonderful man! I miss his warmth and his voice... :(
I met Carl Anderson at a party in Santa Monica Ca. I was walking up to the house and Carl was coming out to get some air. I recognized him, he was laughing and stating that his Brazilian friends were just too crazy! I struck up a conversation and we began to talk. Carl was the most grounded, down to earth, unpretenious entertainers I have ever met. He was alone and without an entourage. He did not know me, but we talked about music, acting,&life. I have met other celeberties, but Carl was special.
Carl was one of my childhood heroes, and I was lucky enough to have him for a friend. Thanks for this tribute. A more incredible human being I have yet to meet. He will forever be missed.
I met Carl Anderson Backstage at The Gammage auditorium in 1992 while he was doing Jesus Christ Superstar. He inspired me to pursue this crazy business of acting. I was in awe. He said "You just got to do it!!!!"
He probably didn't realize how he imspired so many along the way.
I will always have the fond memory of meeting Carl Anderson in 2003. My theater group was doing JCS and I was doing the role of Judas. The tour was coming to town and apparently Carl got there a little early and found our show and came and watched us perform. I found out after the show that someone wanted to see me outside. I went outside and there was Carl!
He told me that he was impressed with how I handled the role and shook my hand. I, of course, gave him a hug. A moment I will never forget. RIP Carl, you are missed.
From the time I was a little girl, I was ALWAYS taken with 'Judas' from JCSS.....It wasnt until about 1/2 hr ago did I realize who he was, and the fact that he was an accomplished performer! What an amazing voice! Im planning on getting all his music out there now!
I had the blessing of being a part of this tour. I miss this dear man. I still feel his warmth and humor, and 'headbutt'. It tore my heart to see him and Zeyn together, knowing they have both left us. I still have part of his JUDAS costume in my closet, and will treasure it and him, always. Still love you Carl, your friend Eugene
Many years ago I had the pleasure of having Carl sing one of the first songwriter demos I made upon moving to LA. Subsequently, the song was recorded by others but his version was the best. What a talent!
I would love to hear the recording he made if possible. Know it must have been amazing to have your song sung by Carl and it must be an amazing song. Congratulations.
Carl sang a songwriter demo for a song a co-wrote called "Outside Myself, Inside Your Love." It was recorded in late '82 or '83. Subsequently it was the Grand Prize Winner of the 1983 American Song Festival (his version). Unfortunately, I probably only have a cassette recording. As I said before his version made the hairs on my neck stand up and though I've had covers on the song, his was best. God Bless him. What a talent.
I didnt know much about Carl Anderson,But what I did know he was a great singer,a great mate,a really nice person, and loved friends and lovers, was shocked to hear he had passed away,,but I think I knew him a little, and to me thats ok.RIP Carl..Sydney,Aust,,,WE love you...Jodie.
I had the opportunity to see him in his last tour in Italy on JCS.
I took there my very young doughter, and we wait in the alley back the theatre he went out.. he was very friendly with anyone of us, and with patience signed us the playbill of the show, shaked out hands, had a smile for anyone of us...
At that time I ignored about his disease, now I see how big were its soul.
That perfect evening is still in the memories of my daughter and mine.
We miss you Carl!!!! You will be in our hearts forever! Great tribute. We saw Carl in about 9 Superstar performances and visited him at his home in '96. I'll love him forever!!!
I saw Carl as Judas in 2003 when Jesus Christ Superstar was touring then I saw the musical in 2005 without Carl. But I was still luxky to see the same cast twice eventhough Carl wasn't there as Judas. :(
I am just a white boy amateur singer from Toronto, but Carl was my inspiration from the time I was a child. I cry to know that he is gone, but I am so grateful that he was here. Carl, we will never forget you.
I am a proud owner of a few of Carl's CDs. I especially loved Pieces of a Heart. Glad to see many have not forgotten his music. Appears to have been a very friendly and beloved man. God Bless you Carl.
You're welcome. Today is the anniversary of him leaving and we're having a glass of wine in his honor. We can be so thankful we were all blessed to know him.
I am also honoring him today. I've made a myspace tribute page for him. I've posted your video there, I hope you don't mind. But I thought it was a great addition. If you'd like to see the page let me know. Thanks again.
I think of you often brother Carl. You inspired me before I met you, and I carry your spark with me ever since . Miss you & love you. Eugenio

Subsequently it was the Grand Prize Winner of the 1983 American Song Festival (his version). Unfortunately, I probably only have a cassette recording. As I said before his version made the hairs on my neck stand up and though I've had covers on the song, his was best. God Bless him. What a talent.

Carl Anderson was the greatest singer ever to live. I was very sad when he died in 2004. He will be missed terribly...

I've only seen him twice, once in '94 when I was a wee lad and again in '97. I only really remember the '97 performance, but it was amazing.

I am also honoring him today. I've made a myspace tribute page for him. I've posted your video there, I hope you don't mind. But I thought it was a great addition. If you'd like to see the page let me know. Thanks again.
