My dads rottie used to lay in a small pool like that as well. One day I was watching him out the window and he kind of jumped and looked surprised. I went out and looked and there were small frogs in the pool-one of them was 'goosing' Max! LOL

lol, my dad bought our dog a kiddie pool too for this very reason. She used to dunk her head in her waterdish (up to her neck) and motorboat under water to cool down and then she got the pool and is much happier. In fact, I think we have the same one! lol

most people that bring there dogs hunting then the dogs tail gets cut off but it does not bother the dog and the reason the do it is because if they see and animal and the dogs starts wagging his tail then it will make noise in the leaves and stuff and make the animal run away but with the tail cut off it does not really make sound.

This is a cheap plastic pool that we bought at Walmart. It's just a single ply plastic. Previously we had an inflatable one that lasted one session before LottyTheRotty bit and and it collapsed. This one works and it wasn't expensive. Good luck.

Lotty doesn't work for scale. She's a member of SAG and AFTRA and every click on her several YouTube videos generates residuals. Her father is retired and doing voice over narrations in San Francisco. Fortunately Lotty doesn't compete with him in this area. I would never say anything bad about this breed, but they aren't for everyone. Yes this one is cute and sweet to her owner, but she has also been trained and had a lot of time invested into her. They can be very hard headed and while I would love for everyone to not be afraid of a rotty I just don't think its a good idea. These are big powerful dogs that should be respected and not just bought by anyone and also a cheap rotty is probably from a backyard breeder. there is a lot that goes into one

I raised 4 with the help of mz sisters and brother, 1 for each of us but they all came running to me when it was time to sleep. My Rott was named Whiskey, she protected me until death I owe her to keep raising rotts and be a rottie trainer. I miss her soo much tho, I cant believe its been almost 6 years since she died, it seems a lot longer than that.

I couldn't agree with you more about docking a Rottie's tail. Our sweet RottGirl, Lotty, is 8 years old and every Rottweiler of that generation didn't have a tail. Now I see lots of young Rotts with their beautiful tail intact.

@warguscom Rotties use to be born without tails and that is why it was the standard to dock them. they can also get something called "happy tail" and while the name sounds fun and "happy" its actually when a breed that has had its tail docked for so many generations keeps it's tail and then breaks it against a wall or table leg from simply wagging it. in short just because other breeds should have tails, rotties shouldn't.

@warguscom Rotties with or without tails is purely owner preference, opinions are like a _ _holes everyones got one. Most Rotties in the AKC dog shows have docked tails, never seen a Rottie in AKC show with tail, either way they are one of the most incredible dogs around.

Tee hee! My German Shepherd has her own paddle pool too, and she loves it. Pedigree notwithstanding, I think she must be part water-dog. Playing 'bobbing for toys' is an especially wonderful game. However, it does mean that we have to keep a supply of old towels on hand near the back door, for drying off before she comes indoors.

pool is a good idea to stop dogs overheating. I always get paranoid about my dog getting too hot. we had a couple of police dogs die in a car here last year by accident. definitely gonna get one of those for my rottie. she can't stand water!!needs to learn. maybe i'll put a side if beef in the middle of the pool ..might coax her in..

@3252shant There's no way that rottie would bite him. He's using it because dog chewed tennis balls are disgusting, and because you get a lot more leverage when you throw the ball with the tool. It makes it a lot easier to throw the ball with good force, so you can play with your dog longer!
