  • outstanding! tutorial? this is impossible to find. i'd settle for camera over the piano for now! lol

  • This is so good. What a great version of an under-rated song. Have you done "The Question Of U"? Or "Condition Of The Heart" - that would be cool.

  • Nice Job man very well done.

  • Really ,really perfect....wow! Please change camera to your hands and re post it,so I can play it....great job!!!!

  • Wow beautifull music...I always loved the scene in the movie when Prince plays this one of the best parts of the movie.....you did a great job...thanks.

  • That was beautiful! It's so sad and so beautiful at the same time. I miss playing the piano...I really need to get back into it...;-)

  • Beautiful

  • Awesome job man! keep them coming :)

  • You are so right --- the PR songbook sheet music doesn't come close to the version in the movie. But your rendition definitely does. I'd like to learn how to play your version. Do you have a sheet music version of what you're playing?

  • Great work.

  • Awesome. You are very good! I love this song.

  • @Cocogates662

Hi Cocogates, thank you for your kind words. The importance of being Earnest hey! This is my own rendition, my phrasing is different from the original, but that is my own mark on the tune. Don't worry i'm confident enough of my own ability to not worry about that.

  • not even Morris Day and Jerome could dis this

  • hello mister i see you video on you tube father s song by prince it s so beautiful so amazing your a genius i love this song please do you have the partition of this song thank you a lot

  • this is so great! i always cry when i listen to this song.. i don't know why.. =/

could you make a tutorial or something like this to show how to play?

  • I don't know if it's just because this song and Question of U are both in the same key, but you help me to see a link between the two of them that I didn't see before. Thanks for that! :-)

  • nice rendition! Sometimes you reduce the amount of notes and i think it works quite nicely.

I also learned this by ear! its a good one.

  • so many memories

  • NICE...very soothing. Almost have it down, but you got me there. Thanks.

  • This is so gorgeous -- is there sheet music out there somewhere for this song, or did you learn it by ear?

    very, very lovely job.

  • Thank you very much. Learnt by ear. Read below regarding the Purple Rain sheet music.....

    C

  • Haunting, but in a good way. Awesome job brother.

    See you on the org

    Peace

  • nice one.

  • so beautiful. Computer Blue was one of the very first songs I learned on guitar. The solo still gets me everytime, I hear that B note sing.

  • i love fathers song in PR...great rendition, thanks for sharing

  • This piano solo in the movie was always one of my favorite parts. It's haunted me since seeing it 25 years ago, best piano melody I've ever heard. Your version is excellent, would love to hear it done in a studio as a complete song. Does anyone know if this has ever been released as a complete song? Thanks for posting.....

  • I agree I recorded that piano melody 5 times to hear it again and again it is stuck in my head.

  • Beautiful, thanks.

  • This is a brilliant piece by Prince from Purple Rain snd trk

  • The way you played that song really spoke to me, i would love to play it just like you did here, whenever you get the chance and if its not any trouble, would you mind sending me the sheets on exactly how you did it, thank you and keep up the excellent work.

  • i will check it out!

  • The song from "Man from Snowy River" is called "Jessica's Theme" and is on the album/CD

  • Great rendition of a song that I have been searching for for years! If you would like another beautiful song to learn, rent "The Man from Snowy River" and listen to the piano song from the scene where the rancher is breaking the horse; it is beautiful. When y hear it, you will want to play it.

  • Love this

  • Beautiful rendition.

  • Where did you get the sheet music? Is there anyway you can scan and email it to me? I am in the military stationed in Texas. Get job on your video.

  • Hi There,

Sorry mate, i learnt it by ear from the movie. So don't have any sheet music. There is a version in the back of the purple rain book, but it bears little resemblance

  • You ARE the man! Love this, just literally starting to learn piano and this is the reason, to play this so any kind of tutorial would be much appreciated. Thanks, you play it excellently :D

  • hey can u pleeeease post a vdeo up of your hands playing to where i can learn how to play it or better yet just tell me the note left hand and right hand seperate

  • If I get a chance when i'm doing some other recording I will video it from above. Telling you the note's would take forever, But basically it is in Bminor B-C#-D-E-F#-G-A(A#)-B

  • Very Nice!

  • thank you so much...yeah i have been doing it by ear but it is just not workin lol....i would rather watch you play to learn how to play...it would be soooo much easier.....but thanks for the notes ...my friend doesnt have time for me anymore so...yea.....whenever u have time...u can post it ill keep checkin

  • Great job!!!!! This has always been one of my favorite songs from Purple Rain. Too bad this wasn't on the album.

  • Generally when I learnt it off of the video, it would have been pretty close to the "Francis L" Prince version, but over time it has morphed a little into my own take on it. So if i filmed it again it still wouldn't be any closer to the original, cos of my own musical nuances. But real glad you like it. Thank you!

  • Could you also film yourself playing it the way it was originally done? This is beautiful by the way.

  • yea if prince released the original i would buy as many copies as i could to support

i have the movie on my comp what i did is i opened it in wavepad and cut the audio i listen to and play it on piano as well as Computer Blue on guitar everyday

  • thanks man. I love this song. I couldn't find it anywhere.

  • hey can you help me with the base

    esp the ending

  • Sure, the bass roots are - First section B-A-B then G-F# (x3) and back to B

    End section G-F# (x3) then B-A-G-F#- B

  • Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. Wish Prince would release the original. Whilst he hasn't thought I would play my own version.

  • dude thats awesome!!!
