  • Collings.......

  • The future looks brighter! Wow. The kids are touched, and really makwe the most of their talents. What a treat for me!

  • see ya soon in nyc cant wait

  • is that Sam Grisman the son of the legendary David Grisman?

  • @vibealive5 that it is

  • that bass man is sick he is my hero

  • Cool!

  • we are going to be hearing a lot from this young lady and her trio of virtuoso musicians.

i occasionally tune in to austin city limits to catch their lineup usually consisting of acts and/or performers i've never heard before. basically, i find there are simply too many to follow nowadays. sarah's group are the best new musical performing artists i've heard in a very long time. they are SO MUCH better than this!! don't use this cut as a yardstick for measuring sarah's talent.

  • any body know what kind of mandolin sarah is playing?

  • @sparky4661

Its a Collins I believe made in Austin Texas

  • @abbnerd It´s a Collings MF-5. ("Collins" without a "g" is the name of a very cheap brand...)

  • Ah, there is definitely hope for the future of music, with talented young people like this on the scene.

  • Alex is a gd genius! there is no question.

  • Yup! Going to buy what ever I can find ...... Gotta support the artists with our dollars! Everyone has to pay the rent...!

  • Does she have a studio recording of this song. It's my favorite Bill Withers song.

  • superb. see you at the Grammys Sarah!

  • grammys? thats unlikely, grammys are nothing but a popularity contest, at least when it comes to the major categories...they are least about talent...there is no market for this type of performing...they will probably always remain local

  • you are aware she was nominated right? the category was best country instumental performance. she lost to Steve Wariner who is nothing to sneeze at. ur right about it being a popularity contest, at least in the major categories, but sometimes they get it right. in any case her music speaks for itself and to plenty of people. she'll have a Grammy or 2 on her mantle - mark my words.

  • no i wasnt aware, i call these categories "filler categories", most people arent even aware of how many categories for different genres there are...personally i find "best instrumental" anything a wasted category...

  • why? don't like instrumentals?

  • no i dont....

  • do you even like traditional/bluegrass music? what kind of music do you like?

  • @discovery781 stop being such a jackass

  • @thebetterhalf37 ........ He can't. It's who he is.

  • Are musicians ever finished developing? You sound bitter. They sound great.

  • nice work, sarah is awesome!!!!

  • She looks alot like Susan From prince caspian. Sarah Jarosz is just wow. Amazing voice, and she can really play!

  • These three in concert are fabulous! i saw them at a private concert for NAMM in CA last January. They are amazing!

  • Wow! She's on fire!

  • They are great..I saw them in Acoustic Guitar Magazine´s site...Wonderful...

  • I have not seen these three together. Wow. Sarah its wonderful. I just know she'll continue to nurture her wonderful talent. I've been thrilled to see her oh so many times. I too look forward to the album!

  • Whoa! very very refreshing! I totally dig this music and this group

Praise God for this awesome talent.

  • What I like -- besides the bluesy feel -- is the fact that the players are young. Acoustic music has some living greats (including Sam's dad, David) but it's great to see a younger generation discovering the joys of a mandolin chop, a well-sawed fiddle, and a thumping bass line. I look forward to your upcoming album, Miss Sarah.

  • uhh this is creepy because the living bluegrass great that is my bluegrass patriarch's name is david...and he is my friend sam's dad.....weird...

  • Those three are great musicians. Ms. Jarosz is one of the best mandolin players I know of. And that Alex Hargreaves is one great fiddler!
