In Space 1999, the 70's Science Fiction TV series had a transport tube concept almost identical, except the cars were cylindrical. It was used to get around the sprawling "Moon Base Alpha" complex.
iv had a idea for ages - the biggest problem in the underground is wind resistance... lets suck all the air out of the tunnel and makes trains sooo much faster!
@iwatchfunny yeah, there's a project called transatlantic tunnel, running from New York to London in less than an Hour. The concept is of a Vactrain: in the tunnnel, vacuums pump the air out the tunnel until the tunnel itself is completely airless, therefore making the trains (which wil be maglev) travel at extreme speeds without increase of power.
i like the hexagonal shape, looks really sturdy for high speeds nice work

It has a bit of a retro-futurist design to it. I love it!

@iwatchfunny
Yes, very good. I had the same idea. I also think that it would not be necessary to suck all the air: a part of it would be enough.

@danlux5 if were to be partially evacuated, then it wouldn't go fast at all. Might as well travel out in the open.

@Nekosys yay il get to america quickly now, anyways, removing such a huge volume of air is really difficult though!

@iwatchfunny Don't worry, it takes time.

a tripe maglev how impresive, I thinkt hat this type of maglev tech would work great in Underground, that could be the Subway system of the future.
