  • were is the oldest section of the national road in Brownsville,pa

  • they should put that old arch bridge on old us 40 on to the new us 40 across the monongahelea river that would be awesome

  • Hey i live there!

  • Great stuff buddy. Thanks for posting. By the way...I am just up the road. Greetings and salutations from Markleysburg. I used to spend alot of time in Brownsville filming freight trains as they passed through.

  • I have been down there. I crawled up inside. I made it about 30ft. You can see the other side.

  • i dont see no face in the tunnel? i see shapes, prolly jus shadows and if you postion cameras and screens a certain way then the color is manipulated.

  • Man how I'd love to live back in the early 1900's in my area. Damn I love old cities like that. And old mining cities here in PA.

  • I lived in Brownsville for a year when I was 10. This is some great history and footage.I want to point out something very strange I noticed between 2:30-2:45. There appears to be a very clear face in the bottom right opening of the tunnel. It is clearest right at 2:40. It seems to turn then move to the left. A haunted tunnel maybe?

  • @MrGirliegirl Thats weird i saw it too

  • @MrGirliegirl thats scary

  • "Geisterzuch"

  • Nice brick work on the arch. Reminds me of one like it in downtown Lycnburg. Only has one end that is still open.

  • cool vid

    thanks buddy!

  • That's pretty awesome, never been down in there to see that. By the way the Simpson tunnel is fairly easy to get to from the northern side, just park by the bridge on Simpson road (behind the old hospital) and walk the line, it's not far. The south end on the other hand is difficult to reach.

  • Gonna check that out soon...thanks for the vid!

  • Wish it could be converted into a rail to trail

  • OK, now I'm hooked! This is so cool! This tunnel was last used in 1975? I was in high school then! Dosen't seem that long ago. Your video's make me want to get out and explore my own area! Lots of history here! I'm in Kingston Ontario Canada. The first capital of Canada.
