They keep making games like this because the MMO industry has hit a plateau where no majoy developers will take risks. Far too few original ideas flying around, and those that are original are generally by small developers without the money or power within the industry to go far enough.

I think the realtime combat feature coming out lately is still in its infancy, it could be good but at the moment it needs to be developed and looked at from many different angles before it's viable in an MMO.

Lag being one such issue, that will take some time to work out. On top of that this kind of gameplay, reminiscent to a 3d Maplestory is just as repetitive, if not more so than an auto-attack system.

Needs more classes and character customization. Notice how I didn't say MORE character customization, 'cause there is absolutely none. I have to say, this is the worst game I've ever seen ON THE SUBJECT of character creation, however, it does still look pretty awesome. I've never seen such free fighting in an MMO, I'd just get tired of looking at the same person over and over again.

Well thats the subject, in free fighting its pretty dam hard to have a customized char to do the flips and tricks with out a TON of glitches here and there, It depends on how much work and money is put into it. Some of the most elaborite mmo's get looked over because the engine they used made the movements easier, yet repetitive and boring. So less customization equates to better movements and vis versa which mmo players havnt gotten yet....
