  • I believe there is a shortage in EXPERIENCED nurses since the baby boomer nurses are now retiring and will soon become the patients.

  • really appreciate nurses for the effort and hard work they do i also wanna be a nurse

  • I also read there is no real shortage in nurses....

  • Good to see also take a look at youtube:superjknott for more information of practical use

  • hope their uniform is changed now.

  • I am on the first year of the nurse school and it is great. He is studying in Poland. Very much I am pleased that I went to these studies. It is heavily, but I think that it is worthwhile. Perhaps in the future I will still go to study medicine, but in Poland terribly it is hard to get. We will see:)

  • BE KIND TO NURSES... We keep doctors from accidentally killing you.

    The Sarcasm Shop

i rather be a doctor... sorry..."

Doctor's and nurses are two different professions. One gives mediclal care and only medical care. Nurses are way more varied in their profession. I am proud of being a nurse and I wouldn't trade my education for anything in the world.

  • @samhch yeah nurses do many things but not Medicine...in spite of that some Nurses call themselves doctors and like to put down young doctors, seems like they enjoy that.

  • @TBH5566 Only Nurses who earn their Doctorate are called Doctors, and higher level Nurses do prescribe medicine. Ive never witnessed a Nurse putting down young docs, Basically everything you said was complete BS

  • nice to see male nurses represented :) :)

i rather be a doctor... sorry..."

    why?

more work , more responablity , less patient care ,

if your a real people person , theres no shame in being a nurse at all , nursing practioners are there for a reason

    xox

  • or you can be a physician asst. Less paperwork more pay.

  • yeah if you are smart enough

  • Thanks, these videos bring back great memories for me. I trained at RMH, Grp 180 and had a ball. I feel sad for today's nursing students who will never know the experience of all living in the nurses home together and being excited about starting your 1st adult job. And the huge bonus of being paid while you trained. You had the chance to live the job and find out whether it was really your thing and if it was, the hospital gained a dedicated trainee.

    Hospital training was fantastic!!!

  • Sharing these experiences really bonded these people. But as we know nursing today is much better off being a university degree. Today's nurses need to be prepared for a variety of settings, not just a hospital. I think it was good for its time but today's nurses need to be armed with degrees to take care of the complex needs of their clients.

It was fun making Group 287- these girls partied and studied hard.

    thanks for watching

    regards

  • I am doing my nursing degree at Uni. I had the experience you're talking about when I did my enrolled nursing training. I agree with you in a way. I reckon all RNs should have to do their ENs first because it gives them a good grounding and they get paid to do it.

  • i rather be a doctor... sorry...

  • keep up the good work!

  • Well produced and interesting to hear the experiences of nurses who trained under the hospital system. Thanks for posting this.

  • thanks for taking the time to comment. it certainly is nice to have some positive feedback. this is one of my favourite films out of the latest series. the idea of placing nursetv on youtube is to reach people who couldn't otherwise see the series.

  • Actually I think I have seen one episode on the Community Channel. To tell the truth I could probably count on one hand the number of times I have watched community TV. But with quality content like this maybe I should check it out more frequently.

  • I was trying to find the US comedy Nurses. Not this tripe.

  • Thanks so much for your comments regarding our documentary on an important piece of Australian history. And thank you so much for describing it as tripe. I see your desires for much classier American shows like Nurses (the US comedy) gives me a solid indication of your intelligence and personality!

    Nick Bird

    Producer Nurse TV

  • Dear Nick Bird (Producer of Nurse TV) When you said thank you so much for your comments, I believe you were not being sincere but sarcastic in that statement. It was not my intention to offend Nick Bird (Producer of Nurse TV) in anyway, shape or form. Or to disparage the fantastic work nurses do all over the world.

  • I do hope however someone does put the real Nurses show on Youtube. So next time Nick Bird (Producer of Nurse TV) is peaking in to see what people have wrote about his show he's at least got something funny to watch. Well all the best Nick Bird (Producer Nurse TV). My apologies if I offended you, or your ego.

    Mike

    Nurses (USA) Fan.

  • You haven't offended me, but rather the nurses of 287, some of which who drove from Geelong to be filmed and spent hours finding photos for scanning. All to tell their story of what used to be. My ego- well Nurse TV is a very small part of our work. It is a volunteer community project so I am unsure what you are talking about. There is no room for egos on Community television.

I think you should think carefully before you place such silly comments online

  • Sorry I think I dozed off half way through that boring speech. I said NURSES do a fantastic job so why are you trying to throw that back in my face. Listen mate you maybe big in Waddleloolo but in the real world your jack shit. So who the fuck are you to tell me whether or not to think carefully about leaving comments. Freedom of speech is a powerful thing Nick, but being involved in community TV you all ready knew that. You should think carefully before posting silly comments nick

  • i am throwing it back because our sponsors watch this and you described nursetv as tripe. We produce Nurse TV on around $7,000 per episode. It is extremely low budget and only has a limited audience (around 30,000) people per episode. So i am unsure why you think I think I'm important. In TV circles we and NurseTV arenot highly regarded by tvprofessionals, so we care what people think about nursetv because it is a labor love, your comments were thoughtless. Thanks for reminding we are nobodies
