do these fish require any heating ? because im after a fish that is sturdy and not take up too much of my time but still look nice istead of a plain goldfish :) but i may get a gold fish and call kit klouse
@declanc978 No they do not require any heating. Just make sure the water temperature is around 18-20*C and you should be fine. These are very sturdy fish and have forgiven my inconsistent water changes (sometimes I forget to change the water for 3-4 weeks and they're fine). Remember that goldfish produce a lot of waste and so will require an adequate filter system.
@KevHw You seem to know alot about minnows. I only have two and I have A qestion what is the best thing to feed minnows? I feed my betta fish flakes and the occasinal bread crumbs.
@declanc978 Don't give them a sudden pure- water change too. I've learned that from experience. Always keep, say, 25- 33% old water they've been swimming in. You'll find you can accidentally breed a couple of generations lol.
Im planning to keep minnows as a feeder fish for my turtle. But the first time i kept it,it died.Yes,i use an air pump ... Most of the minnow that i kept it started to go down to the bottom of the tank and stay there and suddenly drop to the side and die.My friend said that when i bought it,some of the fish in the plastic bag have been there for a long time because it have also happened to him.Im not really believe it...Maybe the Air Pump is spoiled or others.....Any Advise??? Please!!!!
@madturtlefan I don't think the air pump has anything to do with them. Check the quality of the fish before you buy them from the store. I don't know why they'd suddenly drop to their sides and die. Maybe something in the water/food?

I'm planning on having some of these awesome fishes in a pond on my balcony. Will 40-60 litres be enough for 10 of them? :)

you have a nice tank but heres a tip.... you need over 5 wcmm for them to feel at home but its best with 6....all the best,,,, sprouty!
10wnu8 2 years ago
Thanks for your comment. Do you think having 5 wcmm in a 2 gallon tank would be fine? I don't want to overcrowd them.
KevHw 2 years ago
NOOOOOOOOOO don't a two gallon is so small the only thing that you can put there is one Betta or 2 little fish like your own
