  • Covering Bob Dylan is a sign of great taste + this song is not the most famous nor the easiest. Good version, by the way!

...But, though I enjoy the White Stripes, to me no one will be as good as Bob Dylan's Isis during the "Rolling Thunder Revue" (1975).

  • What's about Bob?...;-)

  • While I really apprectiate Jack White, this rendition doesn't even come close to the original. I can't tell you how many Dylan skeptics I've turned on to Bob via Isis (Dylan's Desire version, that is).

  • @seans10 good idea, i never thought of it. I always am sitting there wondering why they don't like the songs I pick, but i haven't tried Isis.

  • @MrRobbieboy74 For some people, it never takes. No matter how matter how much you proselytize or how many songs you play. I've been married for over ten years and my wife has heard Dylan thousands of times, but still...she is locked into that god-damned contemporary country music and I can't seem to light the Dylan flame in her.

  • @seans10 I hear you! I wasn't a fan at all, but my ex saturated me, dragged me to 3 concerts. Since I hated him - my ex - I was reluctant to be assuaged. But after many years away from him - after coming to Dylan at my own pace, by choice - my eyes and heart have been opened. His love songs are so powerful. His lyrics, unbeatable. His work with "The Band" fun and meaningful. I wouldn't say I'm a "huge fan", but he does hold a place in my musical heart. Why would Jimi Hendrix cover him???

  • @ladyfuschia jimi hendrix wanted to imitate bob dylan, bob dylanwas jimis inspiration to become a muscisian

  • Love the Dylan covers and hes a great guitarist!

  • FANTASTIC!!

  • I've been a Dylan fan for too many years to even remember how long it's been. This is an amazing cover of an amazing song. Wonderful live performance. The more I hear Jack White the more mesmerized I am by his genius.

  • @Varangian1915 You have problems. They obviously involve sex. You know nothing about the singer's penis or whether his sister (ACTUALLY HIS WIFE) has sex with men for money. Do you have sex with girls? Would you like it they gave you money? Maybe you're not good enough, too limp. I assure you, they don't eat shit. Why don't you try saying what's really on your mind instead of coming across like some angry juvenile delinquent with a meth-rotted brain? No one can BE DYLAN, obviously. Calm down!

  • quel carnage

  • Bob Dylan doesn't seem to mind that Jack does his stuff... he has sang with Jack!

  • Seriously good

  • total crap. Get a job you fuckin hippie

  • @Gawndoggin i hope that comment wasnt directed at jack white. if so, youre an idiot. this is a great cover of a great song.

  • this is my favorite dylan song. i am a big white stripes fan too. how am i just now hearing this cover?

  • Does Dylan know about this?

  • The White Stripes has done what few have done before them and succeeded - they've covered Bob Dylan songs.

  • If you don't like it, go listen to something else.

  • I can't decide if he butchered it or simply did a really good version of his own. Either way, I like both versions.

  • I love the White Stripes, but this doesn't really capture how amazing this song is...Dylan's delivery can't be emulated.

  • Well I love it..

  • @SexyYfronts you go on the internet and wish someone death? well what a great human being you are.

he inspired many people, cause hes the exact opposite of musicians nowadays

what did you do in your life?

  • @SexyYfronts fuck you

  • @TheLongboardDynasty fuck your momma

  • this is horrid compared to dylan!

  • @lumber12389 This is ACE

  • @lumber12389

Why you would even compare a Blues-Punk band to Dylans thin, wild mercury sound is beyond me. You clearly don't understand how covers work.

  • little dragon

  • SHIT!!!

  • Meg White SUCKS! She totally ruins this. Too bad.

  • terrible version, just terrible, my granny does it better

  • Love Bob, love it! He looks like he's so enjoying every single word :)

  • dylans verson is better for sure but thats not the point hedoes it in his style and thats great someone is trying to keep the fire blazing good for him,, im jealous!

  • i love it..

  • it's just an opinion, dude. but here, they have tried to pretty much just play it the way bobby played it on the 75 tour, and the rolling thunder reue does that version better.

  • This rocks. Dylan is the king, but this fucking rocks!

  • oh, meg.

  • Oops accidently gave you a negative

  • you want to see dylan plaiyng thsi song live?, look for the 1975 "isis" bob dylan...this version is very good, but the dylans live, amen

  • @roncove It's daaamn good ;D

  • i was there it was great i was 14 yrs old

  • @TheHappydead you said you were 13

  • @april101988 yeah my bad nearly 14 , i think

  • theres no point in covering this, the rolling thunder version does everything the song should

  • Theres no point in covering it at all by that logic then, the original does what it's supposed to, that's why it's made. I guess you have not heard of paying homage to someone.

  • i love jack and bob there so good

  • Jack you gotta put more scream into the 'yeas' in Isis, it's what makes it a complete song!

  • TRANQUILO PUES BOB DYLAN.

  • I like this version so much.. plus open position vs. barres? I'm lazy =P

  • Jacks voice is so strange and beautiful,he could read a japanese telephone book and it would still sound gorgeous to me!

  • hmm. What's the date today?

    0:15

  • I saw Bob live on Tuesday (in Dublin). Was hoping he'd play this but alas.....

  • Congratulations! Can't beleive he's not only making great music but stil touring and playing at his age. Sorry, he didn't play it. Although, i'm sure it didn't take away from the experience.

  • No, it was brilliant. What can you say about a Dylan show. There are none like it. Also there is no more diverse crowd. There are a few videos posted of the gig. In the O2 in Dublin (Ireland). I was there on the 5th but he played the 6th also.

  • Love both! But you have to give respect that the white stripes have a knowledge of history and they pay respect to past greats

  • You're so right. JW knows his history. That's why we see living rock greats playing with him.

  • I prefer the white stripes!!!

  • methinks you not heard bob's :P

  • still like bob's better but not bad
