  • i wouldve either put the reel in free spool or cut the line.

  • poor fish.... ;)

  • That was amazing, Those sharks are just ruthless!

  • No offense, but why didn't you break the line when you knew the hammerhead was chasing the tarpon?

  • hey cptn, me and my brother were fishing off of the start of the 7 mile bridge and hooked on to something big. we had a heavy tld reel and even when we put it from strike to maximum it was still taking line like nothing wed hooked on to. it didnt even come close to surface so we know it wasnt a tarpon or cuda, and the guys crowding us said it was a shark but noone new what kind. it hooked on for the rack of a yellowtail... nd snapped us after 20 min. do you know what it couldve been? hammerhead?

  • @mkyb843 Maybe a Goliath grouper?

  • @mkyb843

Probably one of those huge mean Bull Sharks that are down there.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • why would you let it go????? the things suffering!

  • @queensweet124 If he hadn't had it on the hook, the shark might have ate it even slower. He did it a favor by keeping it in one place. It's a fish, this happens thousands of times a second all around the world, some just aren't lucky enough to be held in one place to die quickly.

  • this wouldve been better during shark week :)

  • this is my kinnda video...

*shark music* tan tan tan.... tan tan tan....

tarpon is like... "i freekin shark ate... get me out of here captn..."

    hahaha denied

love you videos man... im so glad, you do what you, and how you do it....

    happy motoring

  • @240SSONLY

    Thanks for the great reply.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • That's called live baitin' for hammerhead. I once trolled for marlin with a spread of schoolie dolphins. That's no lie.

  • dang,thats a huge shark

  • Awesome!

  • i always immagine that when i see a shark i getb so scared and fall in the water!

jees i never wanna see a shark from so close!

unless its in an auarium we have like 6 tiny baby sharks and they can also really bite!

  • I was in Clearwater back in 2005 and a guy in a kayak did hook into a hammerhead (not this big, but about 350#), it wore me out watching him try to land the thing. We gave up after about an hour. Can't wait to see you guys on tv!

  • Man I wish I could hook into a big hammerhead on my kayak.

  • lol poor fish

  • Amazing

  • Pretty regular occurrence, now the tarpon know what the lady fish feel like when i hook one and its engulfed before i can get it off the line :)

  • I had something similar happen once...except it was a bluegill, and it was eaten by a northern pike...but I landed the pike. Hey, add some 0's to my fish's weights and our stories are practically identical ;)

  • wow, that would have been some sight

  • That Tarpon was kinda unlucky :)

  • how big was the shark roughly?

  • @azzalionly

    600-800 pounds probably

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • You should have cut your line and let the Tarpon have a chance!

  • I am supposed to go tarpon fishing next year, i hope a shark doesnt bite one i have on my line!

  • I hates me some sharkzez... and sea lions (West Coaster). Supposedly, the damn sea lions cue in on the clicking of your reel. Often hard to get anything in before there's nothing left but a head...or sometimes they'll spool you.

  • @tinbanger66 ive pulled in several sea lions and was even on a boat in mexico and there were a few people with seal bombs and guns to shoot them

  • @mtinch7 Kind of harsh isnt it? how big of a snack does a seal usually steal from you? it doesnt seem like theyd go for anything more then a couple pounds

  • it would have been cool if it ate the whole thing in one bite and you hooked the shark

  • Hey Capt! i hope in tarpons next life to spawn as an Orca whale to find that Hammerhead bullie haha

  • O_____O big ass shark!

  • awww the poor tarpon...ever though they might kill thats still worser than a shark killin it...but i guess mother nature hated that fish

  • hey capt ur vids are great and i was wandering why it been a long time since u uploaded something
