Mr. Flusser has hit the proverbial nail on its head. In this new relaxed society in which we find ourselves, the definition of dressing well needs to be reset. I agree that Thim Browne is a joke as a designer. No matter what is said negatively about this video when it comes down to attracting quality women. "A girl will go crcazy bout a sharp dressed man" EVERYTIME! If she knows quality and timeless fashion and the best girls are groomed to know such! Cheers Mr. Flusser.
@TheDorapapi321 thom browne clothes outside of that grey suit is crazy ,,,,i think he is looking to shock the viewer...i have never seen such awful mens designs....he designs for clowns in a circus,,,,alan flusser knows what he's doing
I'm very pleased that I've found Alan Flusser's clothing for my husband who's a 34 waist and 30 length the pants fit so well there is no need for alternation. Now, if anyone would provide a great ideal for women who desire to dress well without the flimsy fare and very bad for you high heels.
I've never been to Flusser's store, and there are people who has written better books on the same subjects as he.
Still, I think he is absolutely right. In the future not too distant when people are forced to, no just talk about ecology, but actually have to make major changes in the way they live and consume, elegant timeless clothes wich lasts for years and years will be the only things possible to wear.
The current Italian wear-and-throw fashion culture is disgusting.
@nomobties There is a very nice book by a Danish author called "Den store blaereproven" which is translated to several languages, but unfortunately not to English, as far as I know.
But for me THE textbook on the subject is "A gentleman: A timeless guide to fashion" by Bernard Roetzel. It has recently been published in a new, updated edition. Do you know it?
This guy simply tries to argue that modern day fashion is outdated and unjustly becomes a modern standard of and for everyone. At the same time, he clings tightly to 20s, 30s, and 40s styles of clothes. But if you know about these clothings, you will know that they tend to be looser, not that tight, the lapels are bigger, and the cuts are "bigger" to represent the idealism of "luxury" and "elegance." But those types of clothes are boring, and suffer less then perfection.
You know he is absolutely right. Think about Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Fred Astaire, Gary Cooper: look at THEIR clothes in the old Hollywood. No comparison to today. Hollywood has lost something.
But don't you think people in general in those days not just celebrities or wealthy folks took more care to look good before they left the house? I agree with you totally btw.
You are absolutely right and there is ample empirical proof in the form of old newspapers, microfilm, documentaries etc. in the previous century. Also diaries and memoirs of "ordinary" people offer evidence.

I have 1000 times more respect for Thom Browne than this douchebag, even though Browne is not even a designer I admire

1- He's absolutely right.
2- A stroll to the barbershop wouldn't kill him.
3- Neither would a stroll on the treadmill
4- But he's 100% right.
5- His shop rocks, and do his clothes.
