I really don't like this guy that much, but he is a beast no doubt. Amazing takedown defense. And possibly best striker in lightweight with some ok subs. But he doesn't finish TOO often. Not saying that Frankie Edgar or Grey Maynard does eather lol.

Fourteen of his nineteen wins have come via finishing his opponent. He'd prolly have more finishes but lately, his opponents are scared of him. Matt and George wanted nothing to do with him on the feet which resulted in somewhat stalling the fight, unfortunately for us :(

Yeah, I didn't see it either but it probably has to do with how much people invest in takedowns under the winning criteria even if most of them were stuffed. Effective striking is the biggest priority for judging a fight and Siver landed 128 strikes to Wiman's 34. Only 34 damn strikes in 3 rounds, that's pathetic lol Wiman landed 5 takedowns but 11 others got stuffed. I just can't see how anyone could think Wiman took that.

Watch the fight again. Two in the first...one, maybe two in the second depending on how the judges determine a td while attempting to get up, and then a sweep near the end of the third which they do consider a td.

I agree, completely. It was one of those rare fights where the judges weren't tricked into an incorrect decision (again) as a result of just takedowns. I was so sure Siver was going to be screwed out of his win but I'm glad I was wrong.

The first time i saw Siver was in his last fight George Sotiropoulos. That's right ... it took him only ONE fight to make me a huge Siver fan, looking up highlight videos and everything.

i dont think that pettis deserves this shot more than siver. pettis only retired the WEC belt but siver won 7 of his last 8 fights in the UFC and was the only man to defeat George Sotiropoulos in the UFC who is a top contender for the LW Belt. he has so much improved in his UFC comeback.
