I doubt that this was a demon. If it was in fact paranormal, I'd assume that it's an animal spirit. Jumping to the conclusion that is' a demon is a big jump; especially considering the fact that this looks almost exactly like a dog.

Another possibility is that it's a hoax. While the photo is authentic, he could have just had a dog-head-looking mask that he stuck behind him.
